A Combination Of Exquisite Seafood Dining, Beautiful Golden Sand Beaches And The Daily Life Of A Fishing And Seaport Town Make Garrucha A Charming Place To Visit. Garrucha Is Also Well Known For Its Magnificent, Golden Sandy Beaches, Stretching As Far As The Eye Can See. "Fantastic Holiday "

We just wanted to say a "Big Thank You" to both Mari & Jackie for giving us a fantastic holiday. It was everything we were told and more. It was lovely to park the car at the start of the holiday and walk to everything we needed. The Marina was exciting, "People Watching" and seeing all the fishermen bring in their catches a real diverse mix of life. It was also enjoyable to visit the many wonderful restaurants and the food was so fresh as well as perfect service from everyone. The apartment is so close to everything with lovely views. The swimming pool was clean and we were the only ones there !, it felt like our own Olympic pool without having to clean it ! The whole complex was cleaned daily and is really pretty. I promise to learn more Spanish Mari, but your English is excellent. The apartment has everything you need and we even had beach mats etc to take to the beach. Again, thank you to you both and we look forward to returning next year.

Lovely Family Holiday

My husband, our twin girls aged 8 and myself have just had an Easter break at this apartment.

Due to previous feedback we were concerned, but decided to pursue our booking.

On arrival we met the owner and translator at the property and was greeted by a warm welcome.

The property was extremely clean and catered for all our needs, and bedding, towels etc. it also had English television which was a bonus.

From the apartment we were able to walk to all amenities, park, beach, harbour, restaurants & shops.

The large swimming pool was clean as were the sub beds and chairs provided.

At no time did we see from our balcony, lots of lorries as previously stated, in fact we had our breakfast on the balcony each morning, which was pleasant and enjoyable in the morning sun. The road is in front of the apartment complex, but hardly visible from the apartment, due to trees etc. We were not disturbed by noise even on the days we spent inside the apartment.

At no time did we feel unsafe in the complex and chatted to the concierge, who was friendly and always around. The apartments were occupied by a mixture of English and Spanish , whom we all found friendly.

Our days out consisted of staying in Garrucha as we felt it had everything we needed. There are various restaurants and cafe bars, serving typical Spanish food and also English meals, which catered for our girls tastes. I would also recommend the excellent ice cream parlour with flavours for adults too.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we would not hesitate to recommend this apartment.

Not safe and noisy

This property was previously listed under reference S27828.

Date of booking: 14 December – 14 March 2015, terminated 26.1.15 owing to break in at apartment.

Ground floor apartment with no security grills in a complex of 90 units – 3 of which are occupied. Owner had stated (in the previous listing and in an email to me) that the property benefited from security cameras and 24 hour concierge on site. On 25th January, 8 of the ground floor apartments were broken into, ours being the only one lived in at the time. Thankfully, we were out, but we lost money and valuables. The claims regarding the security turned out to be false – there are no cameras. The concierge does live on site but is not replaced when he leaves the property or sleeps. Obviously, the owner is not at fault regarding the break in, but the fact that the security she boasted turned out to be non-existent cannot be blamed on anyone else. I note that mention of security cameras has been removed from the most recent listing.

The other problem is location, as development is right alongside a very busy road. The road is 20 metres from the balcony used by regular traffic and also a constant stream of dump trucks taking gypsum to the port. From 6 a.m. until 8 or 9 p.m. they pass by at the rate of 150 – 180 an hour Monday through Saturday, and I believe that the noise and dust pollution will be a real problem for anyone staying there. There is also a series of speed bumps right outside the complex which make a constant drumming noise. When I discussed this with the translator, I was told I had to remember the apartment is cheap! Owner apparently thinking of getting glazing put up on the balcony – something which did not transpire during our 6 weeks there, but may yet be installed. May improve things, depending on quality of the work and materials.

Other reasons I had to contact the translator which received prompt attention were: microwave didn’t work (replaced next day), oven didn't work (table top oven delivered) and shower hose sprayed everywhere (repaired).

If you want to stay near Garrucha, are not concerned about security, will be out all day, and can sleep through traffic noise - this apartment will suit you. Anyone hoping for safe and secure accommodation and a reasonably quiet location will be disappointed. Turned out to be anything BUT cheap!

I Purchased My Apartment On The Glorious Garrucha Coast As It Is a Typical Spanish Resort And It Is Within Walking Distance For all My Needs. Where I Live In What We Call The "Campo" Is 30 Minutes Away From Shops Etc, So Garrucha Offers Me A Relaxing Break and Entertainment Too. It Offers Me The Best Of Both Worlds And I Am Happy To Share My Part Of Paradise With You. It Is A Very Cosmopolitan Resort.

The Apartment Is Within A Short Walk To The Blue Flag Award Winning Beaches Of Garrucha.

Other Beaches Nearby Include: Mojacar, And Vera (5 Minutes Drive).

La Bolaga, Puerto Del Ray, Palomares, Villaricos, Cal Cristal, Cala De Las Cohces And Cala Verde.


Nearest airport is Almeria at 85 kilometres and is 45 minutes drive. (Motorway)

Murcia San Javier Airport is approx. 1 hour 30 mins. (Motorway)

Alicante is approx. 2 hours drive. (Motorway)


Two Buildings Of Architectural Interest Are The Parish Church De San Joaquin And The Hermitage De La Virgen Del Carmen, Walking Distance. Vera Aquatic Park Is A 5 Minutes Drive.
