Hello! We are Andrew and Rosie Pearman. We have lived our dream of living in Cornwall since 2005, running a very busy and successful B&B here at Kernow Trek Lodge for 10 years. We converted our B&B in to 4 self catering apartments in 2015, and live on site in a 5th apartment, with our cats, dogs and 2 guinea pigs! We have four wonderful children, all adults now, 2 of whom live here at home with us, and 2 living locally. We all love the chilled Cornish way of life, our gorgeous beaches and breath taking views, that turquoise sea and everything Cornwall! We consider it a privilege to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and look forward to sharing what we love with our guests! "We were travelling as a family of four (2 adults and two small kids). Andrew and Rosie could not have made us more welcome. The holiday apartment and outside space are fantastic. The inside space was clean, modern and well equipped - better than many other holiday rentals. The outside apace was fun, bbq area, swing seats, beach toys we could borrow. We could not recommend Sand Dune any higher and will stay again when in the area. It is very close to airport and a couple of minute drive to Mawgan Porth beach. Andrew and Rosie are welcoming, friendly and have excellent welcome pack in the apt about activities, shopping and practical information."



Tip:

"We were in the area for a family wedding so mostly spent time at the beach or with family. Local beaches are amazing, the travellers rest pub is within walking distance with great food. We drove to Dairy Farm kids soft play, outdoor play and letting farm. A family ticket is valid for a week...."

The apartment, Sand Dune was absolutely perfect, so clean, modern and everything we wanted.

I have been coming to Cornwall ever since I was a baby and by far this is the best stay I have ever had. Kernow Trek is absolutely amazing to stay in and the people are more than lovely. The apartment had everything we needed and the holiday it's self was just fab! We will be returning next year for definite and we can't wait!

Lovely break

Well presented little apartment, perfect for our needs, kitted out excellently (best equipped kitchen I've used to date - even has Tupperware!)

Rosie and Andrew were really helpful and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Great location, close to the beach and the coast path. Would recommend.

Great location - TREVARRIAN - 2 mins by car to Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay Beaches, 3 miles from Newquay, 8 miles from Padstow. Newquay Airport less than half a mile, great road and rail links. We simply love Cornwall, and hope you enjoy our beautiful surroundings and well as the apartments, carefully designed to make your holiday a home away from home experience! As we live on site, we are here to help you with any needs during your stay, but only if you need us!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 1 Kilometres Nearest Train : Newquay at 5 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Mawgan Porth & Watergate Bay at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

Surf breaks - surfing tuition, aimed at all levels of ability and age, can be arranged.

Surf board and wet suit hire also available locally.

Coast/Beach:

Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay beaches are approx half a mile away - 2 mins by car ( pay and display parking available at both beaches), 30 - 35 mins walk following the National Trust coastal path. Stunning views!

Travel:

Easy access by road, rail and air. Newquay Airport just 2 mins by car, less than a mile away. Newquay train station is approx 10-15 mins by road, with taxi's readily available. Access by road is very straight forward, follow signs to Newquay Airport from the A30, and from there to Trevarrian. Local bus services run from Trevarrian to Padstow and Newquay, with bus and rail links to other places of interest. However, use of a car is recommended, car hire is available at the airport and in Newquay

Further Details:

There are plenty of options for eating out with out having to travel too far. Travellers Rest pub in Trevarrian Village, just 2 mins walk. In Mawgan Porth there is the Merrymore Inn; fish and chips; Cornish Fresh store, selling take away coffee, hot and cold food, local and organic produce; Off the Beach cafe and restaurant; Betty's news agent and store; a number of gift shops and King Surf surf school - highly recommended for surf lessons! There is a cash machine, with charge for use.

At Watergate Bay, there is the Phoenix Bar and Restaurant; Beach Hut Restaurant and Watergate Bay Hotel serving coffee and food. And of course, Jamie Olivers Fifteen restaurant with stunning views over Watergate Bay beach!

In St Mawgan village (just a 2 minute drive, or a beautiful 30 min walk through fields) there is local gift shop, Post Office and lovely tea rooms, Falcon Inn and church over looking the village green. There is a cash machine in the Post Office - free of charge.

Padstow offers a great seafood choice with a number of Rick Stein restaurants to choose from, tasty pasties and cream teas. A quaint, busy fishing harbour, with amazing views over the camel estuary. Bike hire is available here, great fun family day out, cycling as far as you wish along the camel trail.

A variety of supermarkets in Newquay town, including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Aldi and Lidl. On line shopping and delivery available from selected supermarkets. Banks, cash points, numerous shops, cafes and restaurants offering a good choice of food to suit everyone's taste! Local cinema, harbour, fantastic beaches - and of course the surf capital of the UK!

Truro City is approx 17 miles, with its elegant cathedral, a good choice of shops, cinema and restaurants and park and ride.

Guests must bring their own beach towels. Well behaved small/medium, non moulting dog considered in Sand Dune only, as this apartment has its own private garden area. Pets are not allowed in other apartments. An additional £10 charge is payable - please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to bring your dog. Small groups of friends considered - No stag or hen groups. PARKING: Off road parking at the front of the property, with parking for one car per apartment. More parking or parking for larger vehicles can be arranged, but must be requested at the time of booking. Sand Dune guests have access to other facilities including hose for swilling wet suits and muddy gear etc., and shared laundry room with washing machine and sink for hand washing. Some storage space is available for surf boards and other out door items. Lockable storage for out door equipment may be possible, but must be arranged when booking. Sand Dune (ground floor apartment) is attached to the main building, Kernow Trek Lodge. It is accessed via its own south facing garden, with out door airer, picnic table and lawned area.
