About the Owner

My husband and I and our young son live on the family farm with our two sheepdogs Ben and Jess, our three cats; Tabby, Tom and Harry, a flock of 300 sheep and their lambs and 150 beef cattle. We grow vegetables which we sell directly from the farm and look forward to welcoming guests to our three 200 year old barn conversion holiday cottages.

“Just perfect”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

First impression is that it's a beautiful place, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, great. But once you settle in you realise that the cottage is even better than it looks - because it has everything you you could possibly need, and everything is in a sensible place. Truly it's like a second home. Reading the guest book I noted the little messages all began "this is our seventh stay...", "fourth time here...", "another weekend visiting...".

Lovely cottage, obviously run fantastically well. Highly recommend it!

From Booking the Hayloft i knew we would be well looked after Natalie responded to my request straight away from then on was just perfect.

We stayed at the Hayloft whilst looking for a house to buy on arrival we opend the door to a beautiful cosy cottage everything was so clean fluffy towels and a welcome pack ,

Homemade lemon cake which was heaven all the touches to this cottage were so special i have stayed at lots of places and this tops the bill.

Natalie and John have thought of everything from couples to people with children they have opened up the farm and made it so inviting .

Dont want to tell everyone about this Gem but i have to. Be prepared to be wowed lots of great places to eat close by too.

We are just back from a long weekend at this property. I would recommended it to anyone the farmer came and introduced himself when we arrived. The place is lovely, very modern ,very clean, its a home from home we couldn't ask for more.

The views from the living room are great.

We used this as a base to travel around the lake district which we loved and returning here for some peace and quiet it has been a very relaxing weekend away.

What a fantastic place to stay!!

Stayed for three nights in January, already booked for February, cannot think of one thing that we would change (except the weather!!!!)

Fully equipped with everything we needed....including a pizza cutter! Spotlessly clean, my 14 month old grandson enjoyed the play area and seeing the tractor and farm dogs!!

Very comfy beds...brilliant shower...dishwasher....microwave....looking forward to many more stays!!

Lovely cottage for a family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at Hayloft Cottage which was very well designed and equipped. The play area outside was ideal for our children and the location was great for days out in the north lakes. The cottage was very clean and well kept. A lovely place - we will be back!

We visited the cottage as a group of four and we're delighted with the beautiful accommodation and view. Natalie left us a lovely welcome pack of essentials and also access to extra's that you rarely get anywhere else, the cottage is spotless and perfectly equipped.

If you want to enjoy the far Northern lakes with homely comforts to come back to then you must stay here.

Hayloft is truly a 5 star cottage. Absolutely spotless throughout with everything you could possibly need including thoughtful extra touches & a friendly welcome from Natalie and John. Peaceful with the comfiest bed we have had in a UK self catering property. 5 days was not long enough.
