8th time here, still wonderful cottage and beautiful scenery.

Can recommend the Steamboat Inn for traditional pub food if you want somewhere you can take your dog(s) in too. (at Carsethorn).

5 star accommodation

We have just arrived home after a weeks stay in Victory Cottage and this property has everything you could wish for and so much more. Linda was there upon arrival to show us around and advise us on walks and places to eat in the area. She also provided the most amazing welcome hamper and basket of fruit, even the dogs got their own treats and towels. There were fully stocked cupboards in a well equipped kitchen and everything about this property was top notch. The living room, bedrooms, bathroom, gardens, summerhouse and views. I could go on and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to everyone. Thank you so much Linda and Peter

What a wonderful cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Victory cottage was quite the best cottage we have ever stayed in . It was very well equipped, comfortable, warm , clean , well furnished and decorated , well maintained , fabulous big garden and views ,etc etc ! The welcome pack of delicious goodies was amazing and the huge bed with its gorgeous bedding completed our holiday experience.

We found the area beautiful, unspoilt and uncommercialised with lovely walks direct from the cottage . The dog loved the huge beach when the tide was out .

Stunning cottage in amazing location - would definitely stay again.

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we were greeted by Linda who could not have been more welcoming - the info on the area and local restaurants that she gave was extremely helpful. The luxury welcome pack was more than we could have hoped for and all of us were thrilled after a long journey to be welcomed into such a lovely cottage.

The views were beautiful and the gardens and summer house absolutely delightful. The cottage appealed to all of us and my children loved their bedroom and the space in and outside the cottage.

The cottage was immaculate - the bed the comfiest I have ever slept on and the living room area a pleasure to be in and relax.

Linda and Peter had thought of everything from games to dvds to fishing nets and buckets and spades to help keep them amused.

We would definitely return here but for longer next time as the area has so much to offer and the cottage was the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in by far! I have already told friends the details in case they ever want to experience the amazing holiday we had here.

Location

From the Owner

Victory Cottage is located in the exclusive quiet and peaceful hamlet of Portling, offering superb sea views and easy access to various beaches in the area, with Port O’Warren beach a very short walk down the lane. The cottage became available in 2010 and we thought it made an ideal location for the perfect luxury seaside holiday retreat and set about a total refurbishment to a very high standard. We added a sympathetic sun porch and also a large summerhouse on the top terrace of the garden - the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning sea views from. The cottage is easily accessed on a private lane and is situated on the coastal path between Sandyhills Beach and Rockcliffe Beach and the path can be accessed privately from the garden – ideal for walking dogs.
