Cottage in Keswick, Lake District, Cumbria, England - Perfectly Located To Enjoy Keswick, The Lakes And Fells Without Needing To Move Your Car

Slate Knoll is a perfect base to come and relax and enjoy the delights of the beautiful lake district. The sitting room / dinning area allows you to view the fells and town life from the comfort of your armchair. Slate Knoll has the benefit of wifi and has a modern interior which comprises of two bedrooms, one bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. The apartment is handily situated for strolling into town, taking in the many restaurants, bars and cafes, or browsing the independent gift and walking shops. The town also has a quaint cinema showing latest releases and an award winning theatre by the lake. Derwentwater is a ten minute walk from the Slate Knoll. You can take a daytrip along Derwentwater into Borrowdale on the Keswick Launch or hire a rowing boat and explore its tiny islands. There are also lots of different watersports on offer or you can enjoy one of the beautiful Lakeside walks. Cockermouth and West Cumbria are within a 30 minute drive or you can hop on a bus just 50 yards from your doorstep. There are pleasant beaches at St Bees and Maryport, and the Solway Firth, which enjoy a wide variety of bird life, and fabulous sunsets. Directions: From the Motorway. Exit M6 at junction 40, take the A66 to Keswick, take the first turning signed Keswick (about 15 miles), on reaching the T-junction turn right onto the A5271 (town centre mile) follow the road through two sets of traffic lights and at the mini roundabout take the third exit into Hewetson Court yard. Slate Knoll's parking space is below the external staircase on the right hand side of the courtyard. From Carlisle take the A595 to Bothel then turn left onto the A591 signed Windermere and Keswick (approx 20 miles) , at the roundabout (about 12 miles) take the second exit for Keswick, at the T junction turn left and follow the road until you a reach a mini roundabout and take the first left into Hewetson courtyard. For Sat Nav users the postcode is CA12 5DW.

Great base for a walking holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Slate Knoll. The apartment was very welcoming and cosy and it's the perfect location in central Keswick. No need for our car once we were back from a day on the fells. We'll be back!!

Perfect accommodation

This property exceeded our expectations. Very clean, fresh and bright and overlooking the Main Street. Delicious fresh lemon cake and milk awaited us. We would recommend this accommodation to everyone.
