End of Devon Farmhouse Situated In The Foothills Of Exmoor

Farmhouse set in a peaceful valley surrounded by woods and farmland near the small village of Brayford, North Devon

This spacious wing of the main farmhouse is secluded from the working farm, with your own walled garden to enjoy the peace and tranquility. The garden and easily accessible hard court area provides a safe haven for the children to play, ideal for a game of tennis, football etc. Or is perfectly situated to start a walk from or cycle with the foothills of Exmoor to explore.

On request (and seasonally dependent) there are many eventful things to be seen on the farm, from a new baby lamb to the daily milking of the cows. There is also always the warm welcome from the farm dogs who especially love to be taken down to the river just below the farmhouse.

The cottage is situated in an attractive location on a 200 acre dairy and sheep farm, where woods and meadows studded with wildflowers shelter an abundance of wildlife. Including barn owls, herons, buzzards, woodpeckers red deer, foxes, rabbits, hares and badgers that will enchant true nature-lovers.

Set on the border of Exmoor National Park and with the Tarka Trail running through the farm, walkers will be spoiled for choice with magnificent pathways. All the amenities of Barnstaple and the superb surfing, sandy beaches of Saunton and Croyde are all within easy reach.

The cottage is a traditional cob building over 400 years old, with an idyllic fireplace to curl up to in the evening or in the conservatory on a summers evening enjoying the sunset.

We have lived on our farm for 4 generations, originally a small herd of cows we have develop into a 100 cow dairy herd with the addition of 200 sheep.

Our home is a 400 year old property that we are unable to fill and therefore split into 2, allowing you to enjoy a holiday within North Devon.

We have had a wonderful time here in this tanquil haven. Shirley and Norman are really friendly and welcoming hosts. The cottage is really comfortable, well equipped and was IMMACULATE. Our girls have loved playing with the farm dogs in the fields and stream.

Back Again! We were house hunting the first time we visited and are now living in beautiful Devon as we have found a house. Yaye!

Lower Hall Farm is a fabulous place to stay it is a beautiful Cottage, so peaceful, wonderful location, spectacular views and the owners are fantastic, very friendly. Loved being greeted and fussed by the lovely dogs Maggie, Buster, Monty and the new addition Jinny.

There are loads of beautiful places to visit in North Devon, fabulous markets, beaches and more.....

Had an absolutely wonderful time, the cottage and location is fantastic! The owners are wonderful and very friendly and so are the dogs, will miss them.

There are loads of things to do in North Devon and the scenery is spectacular.

From the moment you arrive at Lower Hall Farm there is instant peace and relaxation but at the same time plenty of places to explore in the area. We first stayed here with our two sons in 1991 and loved it so much we have been back every year since and still discover hidden treasures of Exmoor. Many happy hours have been spent, exploring the river, playing tennis, playing with the dogs, feeding calves and watching the milking. The cottage is cosy, very clean and comfortable, with a lovely garden to relax in after a day walking or visiting the attractions of North Devon. Shirley and Norman are the perfect hosts; you will receive a warm welcome and they are always on hand if needed, but do not intrude and leave you to enjoy this ‘top spot’.

If you’re looking for a country holiday in the perfect place this is it!

Simply amazing.....

Simply idyllic we have been visiting Lower Hall Farm for the last ten years and have already booked again for next year. There is so much to do whether you want to spend lazy days playing with the farm dogs, exploring the stream and valleys around the farm, or as a base for exploring the tranquil delights of North Devon. You can also help Norman with the milking if you ask beforehand and there are always newly born calves to see. The cottage is beautiful, very cosy and always immaculately clean. The bedrooms have lots of space and are very comfortable. Outside there is a very private and well kept walled garden with an abundance of flowers and wildlife, this leads to a full size tennis court if you are feeling energetic. The best part of the holiday for us is the welcome from Norman and Shirley that we have received since the first year we stayed. Its the same welcome everyone gets whether first timers or old hands like us. Simply amazing and our year wouldn't be complete without at least one visit to Lower Hall Farm.
