Cottage in Churchdown, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England - Rural Location Within 10-15 Mins Drive Of Central Gloucester & Cheltenham

The Outhouse is a beautifully appointed, self-contained out-building. It includes a large bedroom, high quality bathroom with bath and shower, large living area/lounge with integral fully-equipped kitchen and parking for 2 cars or more. About Sarah Stanton

We are a family of 4 with 2 young children (as well as a spaniel called Roxy, chickens, bantams, 2 goats and 2 sheep!). The opportunity to rent out accommodation became increasingly apparent as "The Outhouse" was in limited use other than by family on visits. We took about the task of upgrading it to be as special as possible. The infrastructure, both internally and externally, was almost perfect already - we just needed to invest in furnishings, which we haven't held back on. Given a chance we chill out in there when we can. We book it out for ourselves too!

Sarah Stanton purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Sarah Stanton chose Cotswold district

The setting - it's amazing. We spent a long time looking for the right place for our family. The opportunity to rent out our "Outhouse" to business people and holiday makers was an added bonus. We've taken this opportunity very seriously and have focused on attention to detail. It's been available from the beginning of 2015 but we spent several months in 2014 getting it ready. For example, the wifi has been professionally installed as we felt the signal from the main house was too weak. The brand new TV lacked on the sound quality so we bought a special unit to make it sound far better. We could go on...

What makes this cottage unique

It's very close to both Gloucester and Cheltenham but in a rural setting. The tree-lined drive - as you approach it - puts you in the right frame of mind after either a social or business trip.

Amazing wildlife (green woodpeckers for example) is abundant.

It's the perfect place to relax with many rural attractions, but close to city life.

We had a very enjoyable relaxing break. Everything you could need and want for a week in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside was there. Thank you for having us!

Beautiful property, with everything we needed in a beautiful setting.

We had such a lovely time here, Sarah the owner and her family are so friendly and warming and really looked after us, she even gave us fresh eggs on morning. The only down fall is we didn't book it for longer, will be coming back again, loved it. Beautiful and relaxing place to stay.

Idylic setting, welcoming host

  • 5 of 5

From first impressions to a last farewell, there was no fault to find - Sarah could not have been more welcoming.

Cosy place with plenty of character too - lovely woodland walks, amid quiet and peaceful surroundings.

I am already looking for a gap in bookings to make a return visit.

Thanks for a great few days.

Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

A short stay but very flexible accommodation with 2 grown up kids, everything we needed , clean and cosy and great walks on the doorstep for the dog. And thanks to Sarah for being so great about our later than planned arrival and the fresh eggs for breakfast. Would love to make a return visit.
