Perfectly located quiet barn in between both coasts

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to Fernleigh Barn, which is beautifully furnished and decorated, and also has a really wonderful bathroom with a double width bath for a good soak after an active day. Highlights for us were bodyboarding on the beaches of the North Coast, walking the lanes round the village and cycling the Bissoe Bike Trail. It was perfect for our family break.

A fantastic , well appointed holiday cottage in an idyllic location. We had a fantastic week ( me , my partner and 13 yr old son ) and were very lucky with the weather. We have stayed at Fernleigh Barn twice before and the standard has never dropped, it is beautifully clean and exceptionally relaxing with everything you require for a holiday. The location in a quiet valley is perfect with great views over the countryside and all it has to offer. A good sized private garden is a perfect place to enjoy a bar-b-que in the evening sun. Alistair and Gabrielle are ideal owners as situated next door they are approachable for any questions but unobtrusive and respecting of your privacy. I cannot recommend Fernleigh Barn highly enough as it's the best holiday home we have stayed in and we will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved this cottage. The décor was very fresh and beautifully done. The whole cottage had a feel of luxury. I have never slept on such a comfortable bed. Bedlinen soft and luxurious. Everything clean, which is important to us.

A bonus for us, we discovered it is right on the Bissoe trail. We had brought our bikes, hoping to do some cycling.

The welcome basket was lovely! Thanks for all.

Very well appointed, comfortable cottage completed to a high specification throughout.

  • 5 of 5

We were made to feel welcome by the owners who also provided an impressive welcome basket of local produce.

The cottage is presented to a very high standard and set in a lovely location. All facilities were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Location was great for visiting the area and for quieter days the garden was ideal for relaxing in.

Due to their attention to detail the owners have created a beautiful cottage.

Wonderful Barn & great location

  • 5 of 5

Cosy and homely barn. We felt very comfortable and relaxed here, and would have no hesitation returning, or recommending to family and friends,

Great welcome basket of scones with all the trimmings, fresh eggs, Cornish ale, and locally made apple juice.

Stylish and tastefully decorated with lots of wonderful little touches ..... Great bed linen and fluffy towels, fab shower and bath, very cool trendy bedside lamps, and lovely artwork.

The provision of a stairgate was much appreciated, with a 14 month explorer in residence, and not something offered in most places.

Great location to explore lots of Cornwall. We visited many places up to Newquay, over to St Ives, across to Falmouth, down to Lizard, etc etc.

The owners are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay here.

Loved it! Cannot fault this lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

You will not be disappointed - this is like a home from home, so welcoming with lovely home made scones & clotted cream, fresh eggs & Cornish beer. The accommodation is so comfortable, clean and of a high standard. A great central base for getting around Cornwall whilst also being off the beaten track.

I cannot recommend Fernleigh Barn enough, we will definitely be returning.

Activity and Interests

The barn is centrally positioned half way between the north and south coasts. Falmouth on the south coast is 15 mins drive as are most of the north coast beaches.
