Cottage in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Central Location, Less Than 5 Minutes' Walk To Nearest Beach And Golf Links

UP TO 20% OFF SELECTED WEEKS THIS AUTUMN ONLY - ALSO ASK ABOUT OUR AMAZING CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR BREAKS ! You'll find this pretty cottage - situated down a quaint lane just off Tenby's town square - a perfect base for exploring Tenby and its many attractions. It suits families and extended families, with plenty of room for one or two extra cots. We've owned it for 15 years, and restored it lovingly when we can between our many returning visitors. China Cottage is popular all year round, as Tenby is not just a summer location, but is great for long weekends and winter walks. The cottage is spacious, bright and airy in the summer months; and with its stove fireplace and deep leather sofas it is also cosy and characterful in the winter. It couldn't be more central to the shops and café bars. The master bedroom has a 'hidden' roll top bath where you can soak by candlelight. No-smoking throughout.

Long weekend February

  • 5 of 5

Chose China Cottage for a long weekend break in February and we were more than pleased, in fact we didn't want to leave. The property is ideally situated in the center of town so there is no need for a car, everything is right there. China Cottage is very spacious and comfortable, it suited the 7 of us perfectly. All in all we had a fab time and would definitely consider it again in the future. Highly recommended!!

Lovely cottage in a central location

  • 5 of 5

We decided to take a holiday before we all went to University and after deciding on Tenby we found China Cottage. We all found that the cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well presented. The welcome gifts were very much appreciated and a lovely touch and when we had a question about the fireplace Julie was very quick to get back to us.

We had a great time exploring Tenby and we also spent a lot of time at the beach which was less than a two minute walk away (we timed it!). The central location of the cottage was also really great as we didn't have a car but everything was within very easy walking distance.

The only slight drawback was that it could be a little loud on Friday and Saturday nights with people walking past the cottage.

Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay and we had a great time. We would definitely recommend it to a friend

Beautiful cottage, in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived we was pleasantly surprised at how big the cottage was, it was the perfect size plus more for our family break away. We was in Tenby for the long course weekend and was right on the start and finish line of the bike course and marathon which made the atmosphere even better.

The location of the cottage is just perfect, the beach, shops and restaurants are just round the corner.

Julie and Mike the owners made us feel very welcome by leaving a little welcome box of goodies for us.

We definitely recommend this cottage and we will definitely be going back there to stay.

Owner's Response: Thanks guys, we loved having you to stay at the Cottage - and we love those who support and take part in such great events as the Long Course Weekend and the Wales Ironman - there's no prettier route in the world, and the whole town gets behind you athletes. See you next year.

Excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at China Cottage for a week over Easter, two families - 4 adults, 3 kids and a baby. The cottage was cosy and welcoming and surprisingly quite spacious. The cottage is well equipped (but maybe one thing would be a cafetiere) and is situated just off the main high street in the centre of Tenby. Very easy access to the shops, restaurants and all the beaches and the harbour are within easy walking distance. The weather was perfect and would highly recommend China Cottage and would most certainly stay there again.

All in all a great week away.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay - the property is certainly central. Thanks for the tip about the cafetiere - that can be easily sorted. Hope to see you again. Julie

Lovely Cosy Cottage..

  • 5 of 5

Decided fairly last minute to get to the coast with some friends and my 2yr old - phoned, arranged to stay and arrived all within 24hrs and what a lovely homely cottage it is.. Good sized accommodation for the money and very centrally located, just a short stroll to the beaches and the town centre. The 2nd double is smaller than the master room so if travelling with 2 x couples then just be aware there may be some "discussions".. Very cosy and warm living room with a great gas burner. Everything you need is at the cottage and Julie the owner very helpful..

Owner's Response: Lol, Paul makes a good point that I hadn't thought of - the second double bedroom is plenty big enough, but the master-bedroom is stunning with its roll-top bath. Draw lots before hand! Great guests, can't wait to welcome you back.

Location

From the Owner

When China Cottage became available to buy, it was so quaint and central, that we acquired it in order to build up our little property portfolio. Given its age (approx 250 years) and thick original walls, it's taken some time to 'modernise, but it has a lovely spacious yet cosy feel to it and couldn't be more convenient for the town and beaches. Our other properties are No 4 Queens Parade (our first family home; a big, stylish, terraced town house with views of Caldey Island and Tenby Golf Links); and No 1 Albert View (a cool compact apartment next to a foodie pub and less than a minute from the Harbour and Castle Beach). No 2 Albert View is our latest addition and is our most modern & stylish property to date.

Simple car journey to Barafundle Bay, Freshwater East, or Freshwater West (great surf), Manorbier (good for dogs & surf), Swan Lake, or even Blue Lagoon (cliff-diving) in the north of the County.

The stunning castle at Pembroke is just 20 minutes away, as is Laugharne and Dylan Thomas' boat-house. Caldey Island by boat is a must-do trip when staying in Tenby.
