My husband and I live in rural Devon with our pet dogs and chickens. We moved here in 2013 as an 'escape to the country'. We love the beautiful English countryside, the seclusion and the friendly locals. After holidaying in Devon for many years, this was our favourite area and where we chose to settle.

A fantastic place to stay, a little gem in Devon

  • 5 of 5

Our party was 2 couples and 1 puppy. We all had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone as it has something for everyone, and although it isn't around the corner from beaches (which are about 30 mins drive) etc, the space it has would keep children entertained for days.

On arrival 'No Place' felt extremely comfy, clean and cosy and the entire cottage is decorated to a very high standard. Lynda was extremely friendly and helpful, even leaving some fresh eggs, laid on site, scones, jam and cream together with milk, tea and coffee. What a lovely welcome.

About the cottage;

Downstairs:

You step into the porch which has tiled flooring (easy to clean if wet weather) big enough to house a puppy and her crate plus some. Even has a bodyboard and windbreak.

Then through a stable type door into the carpeted lounge with Sky tv, comfortable sofas, a log fire, dvd's and games.

Off the lounge:

Into the kitchen which houses all the essentials, such as electric cooker, washing machine, washing up equipment, fridge, microwave, all cooking utensils including scales (if you had the urge to bake), pots and pans, plenty of plates cups and glasses it also has a wine cooler.

Bedroom 1: King Size bed, the mattress it was soooo comfortable, a single bed, Wardrobe and side tables.

Staircase leading to a lovely landing with bathroom, and 2nd bedroom again with a double bed, as me and b/f slept downstairs I am unable to comment but our friends were extremely comfortable.

The gardens are huge and well maintained, has a swing seat, an area with a fire pit, wooded area where they have built a large tree house.

Choose this cottage you really won't be disappointed.

Beautiful cottage. Was lovely being welcomed and shown round by Lynda. Really nice gesture of cream tea on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything you could need for nice break away.

Lovely rural cottage - would highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at 'No Place', it is the nicest cottage we have been to & I would recommend here to anyone. Having a warm welcome by Lynda with home made scones & fresh eggs was much appreciated!

The cottage is decorated to a high standard, is immaculately clean & has everything you need. There is so much room to spread out, plenty of space for our dog & our baby's travel cot fitted easily into either bedroom. We stopped downstairs & the bed was amazing, comfiest ever!

We didn't have the best weather but it really didn't spoil our stay, as the cottage is comfy & we were happy to relax there, also plenty of games & books available & Sky movies. It is a shame that it was a bit rainy as we would have loved to spend time in the massive garden (I know our dog wanted to run around!) but hopefully next time!

It is so peaceful & we loved being away from it all but we visited Appledore, Westward Ho, Croyde & other places & really they are only half an hour or so & an easy drive.

Thank you Lynda & David for a wonderful break.

Lynda gave a warm welcome. The cottage is beautifully appointed. Very comfy bed and well equipped. We appreciated the Devon scones on arrival . We had free use of the garden and access to the grounds which were lovely with gorgeous countryside views. Enjoyed local pubs and Tarka pottery . Highly recommend. Many thanks .
