The Glan Morfa properties were winners of the ‘Best Self-Catering Establishment of the Year’, sponsored by InOut Magazine at the 2011 Anglesey Tourism Awards. Heating and light are supplied by solar and wind energy, with a reed bed system that takes away the waste water. You can enjoy your holiday knowing you are doing your bit to reduce the carbon foot print. Swan, or Alarch in Welsh, is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by open countryside with views toward the mountains of Snowdonia and down the Lleyn Peninsula. The nature reserve includes two lakes, beautiful walks and masses of flora and fauna - you can enjoy so much here even without having to get in the car. This is an old farm annexe which has been fully restored. It has a spacious open plan living room with comfy sofas and chairs in the sitting room, flat screen TV and DVD, dining table and chairs to one side, lovely view across the fields to the estuary. The kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge and a 3 drawer freezer.
Dave and Marta gave up London life for this paradise. Dave, 30 years in child protection, Marta, 20 years in Marketing - knowing nothing about tourism - turned their dream into reality. Fonsi, our 16 year old, is going to catering school and loving this part of the world.
We are loving it! We hope to welcome many guests and make them feel at home too.

We stayed at Glan Morfa this month for a week and had an amazing time. The cottage we stayed in, Wren, had beautiful, panoramic views of the acres and acres of land surrounding Glan Morfa and was very comfortable and clean. Going for a walk in the grounds was a great way to start the day; from wild ponies to bees, lakes to a waterfall, the land around the cottages is really beautiful. There is a big library next to the cottages with a really varied range of books and DVDs that we could borrow and there is also a games room with a pool table, darts etc.
There are a few beaches close by in neighbouring villages that we visited during our stay, which were really lovely (Aberffraw and Newborough). Newborough beach also has a forest right on the beach! We also made use of the local buses near the cottages to visit other villages and ended up in Beaumaris.
I would highly recommend staying at Glan Morfa. The family who run the place are really lovely and hospitable and always have good suggestions on where to visit/eat etc. The cottages and the land are really beautiful and tranquil and well worth a visit.
