Traditional granite fronted fisherman's cottage centrally located in St Ives

Updated: 28-Sep-2016
2 Bedroom Traditional Granite Fronted Fisherman's Cottage - Centrally Located, 2 Minute Walking Distance To Shops, Restaurants, Harbour And Beaches

Our fully restored, traditional granite fronted fisherman's cottage is perfectly located for exploring St Ives, being located on a quiet side road, just off the main shopping street. We have worked hard to retain the seaside, cosy cottage feel and yet make a contemporary, modern home. For the 2015 season, the cottage has been fully repainted and refurnished with new beds, mattresses, leather sofas and all new quality branded bedding and towels. Accommodation is over 2 floors, with an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge downstairs and the 2 bedrooms and bathroom on the 1st floor. In bedroom 1, you will find a king-size bed whereas in bedroom 2, 2 full-size single beds. There is free wi-fi in the cottage along with a Nespresso machine. Whether you are looking for a spring/summer beach holiday, a cosy autumn/winter break or to join the annual New Years Eve fancy dress excitement, we are confident that you will enjoy your stay at our cottage.

About the Owner

We fell in love with St Ives at our first visit over 20 years ago. We have stayed in many different apartments and cottages over the years and always wanted to create something special ourselves. We hope you will appreciate our efforts to make the cottage a warm, cosy place with home-from-home comforts and quality furnishings..

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. We painstakingly maintain the original sash windows as they are such a part of old cottages. The downside is that they do not open and close quite as easily as modern windows. Its a case of authenticity vs. modern. We are glad to here that you had a good stay and look forward to your next visit.

Lovely little hideaway in St Ives

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was easy to find, being just steps away from the main shopping street in St Ives. It was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The kitchen is well equipped although I couldn't get the oven to work, maybe some instructions would be helpful? The beds are lovely and comfy and the linen is of a high quality. The bathroom is lovely, although I was quite surprised at how small the bath is, not big enough for an adult to soak in, but the shower was fine. The only slight negative for me was finding that the entrance is shared with an apartment underneath, and although the people living there are lovely I was staying on my own and was startled a few times when they came in as it sounds like they are coming into the cottage! Its fine when you get used to it though. Would suggest changing your cream rug in the front room to a darker colour, as it could do with a clean and as a first impression doesn't make you think the house would be clean, but it is, its lovely. Communication with the owners was great, they are really helpful.

I had a lovely time, thank-you for your thoughtful equipping of your lovely cottage.

lovely cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is in a really convenient location within a very short walk of the main shopping area. Inside has been furnished to a very high standard with a lovely attention to detail and comfort. The owners are very helpful and organised and provided excellent help and information. Once you have unpacked your car, I would recommend leaving it in the leisure centre car park and buy a weekly ticket from the one-stop shop in the library (just around the corner from the cottage). £47 per week but it covers you for parking in lots of other car parks around Cornwall so very handy for days out

Thanks very much for a great stay!

A needed escape in st ives

  • 5 of 5

i stayed here with my two children for a week in April. It was perfect for us. The two spacious bedrooms were bright, comfortable and clean. The space is well set up and welcoming. We enjoyed many evenings walking back from the beaches and having cozy evenings in. The location is ideal and very close to town, cinemas, stores and beaches- but quiet too.

The owners were exceptionally helpful and very approachable.

Would definitely return here. A

  • Like so many places in St Ives, we do not have private parking at the cottage. However, the cottage is located on a no/through lane so for loading and unloading, you are able to pull up outside the front door without the pressure of other cars behind. Parking is available in one of the various long-stay car-parks in St Ives, the closest being just 50 metres from the front door. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Quality bed linen and Egyptian cotton hand/bath towels (hand and bath towel per person) are included in the price. All new for 2015! The Cottage is cleaned once a week. Other: Storage cupboard with iron and ironing board, hoover, mop and bucket, drying rail and high-chair (beach equipment is also stored in here).
