Sweet cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Really sweet homey cottage. Always clean and smart. Really nice neighbours who own the cottage. On fabulous caravan park. With a lot of this to do.

Property is dirty and spider infested.

  • 2 of 5

We had to clean & hoover on arrival. Sand all over floor, dirty plates& cups. Blocked sink.

Spiders everywhere!!

Didn't expect to clean etc. Positive the bedding was clean & fresh.

Surrounding area is lovely. Plenty of walks.

Very very nice cottage

  • 5 of 5

We found there everything we needed, even plush toys and board games for boys (there are dolls for girls too:)). Quite location, nice walks, easy parking, close to Haverigg as well as to Millom. Thank you very much!

A comfortable, quiet, homely cottage. Ideal for those with dogs.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is in a good location and is very quiet. A pub is about 150 metres away which serves decent food, and there is a bar/restaurant near the shore which is within easy walking distance.

The cottage is very close to the shore and the lakes are within easy reach.

The owner lives next door and is very friendly.

The bathroom needs a little work but otherwise everything was fine.

Very Dusty and Lots of Cobwebs

  • 1 of 5

We arrived at the property and opened the door to be greeted with a very stale musty smell, which was not good for my friend who has very bad asthma! The downstairs bathroom had to be de-spidered I got 6 on my first trawl! The bathroom was very damp and the wall was covered in mold spots!

The bedrooms were covered in cobwebs and also had to be de-spidered not what you expect to do when you arrive for a holiday.

The external side of the property is very open so not good if you just want to leave the door open and let you dog have a sniff outside.

Haverigg is probably the worst place in the whole of cumbria, not a pretty place and the pub at the end of the road is as rough as it gets!!!

I would not recommend this place and would not recommend Haverigg there are much nicer places to stay!

Well looked after and quiet

  • 4 of 5

Well looked after, just the bathroom needs a bit of TLC but everything else was spot on. Very quiet location ideal chill, would have liked a few more days to explore the local area but sadly had to return to work.

Wildlife

Hodbarrow’s wildlife rich coastal lagoon is the largest stretch of coastal open water in north-west England. Part of the lagoon is owned by the RSPB and several pathways take you through different habitats leading to the hide. From here, you can watch Cumbria’s only breeding sandwich tern colony. The reserve also attracts little terns, warblers, great crested grebes, red breasted mergansers and wildfowl such as wigeons. The large number of birds also attracts the attention of local birds of prey, including the peregrine falcon. From the sea wall, you may also be lucky enough to spot seals and porpoises playing in Haverigg’s picturesque harbour.
