About the Owner

Paul and Anne-Louise love North Devon and would like to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We live in the grounds about 200m from the holiday cottage so for any queries or advice, come and see us.

We have two boys; Alexander (4 years) and Elliot (3 years) as well as two spaniels; Monty and Bertie.

In our spare time, we enjoy going the many beaches close by with the kids and dogs.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"High Park House is a perfect venue for a large family gathering, which is where 13 of us stayed. The house ticked all of the boxes, with plenty of space both inside and outside for our large family to roam and seek space from each other, especially in the wonderful indoor heated pool and hot tub..

Everything that we needed was there, from the games room where the children congregated, to the separate lounge for peace and quiet. Of special note was the bedrooms, most with en suites, and amazingly, large, comfortable beds, that we all sank gratefully into each night, after a lovely day exploring the local beaches and countryside.

Thank you Anne-Louise and Paul, for proving us with all of the support we needed, from unloading our shopping to being available when we needed you."

Fantastic house and pool

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a fantastic time here. The house and rooms are massive! We really enjoyed both sorts of pool – the indoor pool which was a great hit with the kids and also the pool table which was a great hit with the adults in the evening. It was also lovely to have a couple of catered meals. The gardens are huge and the kids enjoyed exploring around the lake. Would def recommend it to friends and family looking to get away together – great idea having 2 lounges – one for kids and one for adults. We will be back!

Exceeded all expectations

  • 5 of 5

The house was presented in immaculate condition and the owners happily accommodated our special requests. We spent Christmas at the property and the owners provided two decorated Christmas trees along with a welcome cream tea and wine hamper.

The amenities were amazing especially the swimming pool which was maintained at 31 degrees. The house was always warm too. Excellent location near to coast.

Would definitely like to return!

Amazing stay in North Devon

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic house.......we hired this huge property for a weekend with our large family......16 of us in all. It's a beautifully kept place and and so much room available and the facilities are excellent. Kitchen is vast and full of all the amenities needed, 2 big lounges, lovely dining room, boot room, utility room, soooo many bedrooms which were all very clean and tidy and lovely soft mattresses. The weather for for was poor, but no problem at all.......just got into the wonderful new indoor pool which was so warm....almost like a bath.

This is a top place and I would recommend to anyone.

Family week

  • 3 of 5

15 of us stayed for a week in October. The house was very clean , there was a welcome basket of essentials plus some home made scones, bread. The bedding and towels supplied are of boutique hotel standard. The kitchen is well equipped which helps when catering for so many people. The pool is lovely although there are only three chairs provided for people wishing to spectate and there is nowhere to hang towels etc . Some of the bedrooms could do with mirrors placed near plug sockets to make it easier when drying hair and getting ready. The conservatory was unusable due to an infestation of flies which also affected the bedroom above by making it impossible to have the window open.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are glad that you found the house so clean and that you enjoyed the welcome basket. We do think that our guests enjoy a Devon cream tea on arrival. Speaking to others in your party during the week, they all said ‘what a fantastic place you have here’. We appreciate constructive feedback and so will buy some towel hooks and additional seating for the pool as well as additional mirrors. We were surprised to read your comments about the conservatory. We checked the conservatory 10 days after your visit and only found 7 flies. I think infestation is rather an overstatement. We do live in the countryside surrounded by hundreds of acres of field and woodland so there will always be a couple of flies buzzing around and they do love conservatories! We were sorry we had to ask you to pay for damages caused during your visit, but the wall paper that was ripped off the wall in the room the children stayed in as well as the biro marks made on the pool table do need to be rectified for the benefit of our next guests. Thank you.

Best Family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

This house was brilliant for Christmas as there was plenty of room for all of my large family. It looked really Christmassy when we arrived as there was a real tree up in the hall way. The house is stunning and all the bedrooms are huge. There is plenty to do and we even ventured on the beach on boxing day. Having a log fire in the lounge was really cosy. The house was lovely and warm – thanks for the tour of your bio mass heating system. It was lovely being all together and the toys, books and games left in the house were great. What a great Christmas! The house was absolutely beautiful and I would thoroughly recommend a stay!
