Why Sarah Fraser chose South Hams

We bought Corner Cottage in 2007, having spent many happy holidays in the area both as children and adults. Over the last few years we have completely refurbished and modernised the house to give a warm, comfortable and well equipped home-from-home in which all generations of our family love to spend time.

What makes this house unique

We like Kingsbridge as a location because during the height of the season the main attractions, such as the beautiful beaches and water based activities, are a stone’s throw away and off season the town remains alive and open for business. There is also an abundance of fantastic pubs, restaurants and beautiful walks whatever the time of year.

Notes on accommodation: Wifi is available. The Sonos audio system provides access to internet radio and audio streaming services, but requires a free app to be installed on your own smartphone or tablet in order to operate. Outside: There is no garden with this property, just a small seating area to the side of the house with room to put the BBQ. The nearest park is, however, just a 2 minute walk away, and the private parking space is about 50m away in a residents parking area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are not provided. Duvets, pillows and protectors are provided. The property must be left in a generally clean and tidy state upon departure, but a professional cleaner will carry out a full clean after your stay. Other: There is an entrance lobby where coats and boots can be stored, and an electric radiator to help dry any wet clothing.

Cosy and very well equipped.

Corner cottage is ideally situated to access Kingsbridge shops,restaurants and amenities. Just a short walk from the centre.

The cottage is very cosy and very well equipped. Lovely kitchen and bathroom, and three very adequate bedrooms. All I all we had a very enjoyable few days.

Fantastic location, great house right in the middle of Kingsbridge. Superb restaurants and shops . We have stopped at several properties in South Hams and The Corner House is one of the best

Location

Coast/Beach:

The nearest sandy beach is the National Trust owned South Milton Sands which is 4.6 miles drive. There are numerous other beautiful beaches within a 20 minute drive (Bigbury-on-Sea, Hope Cove, Soar Mill Cove, North and South Sands and other Salcombe estuary beaches). The South Hams is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a spectacular coastline, much of which is owned by the National Trust.

Travel:

By Car – a 20-25 minute drive along B roads from the A38

By Train – the nearest station is Totnes.

By Plane – the nearest airport is Exeter.

Distances:

Two minute's walk to Kingsbridge town centre; 15 minute's drive to Salcombe; 25 minute's drive to Dartmouth; 15 minute's drive to the nearest beach.

Further Details:

There are good local bus links to the surrounding towns and villages from Kingsbridge. During high-season a ferry service runs regularly to between Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

The owners can also offer suitably qualified skippers bareboat charter of a Merry Fisher kept at Salcombe.

Booking Notes:

Payments to be made by Bank Transfer directly to the owners with the exception of the service fee which is paid to Owners direct.
For bookings, please either e-mail or telephone. We will ask for a 25% deposit to secure a reservation, with the balance payable no later than 28 days prior to arrival. A refundable security deposit of £250 in case of damage or breakages will also be required on payment of the balance. This will be refunded within 14 days of leaving the property. Entry to the cottage on your arrival day is after 4pm. We would ask you to leave by 11am on your departure day
Changeover Day:
The changeover day is Friday.

Notes on prices:
There is an additional £20 per week charge made for a dog to stay. Please contact the owner to discuss this.

We supply a set of Bedlinen for each bed (2 doubles and 2 singles in the form of bunk beds), and a bath towel for each guest. A bathmat, 2 tea towels and several hand towels are also supplied. Please strip the beds on the morning you leave.
