Perfectly situated cozy home away from home

  • 4 of 5

This was a very cozy, comfortable apartment perfectly situated near plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. You honestly couldn't ask for a better location to get just out of the busy inner Edinburgh but still close enough that you are easily able to access everything good & popular in the big city. This is very much a walking city so be prepared for the four triple flights of stairs to get to the apartment. It was very secure though, with key access to get into the building. Definitely would recommend this place for a reasonably priced home away from home.

Everything you could possibly want!

  • 5 of 5

We recently enjoyed a weekend in Leith. The apartment was lovely, really clean and decorated to a high standard. A welcome pack with all the essentials was waiting for us. We felt very comfortable and at home there. Catherine was really easy to communicate with and gave clear instructions regarding arrival at the apartment. The surrounding area was full of restaurants and bars and everyone was very friendly. We visited the Royal Yacht Britannia which was a short walk from The Shore and also managed to fit in a show at the Playhouse. All in all the perfect weekend in bonny Scotland!

3 Night Stay in Edinburgh

  • 4 of 5

What a great Flat in Leith! Very Nicely decorated, clean and organized space with everything you'll need. Catherine and Patrick were so kind and did a great job with tips for getting around and sights to see. We stayed 3 nights with our 2 teenage kids who managed to share the pullout. They were two tired to care at the end of all our walking and hiking up to Arthur's Seat, The Royal Mile and Market places of Old town! Couldn't get any easier to take the bus in Edinburgh. Both stops are just steps out the door. You can download their local bus app and ticket app to make getting around even easier. Wifi on buses too! Restaurants, Pubs and a little grocery right down the street. Quiet neighborhood and felt very safe! Mind the seagulls early in the morning if the windows are open. Or just bring ear plugs. Would love to come back and stay at this great little flat in a great location!

A lovely flat for a week in Edinburgh

  • 5 of 5

Catherine's flat was lovely.

Very clean and comfortable.

A warm welcome when we arrived.

The bus-stop for going into town was a very short walk from the front door.

I'd be happy to recommend this flat as a great place to stay.

Very nice flat in a great location with many restuarants and bars within 5 minutes walk.

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time and Leith is a superb location. The flat is modern with nice fixtures and fittings and a great shower. Only very slight negatives are the stairs (as you are on the 3rd floor) and the view would be better if the flat was at the front of the building but otherwise perfect. There are numerous restaurants with excellent food and pubs with lots of character, as well as a large shopping centre within a 10 minute walk and a Sainsbury's local just around the corner. Directly on 2 bus routs into Edinburgh - not expensive and only takes 15 minutes so an ideal base if attending the Fringe or any other event in the city.

Everything I Could Have Asked For!

  • 5 of 5

This third floor walkup was perfect for my stay in Edinburgh. Extremely convenient for bus, pubs, and market. The immediate area was lively and comfortable, but the neighborhood just a few blocks away felt a little unsafe. It seems a wonderfully gentrified enclave in an otherwise industrial area. Walked from Leith to city center during the day, but would not do it at night, at least as a woman alone.

I was touched upon arrival to see milk, juice and water in the fridge and a bottle of wine and welcome card from Catherine. She has attended to so many details to make this space work very well for a long stay. All the kitchen items I could need, a shower with great pressure, abundant quality clothes hangars, a drawer full of visitor information, a very detailed instruction binder. I can't think of anything I didn't care for or needed!

The living room windows face a back courtyard below and a row of old buildings with tons of character. My favorite time of each day was sitting on a bar stool at the window, with a glass of wine, listening to seagulls, pidgeons and other birds call and squawk as they swooped, flocked and floated around. It felt like heaven.

While I was ready to leave Edinburgh at the end of the week, I was sad to leave the home away from home that Catherine has created. I highly recommend it for a single or couple.

Thank you, Catherine!!!
