The bathroom is situated upstairs with a full sized bath and separate shower cubicle. The master bedroom is furnished to a high standard with a king size bed, large wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom has twin beds and also a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The through lounge/diner is bright and benefits from a wide range of books both fiction and non-fiction and has a TV and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave and washing machine. French doors from the kitchen lead to a small patio garden with table and chairs. This cottage offers attractive and comfortable accommodation for those seeking peace and quiet, yet is close to local amenities. Yarmouth is an ideal year round resort with the Lymington to Yarmouth ferry docking in the harbour a few minutes walk from the cottage, so holidaying with or without a car is easy. Please note that Island Holiday Homes offer discounted ferry travel on request. Walking in West Wight is a pleasure with the Needles, Tennyson Down and Alum Bay nearby. Close to the cottage is a beautiful walk down the Yar estuary to Freshwater Bay on the south of the Island. The small town of Yarmouth has a 700ft wooden Victorian pier which is a great vantage point to appreciate the town, enjoy an ice cream or fish for mackerel and bass, fishing permits are available locally. Yarmouth also boasts a castle built by Henry VIII and a pretty church. The town hosts many events during the year, including the famous 'Gaffers' festival during the last weekend of the summer half term. During this festival the town is busy with street entertainment, markets selling food and crafts, and splendid displays of the old boats. Extra Information. Pets Discretionary. The Tennyson Trail is a 15 mile walk from Carisbrooke Castle to The Needles. The route follows across Bowcombe Down, through Brighstone Forest, across Mottistone Down, Brook Down & Afton Down to Freshwater Bay, then onto Tennyson Down & across West High Down to Alum Bay. The name of the trail comes from poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, a former resident of the Isle of Wight. There are several points of interest along the walk
