About the property

Trearddur Bay, Anglesey, North Wales, - Two Minutes Walk To Blue Flag Beaches

Seagull Cottage is a delightful modern cottage in beautiful Trearddur Bay. Seagull Cottage can slepp up to six guests and is furnished to a high standard being fully equipped for family holidays. We have some of the finest beaches in Wales on our doorstep which makes Trearrdur the ideal base for traditional beach holidays or exploring the island of Anglesey. Within walking distance of the cottage there are great family food pubs serving local produce and spectacular views across the bay. The sea is 100 metres away and visible from our living room. The village is small but has two convenience stores one of which has a cafe and one is a post office and Spar, within walking distance there are four pubs with excellent food and an excellent eat in or take away Chinese Restaurant.

In nearby Holyhead there is a retail park with the usual supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons etc) and retail outlets, and the usual McDonald's, KFC etc.

The local leisure centre is a mile away and offers many activities including a heated indoor swimming pool with toddler / children's pool and has a disabled access hoist and disabled and family changing rooms.

South Stack Lighthouse is an interesting excursion which you can visit by buying a ticket at the RSPB visitor centre and descending the hundreds of steps down the cliffs. You can then do the tour and see the light. Porpoise, seals, puffins and other sea life are often visible here. Disabled guests cannot descend the steps but can get an excellent view from nearby Ellen's Tower by using the fairly level access path to the RSPB observatory. We can advise on other fun excursions.

Great base to explore Anglesey

  • 5 of 5

Loved the bungalow! Very spacious, well equipped and beautifully decorated to remind you exactly where you are - the beach.

Excellent places to eat within walking distance. Spent a good few hours at The Black Seal just drinking coffee in the sun whilst reading, before returning for some of the best dinners. Breakfast at The Sea Shanty before walking around the bay a few times just enjoying the breeze and sunshine. Plenty of leaflets in bungalow to suggest days out, went to Beaumaris but unable to get trip to Puffin Island (book in advance). Drove round north of island to Bull bay and Red Wharf bay and just sat and enjoyed the scenery. Visited south stack twice - both times it was windy and raining but well worth the trips. Might have walked there if weather had been better as it is only about 3 miles from bungalow.

Information provided at booking was spot on and Richard was extremely helpful with all queries.

In summary, an excellent break. Hope to return sometime, possibly with children and/or grandchildren but would recommend for all ages.

Stayed here with School friends at the end of June. Superb cottage with everything you need and more.

Very comfortable and spacious, the futon in the conservatory makes an excellent 3rd bedroom.

Highly recommended thank you Richard.

Lovely place for a getaway break

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Seagull Cottage for 2 days. The cottage has everything anyone would need for a stay in Anglesey. The pictures on the website are exactly how it is. Very comfortable (bed was really comfy). The living room is just the right size and on our first night when we arrived in torrential rain it was great to just put the fire on and settle down as if we had arrived home. The next day when the sun shone it was lovely just having our breakfast in the dining room / conservatory which is designed in gorgeous blues and a seascape layout - it was so relaxing. It has nice gardens at the front and a patio at the rear where you could sit out if the weather was hot. The cottage is situated just around the corner from Trearddur Beach and the Bay and is easy accessible.

Rick the owner had left instructions for everything which was a great help and lots of ideas where to go and what to see.

If we come back to Anglesey we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a break by the sea.

Thanks Rick and Helen.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the lovely review Claire. We so pleased you liked Seagull Cottage and Trearddur Bay. We think we have the best location in Anglesey for most types of visitors so it's great to hear that validated! One good thing about the cottage and the area is it's access as you point out which one reason we located here due to our own disabled access requirements. Please come back anytime you wish. I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer and look forward to welcoming you back. Thanks again and kind regards. Rick and Helen Ashton.
