House and Cottage in Coalbrookdale - Just off the Whafage With Easy Access To Museums

The area is perfect for a family holiday, or a long weekend away with friends. Located just opposite Dale End Park, across the road from a supermarket, and just a gentle stroll besides the River Severn to the bars and restaurants.

Furnished to a high standard, the house benefits from a well-equipped kitchen, comfy couches, and we put duvets on our SilentNight beds.

We like our guests to feel comfortable when they're here and so the property will have been professionally cleaned and you'll find fresh towels on the beds.

Ironbridge is on the doorstep of the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area isn't too large to explore by car, in a weekend; or if you're keen on walking, take the week. Ironbridge is also close to Telford with regular buses from the car park around the corner.

The house is within a few minutes from a well-stocked Cooperative Supermarket, Dale End Park, The Malthouse (live music on the weekends, (typically indie rock)), and The White Hart, which serves great food, wine and beer.

The amenities of Telford has improved greatly over the last few years and now benefits from all of the chain restaurants, many shops, and a selection of high-specification cinemas.

The Neighbourhood

Dale End Park is very well maintained by the local council. There's plenty of space for everyone and there's a great play area for kids. It's so good it makes me want to be a little younger than I am!

Getting Around

There is parking for one car outside the front door, further parking is available at day rates (£2.00), or depending on our reservations, we may be able to offer you a second parking space free of charge.

Buses to Telford and Shrewsbury operate from the local car park. Telford is nearest local train station.

Other Things to Note

For bigger groups we have a second property just across the car park. Sleeping arrangements are identical to this one. If the calendar is booked for this one, perhaps send us an email anyway. We may be able to accommodate you.

Cooperative Supermarket (7am - 10pm) There's a cash machine just outside.

Brilliant cottage in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge

Our cottage had excellent facilities which combined with its central location made our stay comfortable and allowed us to explore the area with ease. On reflection we should have booked it for a longer period of time so that we could have taken more advantage of the many attractions and museums nearby. We would highly recommend this cottage and the area surrounding it.

onvenient base for a lovely holiday

We found the location ideal - easy walking to several of the Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale museums, lovely countryside on your doorstep, and very handy Co-op supermarket - open 7 days a week 7-10 - only a stone's throw away. We stayed at no3 - the blue cottage. It is attractively furnished, as can be seen from the pictures, although the TV is pretty small - smaller than the one pictured at the other property - and there is no freezer compartment to the fridge. Light sleepers may wish to be warned that the cottage-style latches are rather noisy to operate. There were a few issues with our property which had apparently not previously been brought to the attention of the owner so if you will be using the single bedroom, you may want to check whether door has been fixed so that it will close, and if you like a cool bedroom while the central heating is on, you may want to check whether the radiator valve cap from the main bedroom has been replaced (or take pliers to turn it off!). Another tip - suggest you get owner's phone number before you set off in case you should need to make contact as the phone number on the Owner's Direct system is completely wrong - it appears to be a German number! We will be pleased to make a return visit here.
