The cottage has its own private patio with garden table and 4 chairs and hot tub with gazebo . It is within the small hamlet of Eastleigh that rests on an elevated position overlooking the little white town of Bideford, Lundy Island and the North Devon coastline.

About Chris and Carol Heard

We moved down from Surrey in Dec 2013 looking for a location closer to the family farm in Hartland.

Chris was born and brought up North Devon and as a result has a wealth of local knowledge which he happily passes on to any guest that needs direction.

We love the peace and tranquillity at the Pines and live here happily with out friendly Boxer Daisy.

Why Chris and Carol Heard chose Bideford

Eastleigh is a peaceful little hamlet 3 miles from Bideford and 9 miles from Barnstaple, We are 3 miles from the beach at Instow with its pubs and restaurants and close to many local attractions such as cycling on the Tarka trail Golf on one of the many courses, walking the many picturesque coastal paths or on Exmoor. Surfing at Westward Ho, Woolacoombe or Croyde & Bude or seeking out local produce at the farmers markets in Appledore,Barnstaple or Bideford.

Lynton and Lynmouth are a 45 minute drive away and the beautiful gardens of Rosemoor are a must for all gardeners. Not forgetting the cream teas so expertly done at Duncton Mill & the Hockings ice cream, the area is crammed with wonderful things to while away the time come rain or shine.

What makes this apartment unique

Notes on accommodation: Both cottages have central heating, luxury toiletries, towels and bed linen, digital TV, DVD player, radio, a selection of books, boxed games, ironing board and Iron. Travel cots are available. Access to 7 acres of gardens and grounds. Vine cottage has a log fire (sack of logs provided) hot tub in its own gazebo available from April 2015. Outside: The Linhay has a paved area in front with garden table, chairs and sun umbrella. It has access through the courtyard to walks in the mature gardens, an attractive orchard and paddocks beyond that give lovely views over Bideford, the north Devon coast and Lundy Island. Private parking is included. A shared BBQ area is available by arrangement. Vine Cottage has its own patio and seating area, hot tub and gazebo overlooking the mature gardens.

Restful retreat in a nice location

Ideal location to visit the Bideford area, really easy to get to all the local costal areas as well, very restful location and made to feel very welcome by Chris and Carol, will hopefully returning very soon.
