Seatons Rest is an apartment within an 17th century tile hung, typical Cornish building which is divided into just 5 apartments. Set over two floors this little gem feels more like a cottage than an apartment. Located in a quiet lane just off Portmellon Cove with its lovely sandy beach. Sleeping four in two small but comfortable bedrooms, one twin and one kingsize double. A beautiful kitchen, dining, open plan lounge configuration completes the ground floor living space. Ample private parking and sunny patio area at the front. The apartment has a luxury boutique style interior which makes this place a cut above your average holiday rental. Beautiful white fresh bed linen, robes and towels included for your stay. The cosy lounge has a wood burning stove set in a gorgeous restored original slate wall. The stunning shower room has a fantastic walk in shower with great water pressure. Underfloor heating throughout both floors ensures you will stay cosy on chillier days. Free WiFi, built in Sonos sound system and fully equipped modern kitchen. decorated in white and neutral tones throughout. The evening sun sets on the alfresco patio area at the front, perfect for enjoying sundowners before supper.

Seatons rest is well located for exploring the many activities, walks, beaches and attractions that the area has to offer and is walking distance to Mevagissey which offers plenty shops bars and restaurants. Close to The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Helicon. Superbly located fro exploring all that Cornwall has to offer. I have holidayed in Portmellon all of my life and still regularly visit with my husband and teenage son. Our apartment is a special bolt hole for us and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Amanda Barclay chose Cornwall

In the winter of 2014/15 we invested in a full refurbishment of the apartment, ripping away years of damp plasterboard and "cover it up" DIY. Seatons Rest is now restored to a beautifully styled apartment with exposed original Cornish slate walls . You will find all the modern comforts you need but with a nod to the seaside setting and the buildings past. We are superbly located for exploring Cornwall and its many attractions. You can do as much or as little as you want to here. Getting out and about is easy, there is great walking and Cornwall has so many great places to visit, but if you just want to chill out, it doesn't come much more relaxing and laid back than Portmellon and Seatons Rest.

What makes this apartment unique

Very close to the beach but well sheltered from the sea, a lovely sun trap on the front patio, great for morning breakfasts and sundowners. Superbly comfortable inside, really well equipped and very cosy. A modern boutique styling provides the ultimate holiday getaway environment. Sufficient parking for 3 vehicles and walking distance to pubs, restaurants and small shops at Mevagissey. Portmellon is perfect as it is away from all the hustle and bustle of Mevagissey but this is all within easy reach when you want it.

Notes on accommodation: We do not provide infant facilities. As there is a hard tiled floor downstairs and no bath, Seatons Rest may not be best suited to very young children, but is suitable for over 5's. please note that although the property is only a few yards from the beach there is NO SEA VIEW at the apartment . Outside: At the front there is a patio with a picnic style table for dining out and a decked area with 2 outdoor wicker armchairs , and a coffee table. Ample private parking for 3/4 cars in front of the apartment for the sole use of Seatons Rest guests. The patio is a lovely sun trap in the afternoons. Barbecuing is permitted on the patio area but there is no BBQ provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: duvets, pillows, hotel quality white cotton bedlinen, bathroom towels and robes are included. No beach towels provided. The apartment is cleaned on changeover day,beds are made up with fresh linen ready for your arrival. Welcome pack on arrival. Other: Entrance Lobby with tiled floor and underfloor heating, coat hook

Just perfect!

Myself, my partner and our 4 year old daughter have just returned from a week in Cornwall, staying in Portmellon at Seatons Rest. The apartment was perfect for us, perfect location as well as being tastefully decorated with all the mod cons. We were able to walk into Mevagissey for lunch/dinner and there is a small bay just at the end of the road so we would wander down each morning and evening to admire the view. The location is great to explore further afield in Cornwall too. I can't rate this place highly enough, it's been renovated to a very high standard. Can't wait to return in the near future. So glad we chose this apartment.

Beautiful, well maintained property.

We have enjoyed our week at Seatons Rest, we have stayed in Portmellon for many years. Since the property has been renovated this our first stay and we definitely can't wait to return. Very homely, relaxing and modern throughout. A lovely welcome pack on arrival. Close to a quiet beach, plenty walks in the area and a little pub to sit and watch the world go by. Will definitely be booking again!

A stylish apartment in Portmellon on the sea within walking distance of Mevagissey

We spent 5 days at Seatons Rest in early May 2017 and it is exactly as the owners claim; beautifully renovated and ideally located in walking distance of Mevagissey. Our only negative comment is that it is on the small side and we found two additional adults staying over for a couple of nights a tight squeeze. The apartment is ideal for two persons or a family with two small children.

Beautifully presented and had everything you need.

Seatons Rest is a property I shall be recommending to friends and family. The property has everything you need for a holiday in Cornwall, under floor heating (if the weathers not be kind to you) lovely powerful shower with plenty of hot water and a well equipped kitchen. Decorated and finished off to a very high standard in each room, which is something you don't always expect from a holiday home which was a real treat!

A real gem!

There are no words that can really give justice to how wonderful the fantastic Seatons Rest is!

The accommodation has period features integrated with a modern twist. From state of the art kitchen, shower room, speaker system, and under floor heating, to feature stone walls, wood burner, and ornamental pieces of history (to mention but a few).

We stayed four nights for my birthday and really didn't want to leave!

The property was well maintained and spotless. Also well equipped with utensils etc. including a bottle of fizz in the fridge!

The pub is a 10 second walk away where we got to meet some of the friendly locals. Out front of the pub is the beach and a fantastic view of the bay. Perfect!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We will definitely be booking again!

Coast/Beach:

Portmellon beach approx 50 yards away (no sea view at apartment) This is a typical Cornish cove with a sandy beach. Low tide reveals a wealth of rock pools and at high tide the beach is completely covered. As is common in Cornwall there can sometimes be seaweed on the beach. Great walking available along the Cornish coastal path here.

Newquay Airport approx 40 miles

St Austell mainline train strain approx 7 miles, National Express coach to / from this station also

Distances:

Nearest inn is at Portmellon cove, 1 mile distant is Mevagissey fishing village with a wealth of little shops and many restaurants and watering holes. This is a hilly but enjoyable walk. Goran and Gorran haven about 1.5 miles distant both offer eating and drinking places. Close to the Eden Project and The Lost Fardens of Heligan.

There is a pub in Portmellon Cove.

Further Details:

Very close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project about 9 miles, nearest supermarkets are at St Austell but there are some great farm shops around if you dont want to drive all the way to town. Loads of activities and attractions within short driving distances to get out and explore. Great walking too and ample beaches.
