About the property

Luxury accommodation in Seahouses Just Footsteps From The Harbour And Beach

Our house in Seahouses is situated just above the beautiful harbour known as North Sunderland harbour. With literally only a few steps from the small harbour sandy beach and just a 5 minute walk from the expansive beaches linking to Bamburgh. It is a perfect setting for a large families or those seeking space and luxury. The property is set in over 5000 Sq Ft on 3 floors with its OWN CINEMA / GAMES ROOM WITH 168'' SCREEN, PRO DOLBY 5.1 3D SURROUND SOUND, For the ultimate viewing or gaming experience !! It has been extensively and tastefully refurbished and a well equipped kitchen.

Aptly named Harbour Hill House brings such an amazing surprise! Only a stone's throw from the thriving harbour of the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, this historic property is positioned on Harbour Hill and has enjoyed a colourful past; once being the main entertainment focus as the village night club in the 70's and then a museum to a gift shop.

With a total makeover recently complete the property is immaculately presented throughout and has been utterly transformed to offer deceptively spacious self catering holiday accommodation to a superior standard. The tasteful furnishings throughout Harbour Hill House are simply divine and purely drip with style. Comfortably accommodating from two to twelve guests within five bedrooms and with four squeaky clean bathrooms this property is the perfect choice for the gathering of the extended family and friends or for those couples looking for something very special! The contemporary fully fitted kitchen with dining area is a large and excellent entertainment space. A wide sweeping staircase provides such a wonderful ambience of grandeur and leads to the main lounge on the first floor; an idyllic space to relax and unwind from a day out at sea - and don't forget to explore behind the book case and discover the secret doorway......

- YOUR OWN CINEMA / GAMES ROOM WITH 168'' SCREEN, PRO DOLBY 5.1 3D SURROUND SOUND, For the ultimate viewing or gaming experience !! -

Harbour Hill House is a stone built property near the bottom of the main street of Seahouses very close to the harbour and where there are many facilities all within a gentle stroll. The village offers a good range of local shops with tea rooms, pubs and restaurants; the Chinese takeaway and Indian restaurant are well worth sampling. Enjoy a romantic wander around the harbour and watch the trawlers return with their daily catch or take a boat trip to try your luck at fishing or visit the Farne Islands to admire the seal colony and bird sanctuaries. The sweep of golden sands Beadnell Bay is renowned for is only two miles south - a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and is appealing to those who yearn to roam barefoot in the sand and listen to the lap of the waves against the shoreline.....

Three miles north is the picture postcard holiday village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, which commands the power and presence of the seasoned film set it regularly becomes and where the Grace Darling Museum is interesting to visit. The wide expanse of golden and often empty sandy beaches this region is renowned for is idyllic - the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birth place of Christianity, can be viewed from here too. A little further north is the bird sanctuary at Budle Bay and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds making this location a haven for bird watchers. The elegant Georgian town of Berwick, which straddles the salmon rich river Tweed, is 20 miles north and the historic market town of Alnwick with its own magnificent castle offers many facilities around 13 miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant set within the largest tree house in Europe.

With a choice of one to five fresh double bedrooms and one to four pristine bathrooms, Harbour Hill House is an excellent choice for the gathering of up to twelve guests seeking contemporary accommodation within the heart of the popular holiday destination of Seahouses and makes an excellent base to explore the twenty miles of Heritage coastline this region is proud to have designated as An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

About duncan allan

Hi there, we live in beautiful Northumberland, UK and have 2 children. As they were growing up we always looked for holidays where we had plenty to do but where we were also happy to spend time in our own house. We like a better style living and so the properties we own all reflect this. We have Two large houses which are available for short term (holiday) lets. They have been extensively refurbished and provide a clean, fresh, look and feel. We wanted to provide ample space and luxury for a family to live in while enjoying a holiday. We love spending time in our houses and hope that you will enjoy them too.

Duncan & Louise.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Fabulous place to stay, Our party consisted of 9 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs. We all had a fantastic time at Harbour Hill House. Very clean, very well appointed, lots of room for family meals and also plenty of opportunity to get away from the crowd! The children and adults all enjoyed the cinema room and the games made available. Would definitely go back!"

"We booked for the Easter week for a party of 12 (age range 3 to 60's via two teenage boys) plus 2 dogs. It is really very hard to fault the accommodation and despite the size of our group there always seemed to be plenty of room in the very spacious and well equipped rooms. Fabulous well equipped kitchen where we could all easily sit around for meals cooked on the large range cooker was a real plus as was the boot room for storing bikes and golf clubs and the sheltered outside enclosed space/terrace to the rear of the property where the pre dinner glass could be taken. Location was perfect with ready access to the town, the beach and wonderful coastal walks. Also there are some excellent golf courses nearby with special mention for Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course at nearby Embleton. The town provides several eating places inc v special fish and chips as recommended by the Hairy Bikers!

Wonderful places to visit nearby like Bamburgh with its magnificent beach and spectacular castle, the mystical feeling of Lindisfarne/Holy Island and Alnwick Castle for the gardens/fountains and the Harry Potter connection.

All in all it was a perfect week and will we come back? You can put money on it!

Oh I forgot the cinema room with controllable but deafening surround sound which was a huge hit with the grandchildren!

amazing property

walking through the door we were all amazed at how lovely Harbour hill house was, there's a huge well equipped kitchen with breakfast area and plenty of space for everyone to sit, a lovely touch was homemade cake, bread, milk fresh flowers are waiting for us which was very welcoming, the house has something for everyone, all bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and tidy, the living room is very cosy and the hidden staircase was a thrill for all, there's a lovely secure garden at the back of the house with a bbq and plenty of seats for all, last but not least at all is the cinema room, what can I say but WOW it's amazing and entertained us all, the house is ideally located very close to the harbour and plenty of shop's, restaurants and pubs on the doorstep, a short trip up the road are the beautiful beaches and Bamburgh castle, we were a party of 8 adults 3 children and a little dog (who also had lots of surprises for her) we were holidaying together as it was a year since we suddenly lost our brother/son, so it was important for us to be together, we all enjoyed this beautiful holiday house and highly recommend a stay here, the owners are very helpful if any enquiries crop up which only 1 did and Duncan came straight away and was very helpful, Overall we enjoyed it that much we're hoping to book up again for next year, Only 1......problem we weren't there long enough
