Lochinvar Lodge Sleeps 7 (3 Bedrooms)

Lochinvar Lodge is ideally situated on the banks of its own loch. The views are magnificent and there is an abundance of wild life on the doorstep. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard with ensuite bathrooms, steam room, TV's and MP3 speakers in bedrooms.

The entrance porch leads into the hallway, cloakroom toilet, a magnificent lounge which has folding doors opening out onto the decking area with magnificent views of the loch, steps to an open plan kitchen / family room. There is a large utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and a steam/shower room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; master bedroom with ensuite shower room, two twin bedrooms with Jack & Jill bathroom, one of which has two 3/4 size beds and the other has an additional fold down bed.

There are Steps up from the decking leading to a small sun stap with additional seating and BBQ. Table tennis table in garage, bikes available for use and ample private parking.

Two beautiful properties to let with own loch and private fishing in the heart of the Glenkens – The spectacular undiscovered part of Scotland that most people never find! Lochinvar holiday homes are two beautiful restored farmhouses situated on the banks of their own loach with private fishing, an abundance of wildlife and magnificent views. Centrally located for the 7 stanes mountain bike centres and on a national cycling byway, they offer an ideal location for cyclists as well as walkers, fishing enthusiasts and families. The Galloway activity centre and Loch Ken water ski club are only a few miles away on the banks of Loch Ken. The properties are situated on an unclassified road in a quiet and very peaceful rural situation just 3 miles from St John's Town of Dalry. The pretty village has a charming main street of mainly painted harled houses and a range of convenience stores, a post office, bank and a hotel. The area offers extensive outdoor pursuits: golfing, water skiing, sailing, fishing, hill walking, cycling, bird watching etc. Fishing: Trout (brown) fishing on the Loch included in the rental price – fly fishing only Not far from St Johns Town of Dalry is the river Ken and Loch Ken suitable for both coarse and game fishing. The river Ken is known locally for its game fishing of trout and salmon whilst Loch Ken is better known for its coarse fishing, particularly Pike. Walking: The cottage is situated on the Southern Upland Way offering plenty of walking and cycling routes from the door. The Glenkens (which stretches from Carsphairn to New Galloway) is currently being hailed as the UK’s new walking destination with more than 100 walks from gentle strolls to full hikes (maps & route guides provided). Cycling: Some of the best and most exciting mountain bike trails are right on our door step. The '7 stanes' mountain bike trails offer something for everyone no matter how experienced. For those looking to stay on the road, there are miles and miles of quiet country roads. The nearest of the 7 stanes are Glentrool, Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie. Glentrool and Kirroughtree both have visitor centre offering plenty to do for all the family. Bikes are included in the property rental (for use at own risk). Bike Hire: Kirroughtree:' The Break Pad'. Castle Douglas cycle centre. Galloway sailing centre. Water Sports: Swimming on the Loch on warmer days!!! Any non powered water sports are permitted on the loch at own risk (equipment not supplied). Galloway Sailing centre which is only 8 miles away in the direction of New Galloway, offers a range of activities from sailing, windsurfing, power boating, kayaking, canoeing, archery, quad biking, mountain biking and climbing. The cottage is the smaller and perhaps more romantic of the two properties with a cosy lounge and large log burner whilst the Lodge is considerably larger offering good sized public rooms but also with open fire and log burner.Towels and linen are provided for both properties and beds will be made up for your arrival. Fishing is included in the price and you will receive a small welcome pack on arrival. There are local convince stores nearby, however the nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Castle Douglas and they will deliver to Lochinvar so it is a good idea to have the delivery of your shopping scheduled for your arrival!

20% deposit due at the time of booking with the balance due 4 weeks before your holiday. Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer.

Changeover Day:
Preferred change over day is Saturday, however, this is flexible during off peak times.
Arrival Time after 2pm, Departure no later than 10am

Notes on prices:
Minimum number of nights stay is 3, there is a 10% surcharge on the weekly prorate price for short stay bookings. Please note that dogs are welcome but there is a charge of £20 per dog.

Notes on accommodation: Both properties are provided with linen and towels and a small luxury welcome pack. Beds will be made up for your arrival. All fuel is included as well as one basket of logs. Logs can be purchased from the garage in the village. Private fishing on the loch is included with the rental. Outside: Both properties have their own private garden area and access to the loch. They are situated in 3 acres of private land at the edge of an 80 acre loch. The entrance to the loch is graded much like a beach and makes for idea swimming and non motorised water sports in the summer months. The cottage has an unusual, well sheltered brick built BBQ area close to the loch and the Lodge has a BBQ on the decking. Please note that you will need to bring your own coals. Both properties have out door seating / table for 8 + people.
