About the property

Alamar, La Cala De Mijas,10 minute stroll to La Cala beach and lively resort, but set in a peaceful location

The apartment is beautiful and located in a wonderful area; close to La Cala town and beach; fully equipped and newly furnished to a very high standard; air conditioning throughout (hot & cold). There is a superb terrace, with comfortable seating to enjoy the morning sunshine, and a table and chairs to eat al fresco. There is access to the terrace from the living area and both bedrooms, through sliding patio doors.

Outside, there are lovely landscaped gardens to enjoy, with many beautiful flower beds, a large communal pool with showers, changing rooms and toilets. There is a Paddle Tennis court on site (free and bookable at the entrance reception). The complex and entrance are gated with 24hr security and there is ample car parking around the complex.

The lovely old fishing village of La Cala de Mijas is a 10 minute walk and offers plenty of choice in bars, restaurants, specialist shops and supermarkets. The beautiful sandy beach is 8 minutes walk, with a choice of beach bars when you want to quench your thirst, hire of beds with shades and plenty of space for all. There is also a great children's play area and park only 5 mins walk from the apartment. For your everyday grocery needs there is a Lidl’s supermarket opposite the complex which also has a fresh fish, meat and deli counter.

There is a good bus service from La Cala that will take you to the popular towns of Fuengirola and Marbella and also the city of Malaga. Buses run approximately every 30 mins, the timetable is in the apartment.

Locals and tourists come from across Andalucía to visit the very popular La Cala markets, (held each Wednesday & Saturday), with craft, art, locally grown fruit and vegetable, less than 5 minute walk away. There is also a small organic market held in the village square on Sundays, with local olives, honey, oils and beauty products a speciality.

The open plan living area in the apartment has comfortable seating for 6 persons, 47’’ TV with local cable and UK television channels, DVD and Radio/CD player, plus table and chairs for dining. There is also free secure wifi internet access throughout.

There is a well spaced fully fitted kitchen and breakfast bar, with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, hob, oven and microwave.

The master bedroom has fitted wardrobes, double bed with bedside tables, dressing table console with full-length mirror, plus en-suite bathroom with bath, shower (full power overhead, massage and hand held jet).

The second bedroom has fitted wardrobes, two single beds with bedside tables and dressing table console.

Hairdryers and an iron are provided so no need to pack the travelling ones. There is a safe in the entrance area that you code for the duration of your stay.

Why Steve Jenkins & Sue Crabb chose Mijas area

We chose this property for its location in La Cala and the quality of the complex. When we were away in May 2014 for my birthday, my wife and I spent a good part of the week viewing lots of different properties along the Costa del Sol, all along the coast, but when we visited La Cala de Mijas, instantly fell in love with the town. It was only a matter of time before we found the right property, and on the last day searching, thankfully we viewed the Alamar complex. It ticks all the boxes for us; close to beach, town, golf, pool, beautiful countryside, not too far from the airport, cheap flights, and the building will last for many years!

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment sells itself; large 2 bedrooms, lots of terrace, and only a stroll away from the busy, yet relaxing town and beach of La Cala. There is an extra large terrace to while away the time relaxing/dining/chatting/sunbathing, and all the mod cons to make it a home from home.

Perfect Villa

As a young family traveling with a 3 year old it was the perfect place to stay, very easy to find, 20 mins from Malaga airport, the villa was lovely couldn't fault a thing, very clean and had everything we needed and very spacious, having a 3 year old the complex was very secure ;)

We had a Lidl just over from the apartment which was perfect, a huge play park and beach about 10min walk from the villa, bars restaurants also in walking distance, Sue and Steve the owners were very helpful and made it a very smooth stay

Would highly recommend ;)

Fantastic Winter Sun!

A terrific apartment, beautifully decorated and modern. Christine greeted us on the first day (speaks fluent English and Spanish) and was a great help in fixing the internet. La Cala de Mijas is a wonderful beach and town with lots of lovely restaurants. Tried a few times to speak Spanish but so many people here speak English! Also the Liddle down the road is ideal being just a couple of mins walk away.

A very quiet area and we enjoyed a few good days of sunshine and sightseeing.

Clients who wish to book Sue and Steve apartment can be assured the professional approach is second too none, you are informed at all stages of your booking procedure nothing is to much trouble.

This continue on arrival Christine continues with the professionalism and explains all aspects relating to the facilities within the apartment, and a demonstration if required.

Shh.. Don't tell anyone how great this place is!

Perfect home from home facilities- although I decided not to bother with the washing machine- I was on holiday after all! (But it's there if you need it) We were messaged by the housekeeper the day before and she arranged to meet us on our arrival from the airport - despite the check in time of 3pm we arrived around noon- bonus! The appartment is excellently maintained, clean, modern and the complex is equally as well looked after. You can be as active or as lazy as you choose here- there's a great paved beach walk that stretches along the coast - ideal for an early morning run and there's a beach gym suitable for the most discerning gym bunny - equally the beach is clean, the tide barely moves and is just perfect for just lying there- doing nothing! We hired a car and went to Gibralter for a day - (hour and 15 minutes)- don't forget your passport!! We also went to Marbella (wouldn't bother again) and Peurto Banus- great for shopping and seeing how the other half live- I loved it here. Plenty of options for restaurants- don't worry about the language barrier- there isn't one. The accommodation gets some sun on the balcony late morning to mid afternoon but also offers welcome shade. The scrabble board featured daily which provided us with much banter- a nice touch to get the family together around the table. No complaints... We're already booked for next year!

Wonderful apartment, wonderful holiday

Apartment fitted out to a very high standard with all the things that you would have at home. Complex was very clean and well maintained, even had bananas growing in the grounds! A very relaxing place to be. Location perfect for our needs, with a well stocked Lidl within a 5 minute walk. Bars, beaches and restaurants aplenty, with a very laid back feel. Local bus ran every half hour - would recommend the trip from Marbella to Peurto Banus on the catamaran and a visit to Los Porches traditional Spanish restaurant across the road from Lidl as well as trying the beach bar barbecues. All in all, a lovely holiday in a fab apartment and will definitely be re-visiting.

A Perfect Holiday Apartment

We all absolutely loved the holiday we spent in Steve and Sue's beautiful apartment in La Cala!

The apartment was spotless, comfortable, and very well equipped. The complex was also well maintained with beautiful gardens and a large communal pool area.

La Cala Is a beautiful holiday resort, as it boasts excellent beaches, cafe's, bars, restaurants, and of course excellent transport links to nearby Marbella and surrounding area.

We would highly recommend this apartment for comfort and location, and would love to return again in the near future!

We chose this property for its location in La Cala and the quality of the complex. It was only a matter of time before we found the right property, and on the last day searching, thankfully we viewed the Alamar complex. It ticks all the boxes for us; close to beach, town, golf, pool, beautiful countryside, not too far from the airport, cheap flights, and the building will last for many years!

La Cala de Mijas beach and town are a 10 minute walk away.

Travel:

Malaga airport is 35km or 21 miles away and Gibraltar is 60 miles. Flight prices are very competitive, especially if booked in advance (look out for the regular sales from Ryanair, Monarch and Easyjet).

Its a straight forward 40 mins by car/taxi. Car hire is not necessary, but you are advised to pre-book. Public transport is plentiful and cheap, and we have found the Train/Bus combination the best option.

Further Details:

There are around 50 restaurants, cafes and bars, of varying prices, catering for all tastes from curries to English breakfasts, Chinese restaurants to tapas, Spanish cuisine and Japanese! we especially love the chiringuita's on the beach for fresh caught and cooked fish. The village has banks, newsagent, supermarkets, internet cafe's and much more.
