Beautifully Appointed Villa. Memorable Views. No Description Will Do It Justice

Updated: 05-Sep-2016
Villa in Dalyan, Aegean Region, Turkey - A Place Where Time Has Stood Still. Only 11 Minutes Away To Dalyan Town By Car

Villa Burak Köy evi is a new property in the idyllic, hidden village of Gokbel. A beautiful drive through the mountains offers some wonderfully authentic rural Turkish scenes that have long disappeared from our modern lives. It’s not unusual to see villagers using long forgotten tools and machinery, or to hear the distant sound of cow bells. All the sights, sounds and smells contribute to a feeling of being in a place where time has stood still.

The villa gives the more discerned holiday maker a chance to experience tranquility and inner harmony in a location that feels a million miles away, yet is in fact only 11 minutes by car from the lovely town of Dalyan. A car is necessary and is the key that will open the door to this magical escape to paradise.

The setting is rural, highlighting the contrast between the brand new villa and its surroundings. The change in the colour of the olives on the old tree outside is one of the few signs that time does actually move here. Villa Burak Koy Evi is equipped with all mod cons; offering guests the luxuries of home whilst having a truly unforgettable holiday parallel with nature. One of the villa’s most beautiful attributes is the uplifting and serene setting that the upstairs terrace has to offer, where you marvel at the breathtaking view either eating breakfast, enjoying pre dinner drinks, or watching the sunset appreciating the best view in the Dalyan area. This is a holiday that will both stimulate your senses and relax your mind. Pictures and words simply cannot do Villa Burak Köy evi justice.

We can help you with renting car; alternatively this can be done at Dalaman airport.

The best family holiday we've ever had.

Pretty much a perfect villa in a perfect location. One of the few occasions where you arrive thinking "What didn't we see in the photos? What's going to let it down?" but nothing does, in fact it exceeds your expectations. Comfort, cleanliness, state of repair - spot on. Spacious, well equipped, a pleasure to cook and eat indoors and out. (Great BBQ.) Views spectacular. Surroundings peaceful, safe and picturesque. Helpful, friendly owners. Nestled in beautiful wooded hills between bustling, friendly town and beautiful beach with shallow warm sea and excellent turtle sanctuary. Delicious shimmering private pool - long enough for proper swimming, shallow enough for kids to feel safe, lightly salty so no chlorine. A perfect hangover cure, exercise area and playground - we all spent hours each day in it. Outdoor shower for easy rinsing before soaking up the sun on comfy beds or enjoying the shady, vine-covered outdoor lounge area. Due to position and layout of villa, both shade and sun are available all day.

And hardly any mosquitoes - an unexpected bonus.

We were there with friends - 4 adults and 4 kids in all. Plenty of room for everyone. The spaces in and around the villa work if you all want to be together but also if you prefer to find a quiet spot to read a book. We were all happy and relaxed all the time.

Searched my mind for any improvements - all I came up with was, a hammock. Everybody loves a hammock, especially with such amazing views to drift off to.

Gokbel is a friendly village with a handy little shop. The call to prayer drifts up the valley at occasional intervals with the local dogs keen to sing along. (This doesn't happen early in the morning and is never obtrusive, only atmospheric and somewhat uplifting, even as a non-believer.)

Dalyan is busy and interesting - good shops, great market, friendly people, non-pushy sales tactics. Much to see and do if you ever get bored (?) of beach and pool and lazy days in the sun. Visit the ancient ruins. Go on a private boat trip (we highly recommend Captain Fuat) with secret coves, turtle spotting and on-board BBQ - it's good to feel rich for a little while.

Many nice restaurants, but also lovely food in shops and market. One of the greatest joys was cooking outdoors on the BBQ terrace with a glass of something nice while watching the magical changes in the light of the misty-hills-sea-view-sunset.

The only difficult part of the holiday was having to leave. We will definitely be going back.

Stunning View. Lovely Pool.

  • 5 of 5

We hugely enjoyed our stay at Villa Burak and would highly recommend it to other families. It worked perfectly for our group of 4 adults and 4 young kids.

As long as you have a car, it is perfectly situated midway between the beach and the the town of Dalyan, with incredible views over both.

The villa is well designed for holiday living, and it is kept very clean and tidy. Being up in the hills also brings a gentle breeze most days which is a blessing on the hottest of days.

We often opted to stay in and have a barbecue on the terrace rather than go out to eat. The views from the terrace over Istuzu beach and the mountains beyond are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. So why would you want to go out??

The pool is also extremely clean and our kids loved that it isn't too deep.

The owner Huseyn and his son Burak are very friendly and welcoming. They were always contactable when we needed advice or help.

Our 2 week stay seemed to fly by and we were very sad to leave. We look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Activity and Interests

Car: necessary

Dalyan beach is a nesting site for loggerhead turtles with its own sanctuary where you can see injured species. Winner of The Times Best Open Spaces, Europe, it is also one of the safest beaches for children. Imagine a 5km stretch of golden sand from the base of a pine clad mountain to a river delta with not a single hotel, house or car in sight where rare turtles come to lay their eggs at night. The beach is accessible by car from Villa Burak Koy Evi (only 7 minutes) or by boat from Dalyan.

Dalaman airport is very convenient, only 30 minutes' drive away. We can arrange transfer. The internet is the best place to search for flights. Arrivals from most UK airports. Flight time approximately 3 1/2 hours. We have found the following sites to be very useful when looking for flights to Dalaman:- flying from the UK: flythomascook, thompson, flypgs. easyjet, cheapestflights, firstchoice.

Only 7 minutes by car to the beautiful Iztuzu beach and 11 minutes into the centre of Dalyan.

The nearest restaurant is Gol Basi on the beach road - an 8 min drive away.

Sarigerme beach is only a 20 minute drive away.

Asi Koy bay is a 15 minute drive away.
