About the Owner

As a well travelled couple we have seen many places and cultures. My sister who visited Kalkan approximately in 2001 and has been back many times since and kept saying we must go. After recommending it to others and them returning and telling us how amazing it was we thought it was about time we went. So in 2013 we booked and well what can we say. We loved it, its beautiful scenery, its people, its restaurants, the weather and the total relaxation and tranquillity of Kalkan.

Fantastic location, beautiful apartment

The perfect holiday!! This apartment is in such a great location and has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful relaxing holiday. Being on the ground floor it is perfect for those days spent by the pool, and is also the perfect distance from Kalkan town for a stroll during the day or evening. There are so many gorgeous places to eat and drink nearby, our favourite being The Pavilion this year to eat, and Marleys for a cocktail or two. We are just about to book again for June 2017 and can't wait :)

Location ideal for central Kalkan

We have been to Kalkan several times since 2003, it has grown since our first visit but still has its special small town atmosphere. We have previously stayed in The Yelken now a Bistro, must visit and small boutique hotels. This year through Ergen Rentals we decided on a self catering aprtment as we are a couple a large villa is out of the question and this one met our needs. The welcome pack was excellent, the transfers by Ergen rentals excellent Alper Bektas could not be more helpful even to the extent of keeing the kitchen open at the Kaya in order for us to have refreshments. Kalkan has many places to visit, Saklikent Gorge, Patara, Lycian caves and the Trout Farms, further afield hire a car to Kas and Kekova the restaurant on the sea front is incredible and the Turtles amazing. Boat trips from the harbor well worth a trip. many fantastic Restaurants, for special occasions the Gourmet, Marina and the Nar Bar for its deep frozen ice cream and the Kaya. The apartment is comfortable, the bed is comfy and the apartment throughout is well stoked. Lots of local information on hand if you have not visited before. The only negative would be that we did not have wifi which for my husband checking n his business is very important. Alper Bektas accommodated us with wifi at his business premises just up the hill. Lots of beach clubs the Kalamar is our favorite. Thanks to the owners Matt & Lucy and to Alper for all his help. We will be back.

Excellent well equipped apart in perfect location

Excellent communication between owners and us which was really re-assuring. Perfect location to get to all the facilities without having to climb too many hills!! So many wonderful restaurants it's impossible to recommend. Café Fenne at the harbour is great for a chill and nor expensive, staff are lovely. Indigo Beach Club at the harbour is excellent for swimming and sunbathing. Canoeing trip is excellent value for money and great fun.

Spacious and well maintained apartment and very well equipped.

Highly recommend here.

Last minute holiday!!

We spent a week here in June. It was a last minute decision to have a week away and this apartment was perfect for our needs. Everything we needed, pool right outside to door, sunny outside seating area and a very quiet location but still near to town and all that has to offer. Kalkan is a lovely place to visit. We will be going back :-)

Fantastic week in Kalkan!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week in May and it was the perfect apartment for us. The management team were very welcoming on arrival and helpful throughout the duration of our stay, providing us with information on local tourist attractions. Location is fantastic taking no more than 10 mins to get into the centre of Kalkan, ideal short walk home after eating too much food for dinner!

We have already recommended this apartment to friends and family! Will definitely consider coming back to this apartment if/when we return to Kalkan.

Beautiful Kalkan

Well no better review than to say that we have already booked this apartment for two weeks next year! The apartment is in a great position just 5 -10 mins walk to the beautiful old town which is full of fine restaurants and great bars overlooking a lovely harbour. The apartment is very well fitted out and being on the ground floor and immediately next to a small pool, is very convenient for popping in and out for snacks/drinks and other requirements! There is a great sense of friendliness in these apartments and they are very well serviced. We had a wonderful time and I am now recommending this apartment to all of our friends!

Location

From the Owner

After our first trip to Kalkan we decided to go back, we kept discussing how nice it would be to own an apartment here. We stayed in the Mediterranean Apartments and just loved them, the area they are situated, they are so near to all amenities and the village and the peace and quiet. So after some help from a local friend and resident we have been lucky enough to purchase this apartment and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Dalaman at 123 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Kalkan Beach at 800 Metres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

5/10 minute walk down hill to the harbour and small beach. There are also free water taxi's or a short taxi ride to local Beach Clubs. Patara beach is approx. 20 mins away by car or dolmus and is also a World Heritage Site. Also available at the Harbour are daily boat trips (booking advisable) to enjoy the stunning coast line and to snorkel in the beautiful turquoise sea.

Travel:

Dalaman is the nearest airport to Kalkan which is approx. 1.5 hours away. Taxi/mini bus transfers are easily arranged via email through a local company. Car hire is not essential but is a nice way of exploring the local area. We can highly recommend this company Ege Rentals that can arrange both, www.egerentalskalkan.com.

Most of the local areas of interest can also be reached by local transport, dolmus/taxi.

Distances:

The beautiful harbour town of Kalkan is surrounded by places to visit. These include the amazing ruins at Patara, Xanthos and Tlos, the spectacular Saklikent gorge, which we thoroughly recommend and Islamlar Mountain Village. The towns of Kas and Fethiye are easily reached by road. Kalkan Village centre and Harbour - 5 mins walk. Patara Beach/Ruins - approx. 20 mins drive. Kaputas Beach - approx 15 mins drive. Kas - approx 25 mins drive.

Further Details:

The lovely town of Kalkan has many parts of beauty and interest with its many roof top restaurants and bars where you can dine in style or just sit and take in the view of the harbour or town with its beautiful colourful streets. There are many shops selling good quality leather products, jewellery and don't miss the market on Thursdays where you can find Turkish spices, teas and fresh daily produce. There are many local supermarkets, butchers, grocers, fish monger and bakery. There are numerous banks, ATMs and post office. For those emergencies if needed there are English speaking Doctors, Dentists and pharmacists nearby.

Very comfortable apartment, so close to all amenities, a short walk to the harbour and one of our favourite restaurants and many others. The Harbour is down a short steep hill but worth it when you get there. Five pools to choose from on the complex, some slightly bigger than others, lovely scenery and well kept gardens. What more could you ask for.

  • Notes on accommodation: Our friendly Turkish English speaking team are on hand at arrival to meet and greet and help with any advise required. A welcome pack is provided on arrival in the apartment. We have 2 personal sun beds with cushions and sun umbrella for use by the pool and a patio table and chairs on the terrace. A safety deposit box is located in the apartment for your use at your own risk. This is a no smoking apartment and would respectfully ask you to only smoke outside. Outside: Our apartment is located on a small friendly well maintained complex. Use of 5 pools of different sizes, one of which is only a few steps away from the apartments front gate. Personal sunbeds are provided for those days of relaxation in the sun. The apartment has a private patio area for alfresco dining and watching the world go by on those lovely warm evenings. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen, bath and hand towels supplied. Beach towels are provided for use on sunbeds. The apartment will be cleaned and towels changed once a week. For stays longer than a week, further cleaning can be arranged at a small extra charge payable locally.
