Kiln House was build in 1846. Many of the original features remain with wonderful sash and bay windows, old oak doors and picture rails. The property has been revovated to a very high standard with lovely furnishings throughout. There is everything that you need for a relaxing break at the heart of Snape Maltings. The front door leads into the sitting room where there is a three seater sofa, two arm chairs and a freeview TV. The dining area is directly off the sitting room where there is a good sized table and 6 chairs and the music system with digital radio. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge freezer, oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a small study area with a desk and chair. The back door leads onto the private Courtyard where there is seating - it is a very peaceful and tranquil spot. The stairs lead to the single bedroom and family bathroom whilst the second set of stairs takes you up to the master ensuite bedroom and a second double ensuite.

Our family has lived has Snape Maltings for over 49 years, gradually transforming the Maltings from its industrial heritage to the cultural village you see today. The individually owned homes are part of this wonderful location and we hope that you will enjoy being here as much as we do.

Aldeburgh's shingle beach has a wonderful shoreline and is only 5 miles from Snape Maltings. The famous Scallop structure lies between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness along a stretch of Suffolk coast which is most attractive. Sandy beaches and a pier can be found at Southwold which is 12 miles away.
The nearest airport is Norwich which is 40 miles away with Stansted being 75 miles. The use of a car is considered essential although there is a bus service which has connections to a railway station.
The nearest village is Snape which is 1 mile away and is accessible by footpath and road. There are many places of interest nearby including Sutton Hoo (8 miles), Orford and Framlingham castles (6 miles) and with Woodbridge Tide Mill (8 miles) and museum providing a wealth of local information. There are many food producers within a 5 miles radius of the Maltings. Minsmere and Dunwich are further up the coast within 16 miles.
Snape Maltings is close to a wide range of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks and farm shops yet is in a very peaceful and tranquil part of the Suffolk countryside.

The booking process is either by using the website, email or telephone. A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking with the full balance payable 6 weeks prior to your stay. A good housekeeping deposit of £100 is also required at the time of paying the final balance.
It is possible to stay here for a week with the changeover day being Friday or Monday. Weekends are from Friday to Monday with mid week stays from Monday to Friday. It is possible to have different length of stays as we are very flexible!

- Outside: There is a communal garden space for the properties with outside seating. Within a few steps there is the River Alde with walks to Iken and Aldeburgh, the world famous concert hall - home to Benjamin Britten and Aldeburgh Music. There is a wonderful array of shops, galleries, restaurants and an antiques collectors centre. River trips are available from March until October. There is a Farmer's Market on the first Saturday of the month with various other events throughout the year such as the Aldeburgh Music festival in June, the renowned Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival in September. There are various exhibitions held throughout the year.
