About Deni Dimova & Kate Hocking

We moved to Pointe du Hock in February 2014 after a 9 month trial run in 2013. David and Maureen are retired. Kate & Ben and their partners work the small holding, producing fresh vegetables and raising livestock - chickens, ducks, sheep, guinea fowl etc. We also have two cats and a Border Collie.

The family lived in Moretonhampstead, Devon for 25 years. After careers in the Civil Service, David freelanced as a Training Consultant and Maureen ran a 24 cover Restaurant, "Hocks", before raising the family.

Ben and Kate have travelled widely to Arizona, Ecuador, Thailand, Bulgaria etc. and have developed a wide knowledge of self-sufficiency principles, that are now being put into practice.

We love the Limousin for many reasons, the spectacular countryside, the perfect climate for growing, and the space and tranquillity, to name a few!

The area is easily accessible with Limoges airport less than a 45 min drive away. We are also only a short drive away from beautiful swimming and fishing lakes, many charming villages, bars, restaurants, cinemas, train station, free tennis courts, shops and markets.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The property backs onto the "Trois Eglise" walking circuit, taking you through picturesque villages, country lanes and spectacular woodland. Also accessible by bike for the more adventurous!

Kate and Deni are keen cooks and are happy to cater for evening meals or special occasions, they particularly enjoy making creative cakes and party food.

As we are a working small holding, those who would like are welcome to join in with any of the daily activities, such as collecting fresh eggs, feeding the animals and harvesting the veg!

Welcoming and helpful

We thad a lovely couple of weeks stay here earlier this year. We had some super walks and spent time in the garden watching the wildlife, chickens and sheep, enjoying the views playing with the puppy! Then inside, cosy by the fire (it was january!) and off to our comfy bed. Highly recommended, the family are very welcoming and so helpful. L & W.
