About the Owner

We live in Scotland and Sheildaig Farm at Loch Lomond was our home for 17 years. We ran the house as a luxury bed and breakfast and enjoyed this lifestyle for many years before now letting the house and grounds out as a holiday home so others can enjoy the country lifestyle and surrounding countryside . We live nearby and work in Glasgow.

I have just come back from a fantastic long weekend at Sheildaig Farm with friends. The house is beautifully decorated and well equipped. Lesley even kindly bought some everyday groceries to start us off. Perfect location for exploring Loch Lomond. Lesley supplied us with information on things to do and places to go for dinner. I would highly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back!

Excellent facilities and location

We booked this farmhouse for a surprise birthday weekend for my wife who comes from Dumbarton and has extended family and friends in the area

The location was excellent, especially for our grandson of under 2 years of age, Great layout, very family friendly and loads to see and do being on the doorstep of Loch Lomond and the National Park.

I would certainly recommend this to anyone planning a week away, Near enough to main routes, (adjacent to A82 and A 811), services and facilities like shops are all fairly close by in Alexandra and Balloch, (5 minutes in the car), etc but also remote enough to give you the feeling of being away from it all. For the golfers amongst us, Loch Lomond, Dumbarton, Cardross, Vale of Leven are all on the doorstep and a short car trip opens up the opportunity to play a wealth of others on the West Coast

Sheildaig Farm is surrounded by fields and woodland with beautiful walks up onto the hillside where you can look down onto Loch Lomond. With chickens in the garden and a horse in the field nearby it is a relaxing place in the country but only a 5 minute drive from the nearest Village and shores of Loch Lomond, 5 minutes from the local train that takes you to Glasgow or a 25 minutes drive from Glasgow Airport.

The property has lovely gardens and a cobbled courtyard with some of the bedrooms in the annexe, these rooms have their own entrance so for smaller families the main farmhouse is sufficient, but for bigger families or a number of couples you have the addition of these rooms with their own ensuites and private entrances.
