About the property

Badgers Cottage sleeps 8 and is ideal for a family beach holiday

Set in the heart of the cove, right next to the sea, with the Lifeboat House and fishing harbour in view. We are really RIGHT next to the beach. You can see and hear the sea and be on the beach in a couple of minutes.

Walk down our path and stand on the seafront...with your cup of tea or sit and relax in the front garden with a glass of wine and enjoy the fantastic sunsets. A perfect base to explore the local area.

About Monica

Hello my name is Monica.

I have four children and live in Exeter. Our family still live in the village, and we have been enjoying our holidays here for over 25 years and love being by the sea at Badgers Cottage.

Badgers Cottage sits in a row of four beautifully appointed granite cottages, with views of the sea. We bought Badgers Cottage in the summer of 1997.

Badgers cottage was renovated in 2010, and Badgers Loft, a new loft conversion was completed in 2014 and we now have many guests return year after year to stay.

Monica purchased this cottage in 1997

Why Monica chose Sennen

Loads to do and see nearby....

Coastal walks; Lands End is a 30 minute walk along the South West Coast Path

St Ives/St Just/Penzance are all a short drive away or take the open top bus from the bus stop in the cove.

The famous Minack Theatre is 5 miles away with a wonderful season of theatre, music and storytelling.

Whitesands beach...Perfect powder white sand beach with lifeguards during the summer months, and Sennen Surf Centre and surf shop on your doorstep for all surf lessons and equipment hire.

Ben Tunnicliffe's restaurant is situated on the beach with cafes and a local shops in the village for all the bits you forgot to bring!

Badgers cottage has a separate loft with its own access and outside space, which can be rented separately if you are a larger family looking for extra room.

What makes this cottage unique

Badgers Cottage has four bedrooms, 2 double rooms and 2 twin bedrooms with bunk beds. The open plan living room includes a large dining table, sofas with wood burner and french door access to the rear garden. Painted wooden floors and shutters are part of the seaside charm of our cottage.

Back garden and access via a private lane, for all the usual surf gear.

A front garden to sit and look out at the ocean, is the perfect place to be and less than a minute walk from the famous Whitesands surf beach.

With the Old Success Inn, coastal walks and the fantastic open top bus route to St. Ives, Sennen lifeboat station and local Sennen farmers market all in walking distance, makes this the perfect place for your family holiday.

Parking is available in the road out of season.

Land's End 1 mile on the coastal foot path 2 miles by road.

Further Details:

The cove has a pub, fish and chip shop, local amenities store, surf hire centre and surf schools, ice cream shop, surf shop, life boat and two well recommended restaurants. Super market and post office up in the village.

Farmers market weekly on a tuesday morning behind Sennen school.

There are life guards on the beach during the summer months.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Badgers Cottage is the last in a row of 4 pretty granite cottages, and is accessed by a path from the road. A loft apartment is available with its own access. This is let separately and sleeps 2. Cleaning and linen included. Changed weekly. Cleaning service only for changeovers. Hand towels, tea towels & bath mats included. Guests will need to bring own bath and beach towels. The front garden has a large wooden table and chairs, a bench and fantastic views over the bay. The back garden has an outside tap, garden furniture, rotary washing line and back access to the cove. The cottage does not have a dedicated parking space, however there is plenty of space to unload and several nearby car parks in the cove. During the off season parking is permitted on the roadside. Dogs are permitted on the beach during summer months (Easter to October) before 8 am and after 7 pm) Please look after and respect our cottage and leave clean and tidy.

A lovely bright & fashionable beach cottage

Badgers Cottage and Loft are situated right on the sea front in Sennen Cove. Being tucked back from the road, the cottage offers peace and tranquility; but decide you'd like a late afternoon swim or surf or glass of wine, and its a mere hope and a skip from you front door. The cottage takes its style cue from the sea and there is a lovely crisp and clean nautical theme throughout. Showers and bathrooms are clean and everything works well. The kitchen is a lovely size- roomy and well stocked with pots pans and ample cooking equipment. We cooked in every night and really enjoyed doing so. The cottage has clearly had a refurbishment recently and is very well maintained, with help on hand should you need anything.

Parking is in the main car park and you can buy a voucher for a week ( if the machines are working) otherwise its a fiver a day, which is fine, but means you have to remember to renew the ticket. The front garden catches the afternoon sun and i sat out many an evening sipping a glass of wine and reading as the sun set over the horizon. The back garden is functional - great for wetsuits and drying things, but we tended to use the front or the beach.

We would definitely return again and my daughter was staying upstairs in Badgers loft at the same time, which worked perfectly.

Cracking cottage in a great position in Sennen Cove - great for family stays

We had a fantastic week staying in Badgers Cottage - excellent weather helped but also the position of the Cottage right on the sea front meant that walking to the beautiful sandy beach of Whitesands Bay takes literally minutes, the excellent Old Success Inn is even closer and our kids loved being allowed to walk along the pavement down to the Old Boathouse 'corner' shop to get the paper and maybe some sweets each day!

The cottage is well appointed and spacious enough for two families without being enormous - the two bathrooms do come in handy! It's nicely decorated, clean and there's a great front garden area for catching the last of the sun and watching the sunset.

A car parking space would make this place perfect, but it's not a big issue as there's a choice of two car parks very close by if the parking restrictions are in place (from 1st April I think) - £3.50 for day's parking in the Harbour car park.

We will be returning!

Our sunshine holiday

We had the most wonderful week at Sennen.

The cottage is very well equipped,and has a glorious sea view,from the front of the house.

Parking was not an issue for us ,but maybe during the height of summer.

The enclosed back garden was brilliant for our dog.

The website pictures do not do this delightful cottage justice.

Bookings and enquiries can be made by email or telephone.
Please note we do not take bookings for duration of stay under 7 nights.

You are very welcome to book and stay for a couple of nights but the price will be the same.

25% Deposit payable with completed booking form.
Balance and damages retainer due 4 weeks prior to stay. Waiver for damages of £100 as a separate cheque or BACS payment.

Confirmation Email, with all necessary booking details, sent once balance received.
£100 damage waiver - returned/destroyed after stay.Please send SAE if you require cheque back.

Cottage may be available at very late notice on a Friday night for short breaks if week before not booked but in general is a weekly booking.

No smoking allowed in the cottage

Dogs by negotiation only.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is changeover day - arrival time is 3pm. Check out time 10am.

The cleaner comes in at 10am!

Bookings cancelled will result in no deposit returned unless we are able to re let your week.
We will happily move your deposit to another week of your choice and help as much as we can.. Please ensure you have adequate holiday insurance for all eventualities!
