Located in the rustic village of Carroz d'Araches, just a stones throw from the centre, the Residence Les Fermes du Soleil, is a luxury residence offering cosy, comfortable accommodation. The apartment has a large balcony overlooking the ice rink, swimming pool and over the village with views to the mountains. The closest ski lift is 800m away, accessed via a free shuttle bus which stops just outside the residence. Les Carroz d'Araches nestles into a wonderful natural setting of snow-capped mountaintops, providing the perfect location to enjoy miles of fantastic skiing to suit all abilities. The village is the proud guardian of an exciting religious, historical and gastronomic heritage, therefore not a purpose built ski resort, but an all year round French village. Easy access to supermarkets, bars and restaurants.

My name is Annabel and with my husband Micah and 2 children we have enjoyed 14 years of fantastic skiing holidays in Les Carroz. We live in Surrey and all have a passion for travelling.

Why Annabel chose Les Carroz d'Arâches

We chose Les Carroz because it is not a purpose built resort, but a French village which is busy all year round and is very "French"! The village itself is fairly small and now our children are a little older, they are able to walk to shops etc in the knowledge that they are safe and not going to get lost! The ski area accommodates for all abilities -( the children started in ski school at the age of 4 )- and provides skiing late into the season with Flaine being easily accessible.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is a short walk form a well stocked supermarket, the main village square and bars and restaurants. It is in walking distance from nearest ski lift or if you prefer, the free ski bus stops right outside the apartment. Having been to many resorts, we love the proximity of all you need and feel it ticks all the boxes!

Travel:

Geneva Airport is 1 h 11 min (73.1 km) via A40. Easily accessible by either airport transfer or car hire. If hiring a car we recommend hiring from the Swiss side, although prices may seem slightly higher it is a lot easier to exit from Swiss side and rental prices will include the Swiss motorway pass.

There are many private transfer companies available approx cost for minibus (up to 8) €170 each way or approx €50 per person each way.

Further Details:

Les Carroz is a real French village providing all the necessary amenities such as supermarkets, banks, pharmacy, childrens' nursery as well as fantastic restaurants and bars. Market day is Tuesday, where you will find some of the finest cheeses and french delicacies on sale. There are a choice of ski schools with English and French instructors and ski hire shops providing up to date ski equipment. The summer is just as busy as the ski season, providing numerous activities, such as mountain biking, ballooning, hiking, climbing, parascending, swimming in indoor or outdoor pool, horse riding and many others. If you have a spare day to explore the area, Chamonix is a charming, historic town nestled in the French Alps at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe. Located only 45 min (46.4 km) away via N205. Chamonix is a larger, more sophisticated resort offering amazing skiing to suit all levels and abilities. Annecy is a beautiful historic town, located on the shores of Lake Annecy, offering amazing restaurants and cycling opportunities, located only1 h (74.4 km) away via A410 and A40. the choices are endless!

Open plan kitchen/living room leading onto large balcony via french doors. Mountain views. Ideal for ski holidays, but also summer walking/cycling, activity holidays. Bedrooms with large wardrobes provide good storage space and windows with views towards the mountains. There is a secure underground ski locker for your ski equipment. This is a no smoking property. We had a fantastic week!!

We had a fantastic sunny week in a lovely friendly resort. The apartment has everything we needed very well equipped and cosy warm , home from home. The use of the pool/ hot tub/ sauna were a real bonus so too was advice to book ski locker at cable car!! Perfect very happy family holiday!!!

Lovely

We stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks with our 3 kids (12,9,8) with 2 in the second bedroom and one using the new sofa bed. We found the apartment both comfortable and practical. We hired a car from Geneva and used it to store the skis and boots and drove it to the lift every day - having the parking space really helped as the boots did not freeze overnight! Carroz is a beautiful resort with nice bars and restaurants and fantastic skiing, although not ski-in-ski-out Annabel's apartment is perfectly situated for accessing all the resort has to offer and combined with the access to the pool, sauna and steam rooms is the ideal place to stay - even with 3 kids!

Great area for a summer break

Lovely base for a summer holiday. Lots of walks of varying challenge right from the village; white water rafting and mountain biking/scootering also locally; short drive from the Mont Blanc range with various great options for sightseeing there. Apartment very well equipped and nicely presented; compact but perfectly big enough for our family with two adult kids.

Great Apartment

Stayed here February half term and was perfect for our family of 4. Exactly as the description says a cozy, compact apartment and a perfect location for a weeks Skiing. We hired a heated locker at the telecabin and walked there each morning but the Ski bus does stop outside the apartments. Very central for everything and we didn't need to use our car at all during the week. The Apartment is close to the Ice rink which it overlooks and there is a very short walk to the swimming pool and local shops. We would definitely stay here again and the owners were very helpful in arranging everything.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
