A romantic 'get away' cottage in the heart of Woodstock

Updated: 22-Oct-2016
Cottage in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England - A cosy, comfortable cottage situated in the historic Cotswold town of Woodstock

The Corner House is situated in Hensington Road, one of the most desirable roads in the historic town of Woodstock. This lovely property is conveniently placed close to a free car park, away from the busy High Street but just a few steps walk from all amenities. The cottage has been recently renovated and furnished to a very high standard providing well equiped comfortable, cosy accommodation. The Corner House has a pretty secluded patio garden, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. As a point of interest, Woodstock was once world famous for glove making and this delightful cottage, which boasts FIVE chimneys, was the home of one of the glove factory supervisors (very fitting as the number of chimneys was a sign of wealth and affluence). If you're looking for a very romantic place to stay, and love the idea of being close to some of Oxfordshire's nicest places to eat, this is the property and town for you!

Lovely cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this lovely cosy, clean and well situated cottage with my two daughters. The cottage is less than a minute from the village centre which has lots of great restaurants and pubs, although we did eat in aswell and the cottages kitchen was very well equiped. The decoration is modern but keeps that cottage feeling, and the bathroom is clean and modern with an excellent shower. I would certainly recommend this cottage for a stay in Woodstock and I'm sure we will be back.

Perfect Oxfordshire cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cottage right in the heart of Woodstock. It is very comfortable and was perfect for our 5 day stay. Linda and her husband were excellent hosts , with nothing being a problem. The milk and wine in the fridge was a lovely touch especially after a long drive. Woodstock is a very pretty village with good pubs and restaurants. It is the perfect spot for exploring the surrounding countryside. I would highly recommend staying in the Olivers' cottage.

From the Owner

I have lived in this area all of my life, so know it really well. The area has some wonderful walks for all ages and abilities, the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace are particularly suitable for all from babes in pushchairs, young tots on bikes and scooters, to joggers, runners and nature lovers alike. Guests can enjoy the many eateries in the town or escape to the quite countryside. Woodstock has easy access to Oxford, The Cotswolds, Bath, London and Stratford upon Avon can be reached quite easily. And all are worth a visit.

Activity and Interests

The cottage is just a few steps away from the main town centre.

Blenheim Park and Blenheim Palace is just a few minutes walk away.

The city of Oxford is 8 miles away and boasts many restaurants and bars and, of course, its world famous colleges and covered market.

The designer outlet centre at Bicester, which attracts visitors from all around the world, is just a 20 minute drive away.

Further Details:

Woodstock has everything you need, a supermarket, Chemist, Doctors surgery, Barclays Bank and an excellent Post Office - Woodstock even has an outdoor swimming pool which the children will love..

There are some fantastic places to eat (or just drink). The Kings Arms has an excellent atmosphere and they hold a half price champagne evening every Wednesday (go on, push the boat out!). Brothertons, the Italian Bistro, still boasts its original working gas lamps as well as serving excellent food. There's a Chinese take away, a Chinese restaurant, an excellent Indian restaurant, 3 Italian restaurants, a fish and chip shop and numerous pubs and bars and cafes.
