Our Villa enjoys sea and countryside views, and is situated on a private gated condominium in the small hamlet of Salir do Porto, overlooking Sao Martinho, approximately 1.1/4hr easy drive north of Lisbon. Shared pool, short walk to beach, shops and restaurants. The house is tastefully furnished with a contemporary feel and sleeps up to six guests. The villa is also equipped with a 40' TV, & DVD player, varied collection of DVD's are available.

Portugal's Silver Coast is still relatively undiscovered; perfect for relaxing and exploring. The coastline has miles of rugged coastline, small sandy bays and historic medieval towns to discover. Activities to suit everyone from paddling to surfing can be found nearby.

Hi we are Debra and Ray and thanks for looking at our villa!.

Our story starts many years ago when Ray was a 'young man' travelling through Europe ....he discovered Sao Martinho Bay on the Silver Coast and was struck by the uniqueness of the bay and the area. He always wanted to return so in 2010 we travelled there and fell in love with the area and decided to buy a house...there and then!. Our plan is to retire there and enjoy spending time indulging our hobbies surrounded by wonderful views, people and climate!

This comfortable, well equipped, spacious house is only an hours easy drive from Lisbon.

It is situated on a small, quiet, modern complex with lovely views down to Sao Martinho do Porto bay....a perfect bay with calm seas for swimming and a clean safe beach.

A car is recommended as it is a great central base for some wonderful days out.

This is an unspoilt part of Portugal...lots to see and fabulous inexpensive restaurants..and cheap wine..vino tinto!!

Great town house over looking the bay

Delightful house in a quite gated area 10 minutes drive to the bay. A lovely heated pool which we often had to ourselves. A great supermarket at the bottom of the hill which has lovely fresh bread everyday even on Sunday's.

Such a lovely place, Debra was so helpful before our trip and emailed recommended restaurants and very detailed instructions to get there, views were so great, pool was warm and having beach equipment to take to the beach was so good to, recommend staying here 100%

A great villa in a superb location

The villa was exactly as described. Very clean and comfortable with loads of space.

Set in a lovely location with sea view of San Martinho. The short walk along the boardwalk to San Martinho was lovely with nice restaurants and cafes. Our favourite cafe was situated on the beach at the far end of the town.The owner Debra was extremely helpful and very efficient communicating with us. We would definitely recommend this villa. It is situated in a quite area with a lovely beach that stretches from Salir do Porto right round to San Martinho. The are plenty go good restaurants in San Martinho but our favourite just a few minutes walk from the villa was called Lua de Pedra where all there staff were very friendly and the food was great. Lisbon and is an hours drive away and Porto is 2 hours but well worth the visit, we went twice.

Wonderful Relaxing Holiday

This is very well presented villa in a small gated development (30 villas) in a quiet residential area of a village with a sea view and very pleasant shared (heated) pool.

The villa was clean, well maintained, well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The owners had left a small food hamper with some essentials which was great when we first arrived. The beds are very comfortable and the shutters are really effective blackouts which meant that we (as well as our teenagers) slept really well. The development was very quite and well maintained with weekly ground, and pool maintenance.

There is a good local supermarket 5 minutes walk away with a good selection of bakery bread and pastries (we got fresh cousins from there each morning) and had all the essentials. The larger Intermarche is a 15 minute drive away in Sao Martinho. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance with the nearest, a steak restaurant (3 minutes away) being our favourite.

The beautiful sandy beach is a 10 minute walk away although because we used some of the beech equipments which is provided at the villa we ended up driving down and parking in the free beach car park.

Sao Martinho which is the adjoining town on the bay was a lovely resort with lots of good restaurants and a nice selection of shops. This was a very pleasant place to wonder round in the evenings and enjoyed wonderful ice creams at Ruby's overlooking the beach.

This was our first time to this part of Portugal and we really enjoyed being in an area which was predominantly Portuguese, and felt very safe. The restaurants and cafes were excellent value which as a family of five (all of whom eat adult portions) was really pleasant.

We explored Lisbon parking on the outskirts and getting the metro into the centre and also went to Sintra. Both of which were really well worth the hour or so drive. The more local towns like Obidos, Alcobaca and Caldas da Rainha were really good to explore. The drive to the neighbouring beach town of Foz do Arelho was beautiful and the sailing school Escola de Vela da Lagoa there was great to hire canoes from and explore the lagoon.

In short a really special place .

This was a return trip...and not disappointed. Spacious, clean property with everything you need....shared pool, great views, safe beach, lots of cheap local restaurants and fantastic base for sightseeing. Highly recommended.

The village of Salir do Porto is on the far end of Sao Martinho Bay. Its a traditional Portuguese village with local restaurants, bars, coffee shops and local shops. Its an ideal place to both holiday and live yet its close enough to walk to the beach or into the more lively resort of Sao Martinho . The villa is located on the upper part of the village and has wonderful views of the bay and countryside. There's something for everyone....walking, surfing, golf, cycling, horse riding , beach, or just relaxing!

The Villa is situated in the small hamlet of Salir do Porto, a sleepy town with a sprinkling of shops including a mini mercardo, bars and restaurants.

The beach is just a 5 min walk away - safe and with sandunes and board walks stretching around the bay to the town of San Martinho do Porto

The historic towns of Obidos, Fatima and Tomar are within easy driving reach of the villa. Lisbon is approx 1 hrs drive away

Sao Martinho do Porto is a lovely town, just a short drive or walk from the villa and forms part of a shell shaped natural lagoon on the Atlantic Coast. The town is sheltered, has a fantastic beach ideal for families and perfect for swimming and sunbathing. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and daily markets selling fresh local fish, fruits and vegetables. A large supermarket can also be found in the town.

Foz do Alreho - Obidos Lagoon

This huge expanse of calm water and safe, sheltered beaches is a delight for walking, playing or just sitting and watching. A haven for Surfers or watching the sunset with a cocktail!

Obidos

Once the traditional wedding present of the Portugese King to his Queen, the preserved medieval town of Óbidos is without doubt one of Portugal's most classic walled settlements. The shops are piled high with local handicrafts. Be warned there are no safety rails along the ramparts if you have young children or are not very good with heights!

Budda Eden

Approx 30mins drive south you will find the Buddha Eden Garden. An area of about 35 hectares designed and conceived by Comendador José Berardo in response to the destruction of the Giant Bamyan Buddhas, sculpted in the rocks of the valley of Bamyan in central Afghanistan. The gardens are a peaceful and spiritual haven. As you wander around you will find Terracota Armies and Buddahs - a great day out for the whole family.

Our villa is situated on a small gated condominium of 28 villas. There's a communal pool which has great views across the valley to the bay. As this is our second home, the villa is furnished the house as a 'home' not a rental villa so guests can enjoy, relax and feel comfortable, including providing beach towels. Additionally there"s WIFI, Satellite TV, extensive DVD collection and even a champagne bucket!
