This lovely three storey property has a twin bedroom and a family bathroom on the ground floor which leads to the garden area. The first floor is accessed by an oak staircase where there is a master ensuite double bedroom, a further double and a cloakroom. The third floor is the open plan living space. The kitchen contains all that is needed for a holiday stay with modern appliances. The breakfast bar separates the room for the dinsin area which houses a table and chairs and leads to the seating area. Here is a very comfortable sofa and two leather armchairs. The flat screen TV with freeview, DVD and sound system are housed in one corner where there are books and magazines. The views from here are wonderful - fold back the glass oak doors onto the wooden balcony and sit with a coffee or a glass or wine for the perfect spot which is unrivalled. There is WiFi, constant hot water, underfloor heating and a covered car parking space with ample free parking on site.

Newly converted to a very high standard these properties are in a delightful position within the heart of Snape Maltings home to the world famous Concert Hall. There is House and Garden, a food hall filled with local produce, wonderful eclectic clothing, Little Rascals for children, books and cards as well as an antiques centre and music shop. Cafe 1885 and the Gransary teashop offer great food for relaxing stay - from the moment you arrive to when you leave. Staff are on hand to meet you and to show you to the lovely properties. All have fully equipped kitchens, comfortable sofas and beds with quality linen, free view TV and most have WiFi. The location is perfect - right beside the River Alde with walks to Iken and Aldeburgh. It is a bird watcher's paradise with a host of different species all year round. Snape Maltings is just 5 miles from the shingle beach at Aldeburgh with Southwold's sandy beaches further up the coast. A host of wonderful restaurants awaits.

Our family has lived has Snape Maltings for over 49 years, gradually transforming the Maltings from its industrial heritage to the cultural village you see today. The individually owned homes are part of this wonderful location and we hope that you will enjoy being here as much as we do.


Special interest holidays:

During the year there are events held locally that are of special interest especially at Dunwich and Minsmere. Sutton Hoo is a short distance away. Please see the website for further details.


Aldeburgh's shingle beach has a wonderful shoreline and is only 5 miles from Snape Maltings. The famous Scallop structure lies between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness along a stretch of Suffolk coast which is most attractive. Sandy beaches and a pier can be found at Southwold which is 12 miles away.


The nearest airport is Norwich which is 40 miles away with Stansted being 75 miles. The use of a car is considered essential although there is a bus service which has connections to a railway station.


The nearest village is Snape which is 1 mile away and is accessible by footpath and road. There are many places of interest nearby including Sutton Hoo (8 miles), Orford and Framlingham castles (6 miles) and with Woodbridge Tide Mill (8 miles) and museum providing a wealth of local information. There are many food producers within a 5 miles radius of the Maltings. Minsmere and Dunwich are further up the coast within 16 miles.

Snape Maltings is close to a wide range of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks and farm shops yet is in a very peaceful and tranquil part of the Suffolk countryside.

Booking Notes:
The booking process is either by using the website, email or telephone. A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking with the full balance payable 6 weeks prior to your stay. A good housekeeping deposit of £100 is also required at the time of paying the final balance.

Changeover Day:
It is possible to stay here for a week with the changeover day being Friday or Monday. Weekends are from Friday to Monday with mid week stays from Monday to Friday. It is possible to have different length of stays as we are very flexible!

Outside: There is a communal garden space for the properties with outside seating. Within a few steps there is the River Alde with walks to Iken and Aldeburgh, the world famous concert hall - home to Benjamin Britten and Aldeburgh Music. There is a wonderful array of shops, galleries, restaurants and an antiques collectors centre. River trips are available from March until October. There is a Farmer's Market on the first Saturday of the month with various other events throughout the year such as the Aldeburgh Music festival in June, the renowned Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival in September. There are various exhibitions held throughout the year.

Fantastic Family Holiday - Beautiful Place to Stay

We had the pleasure of staying at No 7 Iken View in August. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, it is furnished to a very high standard and has everything you could ever need (beautiful fluffy towels, super soft bedding, washer/dryer, travel cot, pots, pans and cooking utensils etc). The Maltings shops and eateries are fabulous, we would recommend the food at the Plough and Sail. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic family holiday and look forward to returning one day soon ! We would not hesitate in recommending no7 Iken View.

We are returning visitors to this property, having just spent our second long weekend there. The location makes for a very peaceful and relaxing break; nothing nicer than sitting looking out at the view from the balcony, or through the huge glass folding doors from a comfy chair in the large open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, or while eating breakfast in the morning sun, or at supper watching the light changing over the water as the sun sets. The walks around the area are lovely (and nice and easy!), with good birdlife and a mix of terrain, from water and marshland, to forests, farms and fields. The property is roomy, tastefully furnished, and has all you might need for a comfortable stay - fantastic value for money.

Absolutely Stunning

We were fortunate enough to spend a long weekend in this property late last year and everything about both the property itself and the location were fabulous. Inside the property, the accommodation is laid out over 3 floors with the living and dining and kitchen at the top to take optimum advantage of the amazing views. Everything you could possibly need is provided, from luxury bedding to soft fluffy towels and as we enjoy cooking, we were very pleased to find an amazing array of utensils etc. A stay here is guaranteed to recharge even the most worn out of batteries and having the Maltings with its shops and eateries right on the doorstep means there is no need to venture far unless the lure of Southwold and Aldeburgh tempt you away for a few hours, as they did us. A walkers paradise and wonderful local scenery just complete the picture and we will definitely be returning to this soporific location in the near future. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for an extremely high standard of accommodation, combined with peace and tranquility. It really does tick all the boxes for a long weekend or indeed a full holiday experience.
