The balcony has been replaced in January 2016 with a glass fronted, larger balcony with a spiral staircase. Now you really can relax and enjoy that spectacular view!!

Christchurch (walking distance) is a charming town with a unique location at the confluence of the rivers Stour and Avon and on the shores of its own natural harbour makes it the perfect destination to relax and unwind.

This large, airy 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is laid out over three floors and has everything you need for a comfortable holiday. It is within easy walking distance to Christchurch town centre with its eclectic range of shops and cafes / restaurants. Walking in to Christchurch is very easy and flat all the way.

The golden sandy beach is a pleasant 30 minute walk or 4 minute drive.

About Jenny Hathaway


I am Jenny and my husband Richard and I have two children Samuel and Katie.

Richard and I bought Marina View over three years ago and have been visiting regularly.

However, Samuel is a keen footballer and his fixtures are getting more regular so we thought we would holiday let the house for the weeks that we are not able to get down to the coast.

The house has been updated throughout to provide a perfect home from home and has a lovely sunny feel about it. We sought to create a perfect coastal retreat with all the amenities that we have at home.

The view is amazing and we have not tired of it yet! It changes seasonally and you often see swans, birds and large fish in the marina as well as the boats gilding past.

Why Jenny Hathaway chose New Forest

We have always loved Christchurch and the surrounding area. In my twenties I used to come here all the time and stay in Southbourne at my friends house. The relaxed pace of life and multitude of things to do always meant that I would go home relaxed at any time of year.

The house is within easy reach of Christchurch and the train station on foot so we often do not use our car when we stay.

Marina View is in a lovely location on a quiet street set off the main road backing onto the marina looking over the river Stour.

By crossing the river and following it you will get to Hengistbury head a conservation area and coastal nature reserve. At the peninsula of Henigstbury head are beautiful golden sandy beaches, a restaurant and shop and the iconic beach huts overlooking the Isle of Wight.

What makes this house unique

Marina View is in an perfect location with a quiet south facing deck and balcony overlooking the marina with a number of boats bobbing about.

However it is in easy reach of all the amenities and attractions that Christchurch and the local area have to offer. With 4 supermarkets within 3 miles , numerous restaurants and shops within 1 mile and cycle paths and walks a plenty, you really will not be disappointed whatever the weather.

You could hire a small motorised boat at Christchurch Quay and take it down the river, spend a day at Adventure Wonderland Theme Park or simply relax overlooking the river with your favourite book and beverage in hand!

This property enables us to relax, forget time and just spend days chilling and enjoying time as a family and we hope that you can do this too!

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is light and airy and has been decorated in a modern coastal style providing an ideal waterfront coastal retreat. The garage accessed from the hallway offers ideal storage for Golf Clubs and any other additional Luggage. Outside: The property also features an outdoor decking area with access to the Marina. This area is ideal for BBQs and relaxation and includes a weber BBQ Dining table and Chairs a Large Outdoor beanbag. Around the corner is a beautiful grassland area with river access for fishing (permit may be required). Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer and second fridge freezer to allow you to store any additional treats! Also in the garage is an ironing board and iron and a hoover. There is a selection of beach toys (buckets and spades, kites) which you are welcome to use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is professionally cleaned prior to each rental. High Quality White Bed Linen and bath towels and mats are provided for your stay and are included in the rental rates. Please provide your own beach towels and Cot Linen if Required Other: A travel cot and High Chair are provided at the house, (please provide cot linen if required) A hairdryer is provided in the master bedroom.

The property is fantastic - the views are amazing with 2 patios facing onto the water. It is very tastefully decorated over 3 floors.

Christchurch is beautiful with the Priory and castle as well as riverside walks. It is walking distance to the town with great restaurants.We enjoyed lovely walks to Mudeford, Hengistbury Head and Southbourne.

Bright, welcoming, well equipped, lovely coastal decor.

As a family group of 6 adults, we found the living area spacious and comfortable. Beds also very comfortable. Excellent kitchen facilities, with extra fridge/ freezer in the garage. We loved the view over the little marina and the peaceful neighbourhood, which is within walking distance of the town centre. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the bottle of wine, biscuits and card from the lovely owners, wishing us a happy stay. We found the property impeccably clean and the quality of facilities excellent. This feels like a happy home, not just a holiday property and we loved having quality family time here. Thank you so much!

Spacious, clean and great location

Jenny replied very quickly to my enquiry and was so helpful with all the information we could possibly need throughout all of our dealings.

The property is a real home from home and a relaxing place to be. Spacious yet cosy. Walking distance to town and the quay. Best of all for my 2 year old was the chance to feed the ducks from our doorstep ;-). Would absolutely hope to stay there again when we return to the area.

Short break at Marina view in Christchurch

Excellent house in a lovely location overlooking a small Marina with balconies off the bedroom and lounge to sit and take in the view.The house was very clean,well maintained and well equipped,there is plenty of information about the local area. We had excellent meals at The Captain's Table and the Boathouse, it was just a shame we were not there longer to try some of the others. I would definitely recommend this property. Contact with the owners was good, they were prompt at replying and everything went smoothly

We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful property. The view was stunning and our 3 year old loved a walk round the jetty in the morning. The house was immaculate and the welcoming wine and cookies was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend Marina View to anyone.

Booking Notes:
Following an enquiry, to secure a booking a 20% non refundable deposit must be paid within 7 days.
If you pay by credit card then a 25% non refundable deposit is payable.
The balance of money is due 6 weeks prior to arrival (or 45 days before if you are booking on a credit card)
Guests will receive a 50% refund of the total cost (minus the deposit / booking fee ) if they cancel at least four weeks before the start of the holiday.
If the balance payment is not received at least two weeks before the holiday starts, the booking will be automatically cancelled.

Changeover Day:
The changeover day is FRIDAY.
Short breaks are available excluding July and August when the minimum stay is 7 nights.
3 nights stays are charged at approximately 70% of the weekly rate and 4 nights at 80% of the weekly rate.This is subject to availability
