Little Fig is a deceptively large and beautifully designed property with the accommodation all on one level. It has 3 bedrooms (sleeping six) and 2 bathrooms. The reception space makes it ideal for mixed ages and families alike with a large dining hall (dining table that seats 10), sitting room/sun room and a drawing room. The large garden offers plenty of lawned area plus a terrace with dining table and chairs for 6, deep herbaceous borders, a herb garden, wild flower meadow and young orchard.

I spent my childhood in Aldeburgh and my husband and I plan to retire here.

We bought our cottage in September 2013 and simply love our time here. Whilst we can't be here all the time we are happy for holiday-let guests to enjoy our house as much as we do.

Immaculate bungalow in a perfect location

We have stayed at Little Fig twice now. It is an immaculately kept property which is very bright and airy, with a large pretty garden. It's within a few minutes walking distance of Aldeburgh and the sea front, but set in a very quiet location. We can't fault the customer service from the owners. It's so nice we'd really like to keep it to ourselves!

Little Fig - Fabulous place to stay

Little Fig is a wonderful, spacious, bright place to stay. The place was spotless, beds comfy, peaceful, just perfect! We spent quite a lot of time in the beautiful garden. Our children, 9 and 8 loved it. Just a short walk to the High Street in Aldeburgh. Highly recommended.

Little Fig - an outstanding cottage very close to the sea and town.

Little Fig is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. On arrival it was spotlessly clean and had such a warm and welcoming feeling about it. My family consisted of 4 adults, 2 teenage children and 2 black labs. There was plenty of room and we were able to spend a wonderful Christmas together as a family.

The bedrooms were excellent and spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable.

There was plenty of wardrobe/draw space in all rooms.

The living space was outstanding. The lounge was very cozy and comfortable.

The kitchen was the only room that seemed a little small for the size of the house but with the utility room backing onto this room there was not a feeling of tight space and it was sufficient for our group.

Christmas dinner around the very large, spacious table was very nice and perfect for us.

Location was perfect and we could not have asked for any better. Walking distance to the beach/sea, local shops and restaurants. Tesco and Co-op were also conveniently located.

Overall it was the perfect week for me and my family and we would definitely consider returning for a summer or winter break.

Third Great Visit

Again a fantastic stay at Little Fig. The property met the family needs, including those of a 89 year old and a 10 week old puppy. Everything spotless on arrival. Great enclosed garden. Good towels. We eat in some nights, everything there for preparation of a reasonably substantial meal.

Had our usual visits to Thorpeness, Orford, Southwold, Sutton Hoo. All Great. Had a good mooch up and down Aldeburgh High Street. after an easy walk from Little Fig.

Eat at the Dolphin, Thorpeness and the Mill , Aldeburgh. Good "pub grub" and great beer. Also had a good meal at the Lighthouse.

All being well, we will be back next year..

Enjoyed our stay at Little Fig

Highly Recommended.

We had a most enjoyable time at Little Fig. The property was very clean and well maintained, with quality furnishings and linen. There was plenty of space for us to use; the formal lounge and extra sitting room were great and the dining table was plenty big enough for us. We also enjoyed the pretty garden with a lawn to play and areas to explore. The combination of Owners Direct and the Owner (Sarah) worked well; we received excellent customer service.

We had two grandchildren staying with us and used the location as a base. The property is located on a quiet lane and is private, yet convenient for the town centre, beach and shopping. We explored further afield and went to Thorpeness, Southwold and Lowestoft. This property is highly recommended as a quality holiday venue and location.

The Best Property We've Rented In Aldeburgh!

We love Aldeburgh and have rented cottages many times over the years but Little Fig was simply the nicest and most special. The interiors are beautiful and the rooms, full of light, flow really well - great for a party of 3 different generations. The garden is beautiful and we enjoyed using the herbs from the herb garden. The kitchen had everything we needed from frying an egg to baking a cake - foolproof!

Aldeburgh is a very special town and is easy to access from Little Fig, as is the beach; both circa 6 minutes walk. We will definitely be coming back to Little Fig.

It's Aldeburgh! Great location, quiet and tucked away with a large garden but within 5 minutes walk of the beach and High Street.

Special interest holidays:

Aldeburgh has many festivals including the world reknowned Aldeburgh Music Festival at Snape Maltings and additionally food, literary & poetry festivals. There are a number of excellent art galleries in the town and many other nearby towns offering a lot of culture and history. Aldeburgh and other nearby towns offer some award winning restaurants. The area offers many beautiful walks and RSPB Minsmere is within 5 miles.


Aldeburgh beach is just 5 minutes walk from the property. In the other direction, and just 3 minutes walk away are the beautiful marshes and river wall.

  • Outside: Set in almost 1/3 acre the property enjoys a stunning, predominantly Southwest facing, garden comprising large lawned areas, a terrace, deep herbaceous beds, a herb garden, a wild flower garden and young orchard. Utility Room: Washer-Dryer (with washing line in garden). An additional drinks fridge and a Baby Belling. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. During a 2 week stay sheets and towels will be changed at the end of the first week. The property can be cleaned midway through a 2 week stay on request. Other: Little Fig offers substantial reception space allowing different age groups privacy if required.
