Great house in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Harbormaster’s house. The setting and facilities were excellent. The house has all mod cons and had everything we needed including Wi-Fi and a well-equipped modern kitchen. The house has plenty of light and a delightful balcony area where you can sit and relax while enjoying the views of the river Deben with the boats, ducks and swans passing you by. If you would prefer to take in the sights by foot there is a lovely walkway along the river just adjacent to the house. The Anchor pub is a 2 minute walk across the road and serves tasty pub grub. The house is also within easy walking distance to the train station and the various shops, restaurants and coffee shops in Woodbridge. The owners Lorraine and Peter were very welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. We cannot imagine anyone not enjoying their time there and would highly recommend.

Special interest holidays:

Art Safari holidays occupy the adjacent building and may have suitable tuition on certain dates.

Warm, dry motor boat trips may be arranged through us.

Best beach at Aldeburgh - 20 minutes by car. At the north side of the river Deben's mouth is Bawdsey quiet, strong tides on river but beach to the north has its followers.

Woodbridge railway station is close, services to London Liverpool Street - about 1.5 hours by train, imed connection change at Ipswich.

This holiday home is ideal for a non car break to a splendid view at the edge of one of the prettiest towns on the East Coast.

A car allows access to the Suffolk coast, country side and birds.

To one side of central Woodbridge- 15 minutes walk to everywhere. Sutton Hoo is an international National Trust museum and Saxon ship burial site about 3 miles walk along the always dry river bank with an abrupt short slope at the end (downhill coming back)

Further Details:

Three ATM closeby. Lloyds, NatWest and Barclays banks.
