Apartment in El Faro, Mijas Costa, Costa del Sol, Spain - Peaceful Location Set In Mature Gardens With Pool & Close To Beach, Restaurants, Bars, Golf Courses

Situated just a five minute stroll from El Faro beach with its fantastic fish restaurant overlooking the sea, its beach bar and chiringuito, local restaurants with diverse cuisines and shops and supermarkets. This stylish 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is perfectly located for a superb holiday whether you want a quiet relaxing get away from it all holiday or mad whirl do as much as possible! The apartment is comfortable and tastefully furnished to provide a special holiday home from home. It is located on the pretty El Faro urbanisation, Mijas Costa, which is situated just off the coast road approximately half way between La Cala de Mijas and Fuengirola and about 25 minutes drive from Malaga airport. The apartment is on the ground floor and leads from the sun terrace on to well tended mature gardens enclosing the community run pool and toddlers pool. There is a cafe/bar, a restaurant and a supermarket just the other side of the gardens, so no driving necessary! The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and there is also a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Both bedrooms and the living area have air conditioning and there is WiFi to keep you in touch with family and friends. A short drive will take you to either the seaside and shopping town of Fuengirola or to the beaches of La Cala de Mijas with its many bustling bars and restaurants; a little further on are the stunning sandy Cabopino beaches and marina, old and new Marbella and of course Puerto Banus - an essential outing for people and yacht watching! Beautiful old Mijas pueblo is a short pleasant drive inland through the pine forests and further afield are Córdoba, Ronda, Granada and Gibraltar - and of course no visit to Andalucía would be complete without a day out in historic Málaga. The Mijas area is renowned for its excellent golfing facilities and there are a large number of golf courses within easy reach of El Faro, including El Chaparral. Fuengirola marina is a 5 minutes drive away, Selwo Dolphin park a 15 minutes drive, Tivoli World, Benalmadena Sea World and Marina, crocodile park and water park all within 20 minutes drive. For nightlife, Fuengirola has bars, restaurants and clubs galore. Should you want to just chill, everything that you need is here within easy reach so car hire is not essential. There is however a very good bus service for the odd foray beyond the apartment, gardens and pool. This is a beautiful coastal area with easy access to all the Costa del Sol attractions and facilities yet a world away from the day to day hustle and bustle. There is simply so much to do here and the apartment is so central, whatever your tastes.Come and enjoy!

El Faro Paradise.

The property and facilities were above expectation and the location was excellent. The local bars and restaurants were all visited and were also to our expectation It was only a short ride to the local towns of Fuengirola and La Cala which had everything that you would need.

The property was well positioned and quiet, much to our delight, and was clean and well maintained with the description being accurate and concise. We would have no hesitation in staying at this property again or recommending to friends.

Excellently located and equipped apartment

The apartment was well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a quiet location that was in walking distance to bars and restaurants, Jackie the owner was on hand to answer any questions we had. We had a lovely week and will definitely be looking to return in the future.

A beautiful apartment in a lovely resort

We arrived at 1pm and as planned Jackie was there to meet us.

She'd been really helpful in the build up to our trip with rapid responses to email enquiries.

The apartment was as described. The extra on suite was a real bonus for our 19 year old daughter.

The WiFi enabled us to download our newspapers daily and log in to our emails etc.

It's our 5th time in the Fuengirola area and this was our best stay by a mile.

The local restaurants were great. Particularly El Patio (fantastic 3 course meal for 17 Euros) Great quality food and fantastic service.

We didn't hire a car so we did one large shop at Eroski in the nearby Miramar centre and got a taxi back.

The shop on the complex also stocks plenty at reasonable prices.

The on site pool was as described just across the lawn. It was a good size for swimming, it was clean and never too busy.

We visited several of the beaches towards Marbella (cabopino and Cala de Mijas) and whilst they were lovely our favourite beach was the local El Faro beach with its cushioned sun loungers. It is a 6/7 minute walk down a tree lined path. Look out for the parakeets.

The M220 bus which runs every 30 minutes stops at the bottom of the resort. You can take this to marbella or fuengirola. It only cost 1.54 euros to Cabopino- great value.

I could say so much more and it would all be positive but I will finish by saying the aircon was top notch.

Great apartment, brilliant holiday

I booked this apartment at very short notice, having spoken to Jackie directly over the phone, she was very accommodating and accepted our booking. All details were dealt with in a quick and easy manner. It takes approx 25mins to get to the apartment from Malaga airport, Jackie provides directions which was very useful. Jackie was there to greet us at the apartment and showed us where everything was. Everything you will need during your holiday is available in the apartment. The apartment itself is very clean and spacious, there are also sun loungers if you wish to sunbathe on the terrace. The pool is lovely very clean and the right temperature. There is a supermarket, bar and restaurant 2mins away from the apartment, the supermarket has all the essentials you will need. There is a bus stop within walking distance, I caught the bus a couple of times into feungirola, the bus is easy to catch and goes twice an hour. In El Faro there are a few shops and restaurants and a beach which again is all within walking distance. Overall myself and my sister loved our holiday and would definitely return to this apartment.

Enjoyable break

The apartment was exactly as described in the listings. The photographs of the property are accurate and give a true impression of the apartment. We found it to be well maintained in good condition and very clean. On arrival we were met by Jackie who talked us through all the various aspects of the property.

In particular we found the terrace a lovely place to sit in the morning sunshine while eating our breakfast. The restraunt across the complex was very good, especially the set menu. The hire of a car allowed up to explore the area and visit the beautiful town of Ronda in the mountains.

A lovely apartment in a tranquil setting

We arrived at lunch time. Jackie was there to meet us and show us the apartment. It was beautifully clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped.We had lunch on the sunny terrace and enjoyed the tranquility. We found several places to eat within walking distance including El Patio just across the gardens and Villa Tropicana on the beach. Although the pool wasn't open when we were there it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the apartment.

Jackie addressed a couple of our suggestions and we enjoyed it so much that we will be returning later in the year.

I bought the apartment in November 2014 and chose this area because I have got to know it well over the years and have become very comfortable holidaying and now living here. The sea is close by, it is within easy reach of a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, there are many different things to do for all age groups and it can also be sublimely peaceful and relaxing. The food and wines are fantastic - oh and of course there is all that beautiful sunshine and warmth!

Outside: Sliding doors lead from the lounge to the private terrace which has a sun awning and is surrounded by flowers and shrubs. There is a table and 6 chairs for outside dining. There is also a barbecue for use on the terrace. A gate leads on to the well tended gardens where you can relax on the lawn with a book or maybe have a doze. The community run pools are a very short walk across the lawn. There is a full size pool and a toddlers pool.
