About the property

Apartment in Samoens, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - A Real Home away from Home,decorated in traditional comfortable Alpine style. Quiet Central location

Our family home has been decorated to give it alpine charm and taste and make it a real 'home away from home'. The regular Ski Train Bus stop is only 50m away just outside the front of Ecrins Etoile, alternatively there is the free and regular buses that take you to the Grand Massif ski lift in 2 minutes.

We have fitted it out with top of the range Savoyard furnishings and many local touches to give it a homely feel. There is an extensive range of equipment in this MGM mountain style apartment. This warm and well-equipped apartment offers everything for a comfortable stay for 4 people at any time of the year. The apartment is very quiet and situated on the first floor. On entering there is an area for hanging coats and shelf for shoes underneath. The built-in wardrobe further down the hall offers further storage for coats; also a security safe for valuables. The hall opens out onto a delightful open plan living, kitchen and dining area with sliding doors that open onto a large south and south-west facing wrap-around balcony. There are two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms one off the hallway and one off the living room. Each bathroom has a sample selection of White Company toiletries. There is also a separate toilet off the hall. For your entertainment there is a flat screen TV (French TV), DVD player, CD player, board games, Playstation 3, and iPod connection. There is also free WiFi access throughout. The kitchen offers excellent facilities for home cooking, such as a large fridge with small freezer compartment, ceramic hob, and full size oven. We also have a NESPRESSO coffee machine with a selection of complimentary capsules. For those of you who enjoy cooking and want to turn your hand to some of the traditional Savoyard dishes there is a fondue and raclette set. The wooden dining table seats 4 comfortably and can extend for an extra 2 people. There is also a small table and chairs on the apartment’s south-west facing balcony which means so you can enjoy al fresco dining in the summer months. The apartment is furnished with locally made embroidered linens and good quality towels. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes that offer plenty of space to unpack and relax.

However, if you feel like going out then within a 2-3 minute walk there are approximately ten restaurants which cover all tastes and budgets. Alternatively, you can pop down to the new Traiteur 'Le Pied de Poule' just on the doorstep offering all types of dishes (one of my favourites is the pate 'Grandmere' ), at reasonable prices .

After enjoying several Winter and Summer breaks in Samoens, we finally bought an apartment for our family holidays. We wanted to make it a 'real home from home' and we hope you enjoy your holiday here as much as we do.

What makes this apartment unique

Our Apartment is located in a quiet area in the centre of the village with great access to all Summer and Winter past times. At night it is an easy walk to restaurants and bars. We also have it managed so if you need any help or information it is available.

All the linen and towels are provided along with a Welcome Pack consisting of a bottle of wine, milk, orange juice , biscuits, patisserie product, tea, Nespresso coffee and sugar. Cleaning, linens and towels included in the price. There are a large variety of speciality shops, supermarkets, boulangeries, patisserie and greengrocer for fresh fruit and veg in the town square every morning, all within a 2 min walk from the apartment.

A wide variety of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance catering along with a good selection of family restaurants.

The village centre also has a number of hire shops for ski and boarding equipment and bike hire in the summer.

The apartment was charming, well equipped and very clean and tidy.

The apartment is perfectly positioned in the French village of Sameon. The area is wonderful with skiing, walking, great food shops and outstanding restaurants.

The apartment is excellently appointed with absolutely everything you need to have a home from home stay in the alps.

Thanks to owners Jo and Guy for a brilliant stay in their beautiful apartment.

Also thank you to Tim and the team in alps accommodation for having the apartment warm and welcoming on our arrival.

Skiing in January

We had a brilliant time in Samoens skiing but loved the town too. The apartment was ideal with plenty of space for us to relax, eat and sleep. We were met and greeted warmly and shown the ropes. The apartment is in the centre of the village and I sent the children to buy bread every morning which took a couple of minutes. The kitchen was very well equipped and easy to negotiate. The decor is charming and the beds dreamy. Should we get the opportunity to go again we definitely will and can highly recommend Jo and Guy's apartment to anyone wanting a little bit of luxury in a beautiful corner of France.

Lovely apartment in a great location

This lovely apartment is a couple of minutes walk from the village centre and 6-7 minutes walk from the bus stop (to take you to the Grand Massif Express cable car). The property is very quiet (we didn't see another soul in the apartment building during our week) and is really nicely furnished and well equipped. It has everything you'd need for a self catered holiday and is really close to a good choice of restaurants if you want to eat out. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return myself!

A charming savoyarde style appartment with great attention to detail and luxury fittings throughout.

Everything went smoothly from booking onwards. The apartment is in a great location, convenient for the shops and restaurants a bad with a great view of the mountains. Great comfy beds complemented by top quality linen and towels. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The meet and greet and checkout were very efficient and on hand for any queries or problems. All in all a great stay and a top class service.

Fabulous and very well located appartment

My family stayed in this beautiful apartment in Samoens, March last year. You will find everything you could possibly need here as it is so well equipped. The photos are a true reflection of the apartment and it is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Extremely convenient having the underground parking and ski locker for your use. The main village square is just a short walk, where you will also find the ski hire shop which is all very easy when you have 2 young children. The village is a good base for you to access the mountain region. We were here end of March and there was still plenty of snow and it was not busy which is fantastic with young children. The Grand Massif express which services Samoens takes you to the top in minutes, where you will find an extensive ski area, along with it being great fun family skiing. I would highly recommend this apartment and I look forward to returning for another winter ski and even a summer holiday.
