Villa in Fuente Alamo, Murcia, Spain - Heated pool allows out of season swimming

Luxury, three bed/two bath, detached villa with private pool and landscaped garden sleeps six people in comfort. Situated on one of the most prestigious golf developments in Spain – Hacienda del Alamo – this villa is the ideal getaway for golfing groups and families alike. The villa has a large, landscaped garden, with extensive terracing surrounding the beautiful, private (12 x 5m) swimming pool. The pool can also be heated during the colder seasons, allowing bathing when other pools are simply just too cold. The outside wooden pergola supplies a shaded area ideal for al-fresco dining. The villa is furnished to a very high standard and includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge, WI-FI, hot and cold air-con, a flat screen T.V with Game Console*, Blue-Ray DVD player and a built in barbecue, allowing outside dining. A full sized football pitch, basketball court, bowls green, tennis and padel courts are all within a fifteen minute walk of the property. The local town of Fuente Alamo has two supermarkets and is only a five minute drive from the resort. The nearby motorway allows quick access to the whole of the Region of Murcia, with cities like Cartagena and Murcia or resorts like La Manga Club and Mar Menor all within a half hour drive from the resort. XBOX 360 games console is optional and provided at extra cost.

Stunning villa with beautiful views

We have been on holiday to the Hacienda countless times,and this villa is the best we have stayed in. It is really well equipped,and in a great location. The pool is lovely with non slip paving around it which the kids loved. They were also kept happy in the communal pool and playground across the road in front of the house. The pergola in the garden is brilliant for lazy evening BBQ's with lovely views of the mountain ranges. We spent time on the golf course and also walking and cycling on the many paths around the resort. And also used the outside gym circuit just down the road from the villa.

The villa itself is well equipped with wifi a new TV and very al the appliances you could want. It actually sleeps 8 very comfortably as there are extra trestle beds in the two downstairs bedrooms and both the sofas in the lounge are sofa beds.

We spent a lot of evenings BBQing but also went to The Spaniards which was always buzzing and great for the older kids who loved the food. The club house was also great for evening drinks watching the sun set over the pretty course and the mountains.

Mike and George looked after us really well too. So all in all a stunning place and a great holiday for all of us. We will be back

Relaxing stay at a quality villa

We had an excellent family holiday at this villa. The villa is well equipped and better than what was expected. The swimming pool is a great size and we had lots of fun playing in it, the lemon tree was very useful for gin and tonics!!! The brilliant separate outside dining area gave great views at night over the hills. Mike and George welcomed us and explained how the villa and site worked which was very helpful. George also came an cleaned out the pool during the stay - much appreciated - and we had milk/wine etc in the fridge when we arrived.

The golf resort is very quiet - which we liked as it gave us more privacy and the club house had great views and is not as busy as expected - but watch out if you are expecting a busy place. The club house staff were really helpful and the snack bar menu (burgers etc) was well priced. You could also have steak for around 16 euros. We didn't go to the Spaniards bar but noticed that it did takeaway pizza. Fuento Alamo is functional with supermarkets, Macado is biggest but the friendly staff were at the Consum. And in general we found all the Spanish locals helpful and friendly. Cartagena and Murcia are worth visits and the waterpark is 1hr away - kept the kids happy.

Villa was an excellent stay and definitely recommend. Deserves 5+ stars but only gave it 4 due to the marble floors being really slippy - as you come out of the pool to go into the house it is easy to slip (which we did) but this could be remedied by extra matting and also the wifi although pleased to have it is not as quick as you expect in the UK. Oh and it was really good to have British telly and Mike and George were helpful with the booking and payments.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Ancient culture and wonderful shops and restaurants are available in the Capital city of Murcia only 35mins inland, and the ancient city of Cartagena with its magnificent Roman Coliseum and rejuvenated port, only 20 minutes away.

The Murcia region as a whole and in particular the immediate area within a 30 minute drive from Hacienda del Alamo, contains many especially protected sites for birds and is popular for bird watching. Golden eagles, Griffon vultures, Bonelli eagles, Rollers and Bee eaters can be found to name but a few. A local English speaking guide is available for tours for both singles and parties (bookings and rates through us in advance at time of reservation).


The coastal town of Puerto Mazarron is a 30 minute drive though mountains, with numerous beaches, restaurants, night clubs and shops surrounding the newly built marina.

Mar Menor and La Manga are around 30 minutes drive on the motorway and include secluded beaches with crystal clear water, numerous tourist attractions, bars and restaurants.

Cabo de Palos is a quaint fishing village which still retains old charm, with amazing seafood restaurants and typical Spanish coastal architecture.


Please note that car hire is essential.

San Javier airport is under 40 minutes from the resort, while Alicante airport is roughly 75 minutes away.

The port of Cartagena is 25 minutes from the resort and receives the largest cruise ships currently sailing.

Cartagena also has both a bus station and train station.

The city of Murcia also has both a bus station and train station.


Murcia (30 minutes) and Cartagena (20 minutes) are the biggest cities in the region, with culture, art, shopping and restaurants providing all the entertainment and gastronomical needs a holidaymaker could wish for.

For nightlife in the summer we recommend La Manga strip (30 minutes), Mazarron (30 minutes) and Los Alcazares (25 minutes).

Further Details:

The resort includes a selection of bars and restaurants which are within a 10 minute walk from the villa. The Spaniard bar/restaurant offers a place to relax and supplies nightly entertainment, while the restaurant offers a selection of a la carte dishes. The Clubhouse allows amazing vistas whilst enjoying drinks and fine cuisine typical of the region. Also note that The Sports bar is found in a handy position next to the full sized football pitch, allowing quick refreshment after a kick around with the kids.

For avid shoppers both local & international tastes are well served with a visit to: both Cartagena city and the Espacio Mediterraneo shopping mall (20 minutes); Murcia city, Thader and Nueva Condomina shopping malls (30 minutes); and finally a trip to La Zenia Boulevard is recommended (35 minutes).

The Hacienda del Alamo golf resort is a gated, 24 hour security patrolled complex.

The Region of Murcia enjoys a Mediterranean climate of semi-arid type, with mild winters (an average of 11 °C to highs in excess of 16°C in December and January) and warm summers (where the daily maximum regularly exceeds 40 °C). The average annual temperature is 18 °C. The city of Murcia holds the record temperature of the 20th century in Spain. It reached 46.1 °C (115 °F) on July 4, 1994.

The resort is surrounded by the majestic hills and mountains of the Murcia region providing stunning views. The Sierra Espuña regional park/ nature reserve (20 minutes from the resort) provides a raw look at the Murcia regions biodiversity. Its mountains and valleys, woods, plains and hidden villages provide spectacular scenery for casual hikers and mountain bikers alike.

A security deposit of 300€ is also payable at the time of the full balance. This is returned within 14 days following departure from the villa.

Changeover Day:
During the medium season (June & September) and high season (July & August) the changeover day is Saturday, although flexibility might be allowed on some occasions. Departure time is 10:00am and arrival time is 16:00pm.

Notes on prices:
Pool heating is available and must be requested at time of booking. The price for heating the pool is 100€/week.
Cot and highchair hire is available for 50€/week.
