"We've been holidaying in Owners Direct gites for the past 15 years and this is one of the best appointed properties we have ever stayed in." said Sally-Anne who stayed with her family in 2015. Quellevue dot come and see for yourself.

Modern, yet traditional basque style summer house set in generous grounds which are private, secure and fully enclosed*. The full size, optionally heated pool, generous terrace, lawn, games area and meadow are all yours to enjoy and border onto open countryside with a wonderful view of the mountains. The living area is centred on a large 'sejour' with open fireplace and picture window facing South towards the Pyrenees. A fully equipped kitchen also overlooks the mountains. Of the two main bedrooms, one is double aspect facing South and East over the pool, the second faces South. The occasional 3rd bedroom is best suited for children and includes a single or double bed. The gite is ideal for 4 or 6 people. There is a traditional basque style shower and washroom with 2 hand basins. *Please note that this is a gite, not a private villa. The gite is completely independent and the owners live in separate house in the same grounds. The pool is maintained by and occasionally, but discretely used by owners.

About the Owner

Recently retired and having lived in Dorset (South West England) for many years, Mike and I fell in love with this area 3 or 4 years ago. The ever changing views, the weather, the natural surroundings and of course, those mountains.

Quelle Vue (what a view) is one of two houses built by a local farmer’s daughter in the 80s and we can only live in one of them - so we decided to share the experience with family, friends and now you.

I am here to help if you would like, but also to stay well out of your way if you prefer. Whether you come for the mountains, the local walks and cycles, to paint, write, read or just chill out - I know you will love it.

Guestbook comments from the owner

“Quelle Vue is the gîte that has it all – truly spectacular views, the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside, easy access to the Pyrenees and the warm welcome of friendly hosts!” Adam and Emilie of Versailles

“Nous avons passé de très bons moments au gîte Quelle Vue. Le réveil avec la vue sur la chaîne des Pyrénées est fantastique, les hôtes très chaleureux et bienveillants, et les alentours offrent de nombreuses possibilités d‘excursions. Nous le recommandons avec plaisir et ne manquerons pas d’y retourner prochainement!” Adam and Emilie - Versailles, France.

We stayed at Quelle Vue in September 2014 and enjoyed a wonderful time there. Hosts Pam and Mike were so friendly and welcoming we did not want to leave. They run a very family friendly business and really made us feel welcome. We were looking for a relaxing holiday and found Quelle Vue to be the perfect place. We enjoyed sitting around doing nothing, just admiring the views, as well as exploring the countryside around Souyeaux, which we did on foot, cycle and by car. We will definitely return. John and Christine from Dorset England.

Séjour impeccable !

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay with Mike & Pam: rest, swimming in the great pool, play in the garden or bike around. Far niente watching the view ...

The house is comfortable and spacious.

The reception is great with very significant touches (breakfast in the fridge when we arrived, products in the bathroom ...) and Mike and Pam are both very discreet and present when we need something .

We will come back, I promise !

Quelle Vue fulfills all its promises and more

  • 5 of 5

Everything about Quelle Vue was excellent. The view of the Pyrenees from the gite was truly awesome! The gite's location on a rural road was easily accessible to the nearby town of Tarbes with its outstanding farmers market, many shops and gardens. We enjoyed day trips to villages and sights in the Pyrenees both in Spain and France. (Next visit we plan to visit towns on the Atlantic- Saint Jean de Luz, Biarritz, Cap Breton, etc.) The house was beautiful, spacious, and clean. In our case it easily accommodated 3 adults. The kitchen was well equipped and the pool well maintained daily. Our gite hosts, Pam and Mike, were friendly, helpful and available. We look forward to our return holiday at Quelle Vue and, of course, have recommended it to family and friends.

Pure Relaxation......

  • 5 of 5

First visit to Pyrenees and what a pleasure Pam and Mike were at the Gite. Had a fantastic week with the weather being at it's best. The Gite is large, comfortable and very clean. Everything you need for a holiday is taken cared off. The views from the Gite is to die for and had many a day having breakfast or evening dinner on the patio overlooking the Pyrenees mountains. The pool is a brilliant way to chill out or cool of at the end of the day. Had a fab time and will be coming back to Quellvue.

Superb family gite with stunning view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Quelle Vue for 1 week at the beginning of August 2016 and had a fantastic week. The views to the Pyrenees mountains in the distance are absolutely stunning and I enjoyed surveying the landscape with the gite’s own excellent wide-angle binoculars! The property was spotlessly clean and spacious and well equipped. There was an abundance of space in the property and the garden for our 3 girls to spread out, relax and enjoy themselves. They particularly enjoyed playing badminton, petanque and chilling out in the hammock reading and soaking up the sun. We were in the lovely big swimming pool every day. The pool was great; clean and maintained by Mike every day. We spent pretty much every day in there at some point! The property is in a great location for visiting the surrounding area. We can recommend: the cable car up to Pic du Midi, the circular walk to Cirque de Gavarnie waterfall for breathtaking scenery, and the bob luge at the Hautacam ski resort. Mike and Pam were the perfect hosts and helped us to have a wonderful relaxing holiday. Thanks again.

Very beautiful, well organised and clean

  • 5 of 5

The house is very lovely, with a very large sitting room and fabulous view over the valley. The evening sky is amazing and the vanishing and reappearing mountains breathtaking. Everything in the house, garden and pool is beautifully arranged and Mike and Pam were very kind in helping us with finding a vet.

Wow factor !

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at QuelleVue for 2 weeks returning to the UK on 6th August 2016. We have holidayed in the south of France twice before but this proved to be the most spectacular venue we have ever rented. The gite was spotlessly clean and our every comfort was catered for. The views of the mountains were stunning and the outdoor pool proved ideal for swimming and catering for the needs of a 9 and 16 year old. Pam and Mike were the perfect hosts and their help and advice made this one of our best holidays ever. We will never forget our cable ride to the top of the Pic di Midi.

Owner's Response: It is always good to hear the noise and laughter coming from the pool and surrounding play areas, it confirms for us that people are having a great time! Thank you for your kind comments about our 'spectacular venue' we will endeavour to maintain the high standards and the mountains will always be there beckoning our lovely guests to visit whether it is the Pic du Midi or any one of several Cols. From the Owner

The view is fabulous across the valleys to the mountains and the house has a certain 'wow' factor. The pool setting (facing South with a 180 degrees view of the countryside and mountains) is just such a relaxing place to prepare for or recover from those trips to the mountains. Most of the places that you can see on the horizon, or you just know are nestled away in a hidden valley are less than 50 kms (an hour away by car). Historic castles, mountain passes, waterfalls, spas or adventure forests - just waiting to be explored. Slightly further there are mountain railways, UNESCO Heritage sites and the Atlantic coast with the beaches and charm of Biarritz, St Jean de Luz and San Sebastian just over the border into Spain.
