About Mike Booth

Mike and Cheri Booth moved to Sycamore House in 2005, and both agree that they still feel as in love with the place now, as they did then.

The peace and tranquillity, beautiful views and abundance of wildlife are an absolute joy. The only noise to be heard at night is the hooting of owls, and the faintest rumble of a train going over the viaduct from Arnside to Grange, to remind you that although you are in the midst of beautiful countryside, civilisation is only a stones throw away. Ola and Phoebe the family Munsterlander dogs keep the Booths fit, but frankly they much prefer lounging around in the garden and playing with the grandchildren......where they know there are always titbits!!

Mike Booth purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Mike Booth chose Kendal & South Lakes

The place captivated us. Even when we went to see it for the first time viewing, we knew it was the place for us.

Incidentally, it took is 3 trips to find it. Privacy comes as standard. It's much better now.....private road and signs!!

What makes this apartment unique

Sycamore House is idyllic. The place just fills you with calm. I'm putting this on the website now on a December day looking out over the garden in watery sunlight to the bay and beyond. I can't hear a thing other than the birds on the feeder and pheasants arguing. There is nowhere I'd rather be.

Immaculate apartment with lots of home comforts in a beautiful location with friendly owners.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived late evening on the Friday evening & found the property easily with the helpful notes we'd been sent through. This is a stunning location & we only wish our stay had been longer. We had originally travelled up for my daughter to compete in the great north swim on the Sunday but this was unfortunately cancelled but we decided to enjoy our trip anyway.

The apartment was immaculate & furnished to a very high standard & the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in. All rooms had blackout blinds. It had everything that you needed for a self catering stay.

We went out both days & a sat nav is useful. Some of the roads are very narrow & some single track so you need to drive carefully particularly in bad weather. It is a beautiful area to drive in & I felt it was a shame I wasn't a passenger. You are not too far away from any shops if you need anything.

We gave this five stars as there was nothing that we would have changed. We can't wait to have the chance to stay here again, hopefully for a bit longer next time.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is set in its own grounds accessed via a driveway and electronic gates. It has its own separate entrance from the main house and its own garden at the back of the house. Eventhough its next to the main house iits totally private. Inside there is a lot of natural light and the apartmemt is a good size and furnished to a high standard. Unlike most properties on owners direct the pictures dont do it justice. The location is very peaceful and in beautiful grounds within walking distance of Arnside village and promenade. Thoroughly recommend this apartment we had a wonderfu comfortable relaxing long weekend and will definately return.

Highly recommended apartment in a beautiful, tranquil location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights in this excellent property with our 13 year old son. The owners were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly, making us feel like friends not just guests.

The apartment is well equipped with good quality fixtures and fittings and is situated in a beautiful and tranquil location. It is a great base for exploring the local coast and walks or travelling a bit further afield (we spent separate days in Grange over Sands and Bowness on Windermere - each around 30/40 minutes drive).

Arnside is a quaint little village with lots of character and basic amenities. Nothing more relaxing than sitting with a drink at the pub as the sun sets over The Estuary!

If you want tranquillity, scenery, walks, and excellent accommodation then I would highly recommend this apartment and location.

A Little peace of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

From the moment that I first visited this wonderful location I knew it was the place for me, so much so I have returned several times to discover more about this enchanting area, away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The apartment is great, well equiped, spotless clean, and very private, my idea the perfect retreat. Cheri and Mike are such wonderful people extending a warm and friendly welcome from the minute you arrive, not forgetting their four legged friends Pheobe and Ola, all the amazing birds, squirels and abundance of wild life. Such a pleasant change from the usual commercial get aways. It certainly is my best find yet and can,t wait for my next visit.

Perfect Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We booked this accommodation for a break after Christmas and over New Year. Following our booking we are contacted by the owner and all the information we required was sent to us. The location is perfectly placed as a base for getting out and about, either locally or exploring the Lake District.

We received a warm welcome from the owners. The property is all freshly decorated with everything you would need. Very comfortable king size bed, lovely bathroom. The kitchen is also well equipped. There is also Sky TV, lovely quiet location within walking distance to the beach. A home from home.

We are a family of 3 and the property was perfect for us. We would definately stay again and would happily recommend others to stay too.

There are a number of steps up to the front door, therefore not suitable for young children or those with mobility issues- this is all stated clearly in the property detail.

Thank you for a lovely stay!
