Gwel Enys is one of only 5 properties in Trelissick Court, an attractive building hung with traditional Cornish slate tiles. There are 2 private parking spaces for each property and its position overlooking St Ives Bay gives stunning sea and harbour views. Set in beautiful and well maintained gardens, it is ideal for both families and couples, having safe areas for children to play, and sunny spots for adults to relax. The apartment has been fully refurbished since purchase in 2014 and tastefully decorated to a high standard in fresh coastal colours. There is a bright, open plan lounge with kitchen and dining area, and patio doors leading out onto the large terrace, perfect for eating al fresco. The master bedroom has a king size bed and en-suite with double shower, and the second bedroom has twin beds with an additional fold-out bed suitable for a child. The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. There is free Broadband and Sky TV available at the apartment.

Gwel Enys is ideally situated, being in the peaceful and more exclusive "Belyars" area of St Ives, yet still only a short stroll down to the town. The harbour and all the stunning beaches of St Ives are within easy walking distance.

We are a family of four from Worcestershire, and we have been drawn to the beauty of St Ives for many years. Its combination of fabulous beaches, traditional Cornish harbour, beautiful scenery and great food makes the perfect place for a family holiday and it holds a special place in our hearts.

Why Juliet Williams chose St Ives

When we were finally able to realise our dream of buying a holiday home in St Ives, we were delighted to discover that there was a flat for sale, where we had actually stayed ourselves, during a wonderful week's holiday in 2006. Another visit confirmed that it had everything we were hoping for: light spacious rooms, fabulous views and patio, and the all important (and rare) parking spaces. What's more, it was in the quieter, sought-after Belyars area of St Ives, yet still only a few minutes' walk into the heart of the town.

We have loved creating our Cornish home from home, and have named it "Gwel Enys," which means "Island View," to reflect the beautiful view of the Island which can be seen from the living room and terrace.

What makes this apartment unique

What we love most about Gwel Enys, is being able to throw open the patio doors and enjoy the terrace as an outdoor room, with the large gardens as a safe place for children to play. Having Broadband and a second bathroom is extremely useful now that we have two teenagers! The two parking spaces also mean that different branches of the family can come and go as they please.

Notes on accommodation: There are electric heaters in all rooms, making the property warm and cosy all year round. A travel cot is kept in the property and items such as high chairs can also be hired upon request. There are several small Co-op supermarkets within 5 - 10 minutes' walk, and a large Tesco is within 5 minutes' drive on the main road between Carbis Bay and St Ives. (online shopping and delivery to the property available) Outside: Two dedicated parking spaces to rear of property. Large terrace with table and 6 chairs, two other communal decked areas with table and chairs. Spacious lawned area and further garden area to side with washing line. Utility Room: Trelissick Court has a communal laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included and changed weekly, extras available upon request. Please bring your own beach towels. Welcome pack with coffee, tea sugar, milk and biscuits provided. Other items such as wine or fresh flowers can be provided on request. Other: Trelissick Court has a communal entrance and large hallway.

Great wk end away in lovely apartment

This apartment we stayed in was really good, very clean, nice and modern with newly fitted bathroom, en suite and kitchen lounge areas. The views are great across the harbor and it really is only a ten minute walk to the town center. Being away slightly from the harbor means a quiet nights sleep and the flat is well equipped with everything anyone would need. We will definitely stay again at this apartment, I can recommend it.

Great apartment, beautiful views!

Lovely apartment, with such beautiful views. Just a short walk down into St Ives town to its many shops and restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed and was most comfortable. The welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and sugar with some lovely biscuits on arrival was much appreciated and so thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you Juliet from the Carney's and the Morley's.

Great view, great location, spacious and clean

The property had plenty of room for my family of five. The terrace was great, there was even a grass area that the kids could play ball on. The property was well equipped, nice to find board games, dvd's, crab net and bucket and spade. The water tank did go wrong while we were there but communication was great with the agent at the time and the owner afterwards.

Practically perfect!

The apartment was welcoming from the minute we opened the door. Spotlessly clean, fabulous views and very light and airy. The sofas were comfy, there was a nice big table for us to share a meal at. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfy. The bathrooms were spot on too. We walked down to the town and back every day which hopefully helped to balance the calories we consumed in pasties and cream teas! What's not to like?

The big bonus of course is having two parking spaces, a rare treat in St Ives and although it means you are elevated where space is not quite so tricky, you are rewarded with the fabulous view from terrace and even from the sofa, of the bay with the boats bobbing about in the harbour.

We had a day out at the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek and then to Marizion to walk over to St Michael's Mount. Highly recommend both.

We will hopefully be back as life allows.

Amazing holiday home

I have to agree will all the positive reviews, having just got back from a week exploring Cornwall this apartment made for a ideal base. Very nicely decorated, clean, and with all our needs as a family catered for. The house is in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and with a beautiful view over St. Ives. Glad I choose to stay here.

This was our second visit, and had such an incredible time. The apartment is beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. The attention to detail makes it's the perfect place to relax and everything you would wish for is catered for. The location is wonderful, great views and a short walk into town. Car: not necessary


St Ives has four outstandingly beautiful beaches, each with their own character, and they are all within walking distance of Gwel Enys. Porthminster beach is the closest at approx 7 minutes' walk and has a wide expanse of fine sand and safe bathing. Within 10 minutes,the harbour beach is a suntrap in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the town. A little further on, Porthgwidden is a smaller beach with great rock pools and Porthmeor is the surfing beach, where lessons are available.


Gwel Enys is easily accessible by car, being approx 10 minutes' drive from the A30.

St Ives railway station is less than 10 minutes' walk and this connects to the nearby mainline rail station at St Erth.

The nearest airport is Newquay, which is about 40 minutes' drive from St Ives.


West Cornwall has a wealth of charming villages and beautiful beaches to discover. Penzance and St Michael's Mount are within 20 minutes' drive. Land's End and Truro are within 30 minutes. The Eden Project, near St Austell, can be reached in less than an hour. Also well worth a visit is Porthcurno with its fascinating Minack Theatre, Telegraph museum and beautiful beach.

Further Details:

St Ives is, quite simply, gorgeous! Artists have flocked here for many years to capture the light and exquisite charm of the little granite cottages huddled around the harbour. Now, visitors can see the fruits of their labours at the Tate Gallery overlooking Porthmeor beach. Further afield Carbis Bay is a little quieter but with another beautiful beach and there is also the huge sweep of sand stretching from Hayle, with fantastic rock pools at the Gwithian end.

The town has acquired something of a reputation for good food and there are many excellent restaurants to suit all budgets. Of course, there are delicious Cornish pasties and fudge on sale around the harbour, where the famous Sloop Inn is the place to go for a pint! You can learn about the town’s fascinating history at the St Ives Museum, and explore the narrow cobbled streets, where there are many independent shops and art galleries. At the Sloop Craft Centre, you can watch various artisans at work.
