About the property

Beautiful, well equiped 2 bedroom ground floor apartment with large patio and outstanding mountain views and a tranquil location

Beautiful 2 bedroomed ground floor apartment with one double bedroom and one twin with two bunk beds and a third pull out bed stored underneath (see the pictures), each with fitted wardrobes, and a sofa bed suitable for one adult or 2 children in the living area. Fully equipped kitchen with Wi-Fi, TV, blueray player and docking station in the living area. There is a good selection of films, music, books and magazines to suit all ages and tastes as well as a well stocked toy and games box. There is a washing machine in the bathroom which has a full size bath with shower and a separate toilet. Large patio with outside seating and table accessed from the living area with an electric BBQ, table and seating for 6 and a couple of sun loungers. There is outside parking and a secure underground garage with storage for skis and bikes. The town centre with shops,restaurants and bars is 5-10 minutes walk away, with a supermarket 200m from the rear entrance to the apartment block and a take away pizza restaurant 50m away. The first stop on the blue ski bus route is 100m from the property, so there's always space, even at peak times. The Grand Massif express lift is a 500m picturesque walk away along the river bank but this is best accessed via the free ski bus or by driving to the large free car park at the base of the lift. The whole Grand Massif is accessible from this lift with over 250km of skiing to suit all abilities as well as some of the best off piste skiing in Europe. The nursery slopes in Samoens and Morrillon in particular are ideal for first timers with good intermediate skiing close by. Chamonix, Megeve, Les Gets and Morzine are all no more than an hours drive away. Samoens is not a typical ski resort. It is an historic French village with a whole host of outdoor activities as soon as the ski season finishes. Mountain and road biking, canoeing and white water rafting in the Gifre, hiking and paragliding are just a few of the activities available virtually all the year round.

We live in England with our daughters and have travelled extensively throughout the alps both summer and winter. We enjoy "adventure" type holidays and wanted to have a bolt hole which we could easily access all year round. mainly for skiing in winter and mountain biking and more recently paragliding in the summer.

Why bridget towns chose Flaine - Grand Massif

Having decided to buy a property in the alps, we spent several months making weekend trips to Italy, Austria and France. We had decided to buy in Morzine when we drove through Samoens on a misty Sunday morning and what we saw completely changed our minds. Samoens is not a typical ski resort, it is a historic French village with a medieval and alpine atmosphere - no high rise or concrete! It has excellent shops, restaurants and bars and everything is within walking distance from everywhere else.

All outdoor activities are catered for, summer and winter, yet there is never a feeling that it is too busy or crowded, even at peak season. Further afield and within 1 hours drive are most of Frances other well known ski resorts.

What makes this apartment unique

The location is ideal, being only 5 minutes from bars and restaurants, yet is in a quiet, wooded location with fabulous views south over the mountains. There are extensive riverside trails extending from Morillon, through Samoens to Sixt which pass around the apartment making it ideal for walking and mountain biking. The first pick up on the ski bus is at the end of the road, so it's always empty.

All other summer and winter activities are easily accessed on foot and the local supermarket caters for all of our needs and is 200m from the rear entrance to the apartment block. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts of the village with an excellent butcher, several bakeries and a greengrocer in the village

Very nice apartment, accommodated four of us easily, clean and comfortable.

1 min walk to ski bus, and 5 minute walk to centre of Samoens.

Really can't go wrong, and certainly considering skiing Samoens (and booking this apartment) next year.

Amazing Holiday

We stayed at the apartment in Le Sylvania over the Christmas holidays and had a fantastic time. It is beautifully furnished, and felt very Christmassy with the red and alpine decor. The owner had put up twinkly lights and some lovely Christmas touches, including stockings on the bunk beds for my two children. The apartment was spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and very comfortable for our 2 week holiday. We have stayed in many ski apartments over the years and this is by far one of the most well equipped... I was so happy when I saw a slow cooker - perfect for when you've been out all day!! We cooked a Christmas dinner, and the kitchen was big enough even for the trimmings!

It is located in the perfect position if you are looking for a winter holiday, doing a few additional things to skiing. As we were there for an extended period we were able to really explore the forest trails which are situated just behind the apartment, and our dog was in heaven. Most evenings we would walk the dog into town (just 5 minutes) along the river and enjoy all the festivities in Samoens, which is beautiful especially when lit up with Christmas lights. The ice rink is lots of fun, and there was even a free ice dance show in town!

This year the snow wasn't showing itself to any of the alps, but the Grand Massif did the best they could with what they had. We love the ski area and have returned here most years as the area is extensive and varied. This was our first time staying in Samoens and I would definitely recommend if you have non skiers, dogs, or just want some variety. There is loads to do and it's a really nice town. The apartment is an easy walk along the river to the telecabine or a 2 min drive to the big car park (which we did having 2 young children).

The wifi was fast, the hot water was hot (and didn't run out - unlike some places we have stayed) and the building was quiet, so if you want a relaxing holiday in the alps - book it!

Excellent throughout

Location is excellent: short walk to the village, quiet surrounding, lovely view.

The garden was a big plus as we have 2 small children.

Apartment was very well equipped, from toaster to hairdrier, even found hotwater bottles for the winter!

Beds were comfortable and everything was in working order, the children loved the big chest full of indoor/outdoor games.

Owner is so very on the ball and helpful.

Absolute winner all around.

Great holiday in Samoens

Great ground floor apartment , spent 10 days here for mountain bike riding week , and watched le tour go through samones , all so walked a few mountain tops , enjoyed every second , easy walk in to town or lift .

Everything you need is in the apartment for a great holiday winter or summer ,

Great location for skiing

I spent a week with my daughter and family - great location, handy for the town or skiing and the apartment was ideal - Very clean and everything we could have wanted (in working order) including a washing machine!
