Holiday Home near Polzeath, Wadebridge, England - One Mile From Polzeath Beach And 2 Minutes Walk From A Footpath Across Our Farmland To The Coast

The Wheat Store is located in a peaceful setting at one end of our traditional Cornish farmhouse. It has stunning views and is newly furnished in a contemporary style.

It is ideally located for surfing at Polzeath, sailing at Rock, cycling the Camel Trail and walking the Coastal Footpath. Padstow can be reached by ferry from Rock or by cycling along the edge of the Camel Estuary from Wadebridge. The picturesque fishing village or Port Isaac is only 5 miles away.

Because the Wheat Store has central heating and a cosy wood burner it is ideal for short winter breaks as well as summer holidays

About the Owner

Mike & Clare Parnell live in Carruan farmhouse adjoining the property. Clare grew up at Carruan and it remains a family farm which is now run by Mike, Clare and their nephew Philip.

The farm has 1000 breeding ewes. The main lambing is for a month from the end of January and a smaller flock in March and April. 140 calves are bought from a local dairy farm in February and reared through to sale at 18 - 20 months. The farm also grows wheat and barley. Although most of the farm buildings are situated away from Carruan there is still plenty going on should guests want to get involved - perhaps helping move sheep to fresh pastures aided by the 4 working dogs.

Fabulous Luxury Stay at The Wheat Store

We had three nights at The Wheat Store in September 2016 and it was just fabulous. Claire & Mike have a beautiful property and make you feel very welcome. The apartment is beautifully appointed and is very clean and warm, with lovely views over the farmland and to Polzeath.

Everything from the large, very comfortable bed, the large fluffy towels, the well equipped kitchen and just the comfort and space made this a very relaxing environment to be in.

The welcome gift of scones, homemade jam, clotted cream & bottle of beer for the better half, was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. We will look forward to staying again and would highly recommend this gorgeous apartment. Many thanks Claire & Mike.

Perfect place to stay, with stunning views and a great location. Would highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Wheat Store, it has everything inside you could need, plus the charm and surrounds of an ideal location! Clare and Mike made us feel very welcome and were only a stones throw away if needed. I would highly recommend this place to stay and look forward to seeing there other property which is based in Padstow.

Lovely flat in a beautiful place

The Wheatstore is a very comfortable and well equipped flat in a beautiful location with a charming private garden. The bed is huge and very comfy and the flat has fantastic views to the sea. Mike and Clare and wonderful hosts and we hope to return before too long.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful apartment

We had such a perfect stay at Mike and Clare's cottage. We were warmly welcomed in person with scones and beer and were so impressed with the apartment which is even more impressive than the pictures! It is incredibly spacious and has everything needed for a relaxing stay. The views from the sitting room are spectacular and we would have enjoyed using the log burner if it had been cooler! Mike and Clare were so friendly and welcoming which made us feel so at home there. We certainly hope to return very soon - thank you so much for a special holiday!

Great place to explore and relax

Better than the photos suggest. All done to a really high standard. Spacious and well equipped with a very private BBQ and garden area. Great location for walks and drives around the area. Great local restaurants and pubs. Quiet and peaceful.

This is a family farm that was bought by Clare's father in 1958. It is a fabulous place to live and work.

The Wheat Store is part of Carruan Farm which is a family run beef, sheep and arable farm. If you are interested we are very happy to show you how we farm and care for our beautiful countryside

5 minutes drive to Polzeath or a 15 minute walk. 10 minutes drive to Daymer Bay and Rock.

Travel:

It would be difficult to access the property without a car.

Distances:

1 mile to Polzeath.

3 miles to Rock & then 10 mins by ferry to Padstow

5 miles to Wadebridge with cycling to Padstow or to Bodmin Moor

There are restaurants at all of the above and at the Point which is 2 mins drive away

A complimentary basket of logs is provided for the wood burner. If you would like any groceries ready for your arrival, just give us a couple of days notice and we will have them waiting for you.
