Fab cottage conveniently located
What a fab cottage, perfectly located in the centre of the Cotswolds. The photos do not do the cottage any justice - it was tastefully decorated and well equipped. The location is perfect for exploring the town and easy walk to loads of great pubs and restaurants in town. Totally recommended.
A perfect little cottage in a great location. Shops, restaurants and pubs are a minute away, and you can be out in the countryside just as quickly. The cottage was great - attractively decorated and the kitchen was very well equipped. The little basket of goodies left for us was a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning.
Stables Cottage Stow
What a fabulous little cottage. We loved everything about it - The rooms, the décor, the patio garden and the position right in the centre of Stow. Lots to see and do. Plenty of "eateries" for afternoon cream teas (yummmy) or dinners. visit to Budeley Castle a must, also Castleton House. Cotswold Farm Park just a 5 mile drive . A Steam Train ride for a trip down memory lane. With sunshine every day, we couldn't have had a better holiday anywhere else.Would love to return someday.
Lovely Comfortable Cottage
We stayed here for a long weekend break from 23-26th April. It's a beautifully furnished and comfortable cottage, with everything you could possibly need. A lot of attention to details, with a very homely feel. Tracy was very helpful throughout the booking and checked to make sure everything was okay after our arrival. The cottage is perfectly situated for all the pubs, restaurants and shops in Stow, yet is quietly tucked away from the main street. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
Surprise birthday treat delightful cottage everything you could wish for fabulous central location in the centre of Stow. Great places to wine and dine and the countryside and walks picturesque. Will be a revisit with family.
From the Owner
“After spending nearly 30yrs visiting the Cotswolds enjoying the wonderful countryside walks, atmospheric restaurants and pubs, honey stoned walls and unique history. We had an opportunity to acquire this super property in early 2014. It enjoys a southern aspect, cosy feel, and sumptuous furnishings. It is within 5 mins walking distance of the Market Square and has its own parking space. It is easy to find off sheep street.”
Activity and Interests
Special interest holidays:
Stow-on-the-Wold is a delightful market town (population circa. 2000) and along with Moreton in Marsh, perhaps the best known of the small Cotswolds towns.
Stow-on the-Wold is the highest of the Cotswold towns standing exposed on 800 feet high Stow Hill at a junction of seven major roads, including the Roman Fosse Way.
At the height of the Cotswold wool industry the town was famous for its huge annual fairs where as many as 20,000 sheep were sold at one time.
The vast Market Square testifies to the towns former importance. At one end stands the ancient cross, and at the other the town stocks, shaded between an old elm tree. Around the square the visitor is faced with an elegant array of Cotswold town houses and shops.
Stow is an important shopping centre and has many fine Antique shops, Art galleries, Gifts and Crafts and is a centre for Walking the Cotswolds countryside.
Close by the property is an Express Marks and Spencers and a large Tesco.
