Perfect. Cozy.

Had everything you would expect and more. Owners very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive.

Attached onto a house, and near a caravan site. But still felt like we were secluded due to the positioning of house.

Pub/food and sea within walking distance. Small town 5 minute drive away with tesco, pubs restaurants and cafes. Not overly buzy.

Rspb reserve 5 minutes from cottage, with hide.

Wifi and sky TV in cottage.

Fridge and freezer.

Would highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

  • 3 of 5

An excellent three night break for two adults and our dog. Weather was great. We felt at home as soon as we went through the door. The owner ,who lives next door, is friendly and gave out useful information about the area.

A very pleasant weekend!

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is quite secluded, depite being attached to the farmhouse. I was a wonderfully quiet stay which allowed us to enjoy the local area and a little further afield. Everything worked well and was clean although the kitchen equipment and utensils are a little basic. I guess not eveyone cooks as much as I do. The bedrroms are nice and comfotable - the twin room has quite a lo ceiling with beams but that adds a little character.

The local area is great for pleasant walks, particularly if you like birdwatching. Great for waders, waterfowl and passing migrants. We used it for a base to reach Muncaster and Eskdale: the best of both worlds as it's a quiet not-too-touristy place but close the the breathtaking beauty of the Western Lakes.

Lovely cottage with plenty of space

  • 4 of 5

Spacious cottage right by the sea where we enjoyed a few days relaxing and ambling in the nearby area. The cottage was located within the holiday park which was not stated at any point in any of the directions so took us a while to find it.....but when we got there it was great.

Stay at the Coach House. Haverigg

  • 5 of 5

We had a 3 night stay, in this quaint cottage. Excellent base for walking. We made use of Herdwicks each day. We would definitely return.

Wildlife

Hodbarrow’s wildlife rich coastal lagoon is the largest stretch of coastal open water in north-west England. Part of the lagoon is owned by the RSPB and several pathways take you through different habitats leading to the hide. From here, you can watch Cumbria’s only breeding sandwich tern colony. The reserve also attracts little terns, warblers, great crested grebes, red breasted mergansers and wildfowl such as wigeons. The large number of birds also attracts the attention of local birds of prey, including the peregrine falcon. From the sea wall, you may also be lucky enough to spot seals and porpoises playing in Haverigg’s picturesque harbour.
