Further Details:

Walkers! Great for walkers. Porthallow is situated below Falmouth in the Lizard peninsular. A pretty and unspoilt fishing village, not so heavily visited as other villages along this coast and so usually rather quiet. There is no harbour but the boats are pulled up onto the pebble beach. The excellent Pilchard Inn is adjacent to the beach and the Beach Cafe is right on the beach with outdoor seating and views over the beach and sea (a profusion of boats along this stretch of coastline). There is a large free car park bordering the beach, usually with lots of parking spaces. Coverack, a few miles further up the coast, is the better known of the two villages. Again, a pretty fishing village with a few shops and eating places. St Keverne is the main and central village for the Lizard in the far west of Cornwall. Essentially just a village square with a shop, church and 2 pubs. Excellent and friendly pubs -The Three Tuns and the White Hart (good food, outdoor seating in a pleasant garden setting) worth dropping into to round off the evening. The village is centred on he village square with the war memorial in the middle. The church graveyard contains the tombstones of 400 men shipwrecked on the Manacle Rocks (the word manacle comes from the Cornish words Maen Eglos meaning church). Look for the name of Michael Joseph An Gof written on the church wall (he spearheaded the medieval Cornish peasants revolt and the march to London-against unfair taxes!). Only a few miles from Flushing and the glorious Helford River. You can take a ferry from Flushing across the Helford River to Falmouth. Flushing is a tiny harbour village with Queen Anne style houses and eating places.
