Farmhouse nr Treban, Allier, Auvergne, France - Peaceful Location, 20 Minutes Walk To Nearest Vineyard
Le Rif was once a working farm and in later years has been used as a centre for breeding Llamas and Horses. It is situated in a valley some 30 minutes drive from Moulins surrounded by fields and woodlands. A local farmer uses most of the fields at Le Rif for grazing cattle and sheep. The accommodation has been upgraded for modern usage with all living areas on the ground floor. There is full central heating. This is a home for the owners in France and they are letting it out as a holiday rental for a couple of years before moving in full time. 2015 will be the first year of letting this property.

We chose Le Rif because of its unique secluded location though with great shopping close enough to be convenient, access to one of the main north/south toll roads is easy and about 20 minutes away.
This will become our home in France shortly so we know its a bit above the norm for a gite holiday but we try to keep our pricing competitive.
About the Owner
We bought a small but well equipped gite (La Gravette 8076743 ) a few years ago. Having been letting and visiting the area for a while we decided to find a larger more permanent home for ourselves. For a few years we will be letting our farmhouse (Le Rif 8163152) on a gite basis for those who need more space or accommodation. We thought Le Rif might be difficult to find, but the sat nav info was perfect. Steve provided excellent information and advice on the property, including a warning about the local traffic conditions. The property was very spacious and an ideal location from which to tour the area. Apremont is a must see village. We also enjoyed trips to Moulins and Vichy. The local market in St Pourcain is a classically French affair, not to be missed. Would recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet.

“We bought Le Rif as a permanent home to retire to in a few years time. We were looking for a reasonable size property that required little by way of renovation in a remote but accessible location. The property had to be suitable for being a long term home and provide the capability of being self sufficient so far as possible. Reasonable distance from our existing gite near Lurcy Levis was preferable. Interesting and accessible attractions would be a bonus. We seem to have found our dream home and look forward to fully moving in in a few years time.”

“We enjoy the solitude that Le Rif has. It is wonderful to be able to wake up and walk out into the garden or fields in the early morning with no sound of traffic or neighbours. The farmhouse is sufficient distance from any road to bring peace and quiet yet is 15 minutes from shops or vineyards. A large town is about half an hour away with all the large stores anyone may need.”
