It is a very peaceful location with wonderful views across acres of lush green grass. Our visitors are welcome to take a walk down to our woodland area where there is a stream and plenty of space for a picnic. Y Cartws is also located in a great spot for star gazing with it's wonderful dark sky's at night weather permitting of course. We are happy to let you fly your drone from our fields. During the month of March and April we have the busy time of Lambing our visitors are welcome to have a look at what's going on or give us a hand with the feeding of molly lambs if we have any! About Eirlys Williams

Hello, my name is Eirlys Williams. My husbands family have lived and farmed here at Maesyfelin for generations, we are the 7th here. We decided to convert Y Cartws about 12 years ago, it used to be a stable and cart-house. It has been a holiday cottage now for 11 years. I do all the job's that go with letting a holiday cottage, cleaning, advertising, paperwork, home cooking ect... We are fluent Welsh speakers, so we could give you a few lessons! Have very good knowledge of the area as we have both lived here all our lives. Also we are both always happy to help our guests with anything we possibly can.

Eirlys Williams purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Eirlys Williams chose Clynderwen

2006 is the year we converted the out building.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is in a very peaceful area. Hear the birdsong during the day, see the red kites fly above around the farm area. A walk down to our stream and woodland area is only 5 minutes. Hear the owls call in the evening and if it's a clear night it's the perfect place for star gazing with its dark sky.

It is in the middle of the three counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, so there's ample choice of beautiful beaches whichever direction you decide to go. There is a shop and garage just a mile up the road. Our nearest small town is Narberth which has plenty of little boutique style shops, coffee shops, restaurants and much much more.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"Y Cartws was a wonderful place to stay and get away from it all with some very welcoming owners. I found it to be the perfect base to explore Pembrokeshire with most places only 30 minutes drive away. I've only been away for 2 weeks and already thinking when I could return."

Great holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay at the cottage surrounded by a lot of sheeps. It was idyllic. We stayed for 13 days. We had a lot of quietness and got relaxed very well. The three dogs of the farm were the favorite of our three children.

The owner live at the cottage too and they are very helpful, friendly, cooperative and we got the chance to get an inside look into the work of a sheepfarmer. It was great! Thanks Eirelys and Paul, we often think back to the good time we had at your cottage!!

The owner provide a very good customer service, the holiday flat is clean, well-maintained and got games for Kids, DVDs and some books (used on rainy days!).

We made a lot of day trips to the castles around, to points of interest, to the seaside.

It was a great vacation for us!! Thank you!! We like to come back!!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed your vacation in Wales. It was a pleasure to have you all out with the sheep, it's nice to be able to give an insight to how a sheep farm is ran day to day and as we live just opposite the cottage we are always happy to help with anything. If ever you and your family are in Wales again you're more than welcome to stay at Y Cartws, it would be lovely to see you all. Thank you for being great guests.

Lovely country location

  • 5 of 5

We used the accommodation as a base to explore the area of Pembrokeshire from shopping in Carmarthen to the beaches in Tenby and St Davids Whitesands. The accommodation was good with a nice big kitchen area and lounge. Upstairs were two decent size bedrooms and a landing area with a comfy lounger to sit and read or just look at the stars through the velux window. The owners were friendly and we would definitely stay again if in the area. Emma

A quiet place in a lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

Y Cartws is a spaceous self catering cottage on a sheep farm. Although sheeps are clearly present in the adjacent meadows, the cottage is very quiet, light and cool during our week summer stay. The two dogs are friendly and even cheerful each time when we arrived after a day's walk in the Welsh country. definitely child friendly, spaceous (4 people fit in easily), modern and fully equipped kitchen, with TV, DVD player, etc. Ther is very little to improve on, we felt very welcome, and enjoyed staying here. Definitely a recommended place for staying some time, and suitable for all ages.
