The cottage is quite secluded, depite being attached to the farmhouse. I was a wonderfully quiet stay which allowed us to enjoy the local area and a little further afield. Everything worked well and was clean although the kitchen equipment and utensils are a little basic. I guess not eveyone cooks as much as I do. The bedrroms are nice and comfotable - the twin room has quite a lo ceiling with beams but that adds a little character.
The local area is great for pleasant walks, particularly if you like birdwatching. Great for waders, waterfowl and passing migrants. We used it for a base to reach Muncaster and Eskdale: the best of both worlds as it's a quiet not-too-touristy place but close the the breathtaking beauty of the Western Lakes.
Spacious cottage right by the sea where we enjoyed a few days relaxing and ambling in the nearby area. The cottage was located within the holiday park which was not stated at any point in any of the directions so took us a while to find it.....but when we got there it was great.
Had a lovely time. Nice location & cosy cottage
We had a 3 night stay, in this quaint cottage. Excellent base for walking. We made use of Herdwicks each day. We would definitely return.
Me and my partner came 4 2 nights for a break from work and children we loved it very peaceful and has everything you need thinking of coming again with the children owners even provide travel cot and high chair and toys! Which being a parent I think it's great less things you need to pack overall brilliant cottage!
The cottage is nice and cosy. It could do with a coat of paint to freshen it up a bit but it is warm, comfortable and more than enough room for a family. The walks are wonderful with a few options for food and drink within a few minutes walk. Would definitely return.
